I was 16 in the late 1990s listening to this on 99.3 Upfront FM. Anyone else remember that station? At that time they were rinsing this and Love Bug and Destiny by DEM 2 and Sincere MJ Cole. Unbelievable time for UK Garage music
Late 90s? You poor thing you missed most of the really good choons babe! I used to feel a bit sorry for the yungens as that's when started to change up. For the worse!
The Aaliyah sample used to perfection, over the rolling bass and skippy drums and lush chords 🔥 1998, the year 2step took over the London airwaves...garage was blasting out of every car and tower block!
Hearing this for the first time, here in 2020. Big ups to the old school and mad respect for these tunes for paving the way for the producers of today and tomorrow ❤
ONE OF THE BEST bass line drops ever!!! For anyone new to this song (such a shame, but you found it eventually), DO NOT listen to this on your smart phone or laptop. It needs a separate's Hi-Fi stack and the biggest speakers you can get your hands on to do it real justice. Failing that, if you have a TV with a sound bar and a good subwoofer that would suffice. I remember hearing this at Crisp Biscuit, Stratford Rex in September 1998, my 19th birthday, enjoying a party prescription for the first time. When the bass dropped all I can remember is sitting in front of these massive PA speakers and feeling like my chest and torso was gonna cave in. It got three rewind demands from the crowd, the most I've seen requested. I sat in front of those speakers for 10 glorious minutes. What an anthem. Edit: 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏻✌🏼🖖🏼👍🏼
Yep, totally agree. Another tune that used to totally smash the bass bins was DJ Lewi hold me tight. I remember EZ with CKP dropping it and the sound system just said fuck this and gave up.
Hearing it first time in 2022. Rather chilly night for a Toronto spring. Hella baked. Tacos delish. Pint of stellar ice cold. When the bass kicked in on this I knew I had found magic. The rest is blissful history.
this track reminds me of my pet rabbit Eevee who died in 2020 :( this was one of the last songs i played around her before she passed. much love to the garage crew 💜
Perfection. To hear this on a rig that can really hold that bassline is a treat . That low subby bassline perfectly complimenting the snappy el-b riddim and sugar melody. Blend this into the dub of TJR "just gets better" and your in a truly special place

Graffiti on the lines and garage on the airwaves. I don't think London has known a culturally richer time.
Aaliyah sample were standard and shoutout to the underrated BRANDY she made some of the best samples in garage & jungle at least in my humble opinion
