I was fortunate to get to watch Valentino compete in every event at Copper Mountain 2014-2016(ish) because he and my son were in the same age category, and Valentino always came across as genuinely down-to-earth, nice, humble, and gracious, even as he crushed every single event by a mile. To everyone watching, it was clear that Valentino had the capacity to be the Snowboarding GOAT. Looks like his hard work, commitment, dedication, and discipline is paying off. Valentino, my family wishes you all the best! You are amazing, and we can't wait for the whole world to watch you and cheer for you!

I hope he will get to the top. But it's going to be hard. I assume there are like 10 japanese and chinese riders in his age with similar skills we haven't even heard of.

Is someone of their family (as per min 1:29) part of FISI? (Italian ski/snowboard team) that might open him room for lot of quality training facilities

Sadly this perpetuates the PRO ideals parents desire for their children yet the real overall skill of snowboarding isn’t pipes and jumps. Those are the smallest portion of skill for a snowboarder. This kid will just succumb to injury eventually because the progression to be the best will always be ahead of him.
Glad he’s enjoying it but it’s just a rich kids pipedream

When I watched Valentino compete in 2014, 2015, and 2016 (approx), he was winning far more than just half pipe. He also podium'ed in slalom, giant slalom, boardercross, and slopestyle - every event. Not sure where you are getting the idea that Valentino somehow is lacking other skills. I saw this first hand as he won every event, including all of those where my son was competing in his category (of course). I think that the sport has moved towards a focus on halfpipe, but had it moved towards racing instead, you STILL would see him being championed as the next GOAT. IMHO
