I got a c.scope cs 1220xd which coil didn't detect much any more.
Hidden underneath the decal was a small hole to reach the tuning capacitor, and the decal had a hair crack, which let water in - as i found out too late, since i already had destroyed the coil while opening it.

Thanks for the tip . The performance of this metal detector is what to be expected from 1980's machine. Most coins and rings will be walked right over and you would have no idea you was missing lots of deeper finds. Most metal Detectors even today are only scratchin the surface .
