Voted as the 'fans' favourite try' of the Emirates Dubai Sevens, Emosi Mulevoro recieves the ball from teammate Pio Tuwai in Fiji's 44-0 over New Zealand.
My choice for best try would be the other one Tuwai created for Benito Masilevu. It is much more difficult to create that one when you have you back to the defenders and boxed along the sideline.
Say what you want... watching it live made me jump out of my seat! Sad though it may never make best try of the tournament due to dominating votes from other countries for their own teams. It's cool I know what's what! Fiji will always win the hearts of 7's players and fans world wide. Peace out!
Jacks Johnson ....yes exactly. The guy who scored had the chance to move left or right so he floated in between and got himself ready for whichever way easier to the guy who passed the ball. He chose the back door pass and the scorer ran to it. Beautifully done.
I encourage you to read Ben Ryan’s book ‘ seventh heaven’ . He talks about the road to Rio and included stories like Pio’s amazing offloads that the rest of the team loved to feed off. very smart footy if you think about it! ❤️🇫🇯
Okay, so when Fiji received that ball, How come he wasn't considered offside when he was way in front of the ball carrier? Sorry, awesome try, would just like a little explanation xP
because it was general play there are no offside lines. If there had of been a tackle and ruck or something, and that player was still there then he'd be offside
1 cent ...and such is the time when an "old dog" has new tricks ! Shut the Floodgates now lol.Good Job Fiji ! 2 cents...Sports Telepathy meets Poetry in Motion...syncing Ship New Zealand...lol
Hyperbole much? Pretty easy when there's half the defenders and it was straight back. Not that difficult. Go look at Quade's pass to Joe Tomane against Wales, or much of what Benji used to do in League.
This highlight doesn't do the pass justice in real time this is one of the best offloads ever
i quote "That is fijian rugby at it's absolute best"
fijians- darlings of world sevens rugby! just wished they could play like that in the fifteens version. great entertainers ! good luck next year .
What a incredible pass. Thank the Lord for his guidance

Not simple its incredible he drew defenders to himself n both got dummied lol
Eso se llama un apoyo..., y por supuesto un pase de compañeros que estan compenetrados.
And Tuwai is back!!
Whats so good is how he just threw it in the air to noone, the guy wasn't even gonna cut in until after he threw the pass
Yup! What was brilliant is the fact that he gave the ball enough air / float for the supporting player to accelerate unto the ball. :)

it's just a fijian thing
Onetox Nas just fijian excellency in playing this sport.. trully amazing
Marcus Flynt we play touch rugby everyday after school or work in Fiji..we develop our skills through touch rugby.
The skill of anticipation is aquired from hours of playing together...to anticipate what your teammate will do.on both pio and mulevoro's side.
haha, kids play like that all the time in Fiji. Offloading is the hallmark of Fijian rugby.
Vina'a Viti

ahhh, thanks! :)
General play, there wasn't any breakdown or ruck created to set the offside line. The ball was still in open play.

+Nieghorn no sense in comparing sevens to what players do in other codes, bring the best from the world and Fiji will beat them hands down.
+SPEED so true..even J.Hayne couldnt make it to Fiji 7s team to the Olympics.....
John Lalabalavu ....and Sonny Bill looked odd doing his best passes against fijians at 7's.
Meh. Nothing too special about that. No real pressure on him.
