The bearing on the pinion in front of the gear has come apart. That allows the pinion to walk back towards the gear cover then pushes on the cover outward then breaking the studs off. Common problem.
@@jeffrittenhouse7464 Good call guys! While we're on the subject . . . can you convince these guys to get a car hoist in the shop and quit working like a bunch or rookie racers ??????

Well guys you may have been fooling around about back issues but!! I really did have some back problems when I was working on my 07 Mustang Cobra this last month as I was changing shocks and I fractured my L2 spine, this isn't my only issue I've had with my back, and more because when I was younger I needed to take a lot of steroids causeing my bone density too be lacking, because of a kidney disease and now at 73, I have two plates in my neck some concrete in my lower back and now there will be more, that's just the beginning but it could be worse but I take it pretty careful at my age,and don't get me wrong I've had a great and fairly wild life with racing cars and traveling the world for my job with my wife of 54yrs an two daughters, so you guys are on a great path of having fun and also working and hopefully making decent money. So I'll be watching and buying shirts, I'm also going to save up and buy one of your doors Joseph to put in my car hauler. 🤔😉🏁🇺🇸ML33MI.
from an old, very old, ex dirt racer just looking at the way these quick changes work it has to be related to the pinion, nothing else is really that connected to the part of the rear where the cover studs are, my guess is for some reason the pinion was moving more than it should and pushing either the gears or on the cover and as you get on and off power it would be pushing side to side until it just sheared the studs.
I REALLY miss the old HTF days. I never had yo see them pish off merch which is fine and I understand qhy they do it. But i watch mainly for the GREAT videos they put out. I'm not throwing any shade at the HTF team at all. But i want to express my thoughts to see who agrees. When HTF first started posting on TH-cam i loved them. A good ole boy racing family that raced for the love of it. That was obvious go see by them being in the Big Shop with their dad and family members working on their cars after driving a dump truck and teaching at school. You could see they were racing because they loved it. Going to their local track with friends and family helping with the car. And then the friendly battle with Bo for the points. The video's were wholesome and other hard working racers could relate to them. Heck, they even sat in the carport at Jonathan's house with their wives to do a live Q&A to basically introduce themselves to the world. And now ALL that has changed. Was it for the better or for the worse. I think both. I understand how they wanted to get better equipment and haulers to go race with the higher class, A.K.A. the Lucas Late Models. But to do that they would need more money. That brings in to play pushing and selling merchandise constantly. I again understand the need for them to do that. But to a lot of racers or casual watchers it comes across as begging for our money. Especially when its at the beginning almost every video now. Then there is the need for BIG sponsorships to afford to compete. And let us not forget, they also need a lot of money A.K.A funding to not only buy equipment and transportation to go to the races they have to support at the minimum 5 families. That being Joseph, Jonathan, Jesse, and both full time crew members. Now im sure their significant other's have their own income but now days it takes 2 incomes to make it in most cases. Now, with that being said, they have put a TON of responsibility and stress on themselves to make sure they keep sponsors happy and to sell merchandise. Without these 2 factors they couldn't live out their dreams of being a full time race team. But are they really living out their dream as planned? In my opinion I'd say NO. How could they be? They are struggling to find what they are missing to be competitive at most every level. Now that's not a dig or insult, its obvious. I know many people, such as myself, are still pulling for them to turn things around and get back to running up front. Thats why i say there is no way they are living their dream. Im sure they have to worry about performance to keep their sponsors happy so they will keep funding them. Then I'm sure there is stress worrying if fans stop following them or supporting them that the merchandise income will dwindle. That is a TON of responsibility to both aspects because the loss of either or God forbid both then they will not be able to fund the team financially both equipment wise nor team employee wise. And I'm sure on the stage they are on and in front of many followers on TH-cam they dont want failure. And i hope they dont fail. But i do believe the sacrifice's they made to chase their dream has turned into a stressful nightmare and they have lost the love for the sport of racing. They no longer can do it because they want to, they have to do it because now they have to. Everything changed for them and their love for racing by chasing their dream. No longer can they miss events because they have other stuff they'd rather do like going to the lake or whatever. That would upset sponsors and cost points if running for a championship. That's why when i raced being street stocks or late models i never had a sponsor or raced for points. I didnt want all that stress because i would've started to hate racing as I've seen others do that have ran for points and had big sponsors. Heck, I miss watching Jonathan race his car and winning. And racing against Bo for the championship. You could tell then they loved racing and was having fun. I dont see that as much anymore. Now ots basically Joseph doing all the racing. And as a racer myself i know that has to somewhat bother Jonathan and jesse to a degree as well. When joseph wins or runs up front im sure they are all happy but when he dont they're not. And when you can drive a car and win such as Jonathan and Jesse it makes you wish you were back behind the wheel yourself. Hopefully they turn things around soon. Not only for their sponsors merchandise sales, but for their piece of mind. And if any HTF guys happen to read this I hope and pray that ALL of you FALL IN LOVE WITH RACING AGAIN. Because at the end of the day thats why y'all do what you do. Not for all the stress or for money or fame. Its for the love of racing.
You are making a case that they should not be happy? Honestly, you would have to ask them and not assume you can speak for them. The team does not just race. They sponsor a series, manage merchandise, film it for you tube, manage HTF TV.....and stuff I am surely missing. They are a talented group of young men. Who else does all this??? Tell me who??? So, I would say they are unique, and will remain unique even with the win record they currently have. I would like to see them win more, but I believe they are winners no matter what the win ratio is or isnt, and am very glad they take me along for the ride. I wish HTF success and safe racing for this season and the next....I love what you are doing!

Has aluminum nuts. Not gonna get enough torque on them to break a stud. Something inside rear end was trying to come out. Likely pinon bearing as somebody else mentioned. My question is why? Doesn't have many laps.
@@gailtaylor1636 Sorry if I said bolts. Aluminum nuts can not be used over and over in stress area. I agree. When I rain my late model I changed bearings and fluids once a month. So basically every 4 races. I never waited for something to happen to fix it. Yes it was costly and yes they were fine every time I changed them. But I never had equipment failure. And only blew 1 motor in 10 yrs of racing and ran top 5 consistently.

I agree. It went from racing for fun to racing for big sponsorship money. It seems they put a lot of pressure on themselves to perform great to make the sponsors happy. When you do that you lose the passion and love for the sport of racing. In 10yrs of racing I never had a sponsor and never ran for points. That way if I hit a bad run streak it didn't affect anyone but me and not running for points made life easy cause I could not run for a month and it didn't matter. I could go to the lake with the family and not worry about points or sponsorships. And I believe that's their biggest issue. Went they first started on TH-cam I loved watching them racing for wins and maybe a championship at their local track. But most importantly they had a lot of family and friends helping them in the shop and at the track. Now they are no longer in the videos, which is sad to me. I know they wanted to do more but sometimes more isn't better. I truly believe that if they dropped back to crates or lates at their local track and got rid of the bigger sponsors like Kubota they would fall in love with racing again and start winning more. Heck, I even miss watching Bo run. I know it's their dream to do what they're doing but it appears it's a nightmare at this point. There is no way they are enjoying dealing with all this stress just to run in the back or for money. Especially when they are supporting 5 or 6 families on the income which could stop or dwindle down at any point. Instead of continuing to teach and drive dump trucks and race when they could stress free.
Yall are balls deep in racecars and running a elite series car on some old ass 90s style hubs?? 🤔. Yall gotta go with some newer lighter stuff in 2025 it all adds up. == 🏁🏎️💨 💨
Something is wrong. Could be the pinion angle or driveshaft length. Whatever it is they really need to investigate. When I ran my late model in 2002 I was in the shop at daylight on race day checking EVERYTHING. Bolts and all on the chassis mounts and engine, down to the battery cables. It seems mundane and stupid but I never ever had a failure due to equipment failure. Out of 10yrs of racing I only got put on the hook once. And that was during hot laps the track was heavy and I hit the wall in turn 3/4. I thought it was hurt so I had them tow it in. Come to find out it was fine.
@@bigcountryproductions2097 LOL that's hilarious you don't think we don't check everything 🤣 Just because they don't film it, doesn't mean it's not happening. You never ran at this level, Supers latemodels tear shit up, thats just the nature of it when you run as many races as we do.
@rhayes1645 something's definitely wrong with that car, Couple weeks ago the oil pump broke off the frame now the rear end cover shears the bolts off,It's like it's flexing in spots it shouldn't be
So this is an opinion and y’all are so welcome but when you gents are using your battery operated torque wrench on those rear gear bolts every time you change gears what do you think is happening. The metal it made of is light weight aluminum correct. Anyway just a thought, hand tools aren’t broken when it comes to those light weight materials like that. But if you’re in a hurry I get it. And keep my Jesus at the front of the pack
I wouldn’t brag about how long the ratchet straps held on. The maintenance program for a HTF has something less than desired . I’m not a hater been a member and follower for 4 years . Just want them to get back on track and stick with on program and get back to winning. I believe in the pits they are not considered a threat anymore.
@@ayeitzlucas2394That's what they do, they are broken. It's why they lost and they still don't get it. 9 times out of 10 they still live with their parents, or leach welfare.

You never ran at this level, Supers latemodels tear shit up, thats just the nature of it when you run as many races as we do.
Idk but looks like the axle splines are gone in the spool
@rhayes1645 something's definitely wrong with that car, Couple weeks ago the oil pump broke off the frame now the rear end cover shears the bolts off,It's like it's flexing in spots it shouldn't be
swap the centers
Besides Joseph no
So this is an opinion and y’all are so welcome but when you gents are using your battery operated torque wrench on those rear gear bolts every time you change gears what do you think is happening. The metal it made of is light weight aluminum correct. Anyway just a thought, hand tools aren’t broken when it comes to those light weight materials like that. But if you’re in a hurry I get it. And keep my Jesus at the front of the pack
Why do you have a weird in your crash?Cart and you don't change it out.Look what it cost you
Just sale everything and get out of it before it's to late y'all just can't run with the big boys
Feeling like yall are spread too thin..
Lol gotta push that merch lol cause that's all the money you have coming in cause you can't win races . Thats for sure !!
Seems theyr happy with a 10th place finish
Can you open your mouth without whining?
@@Maddie-GirlThere are a lot of guys would love a top ten .

HEY YOUR BELOVED tRump might know..CUZ HE'S A GENIUS..XLOWNS
Why even watch? Does being negative make your life that much better? You people that hate on others are so weird to me. Find a hobby.
@@ayeitzlucas2394That's what they do, they are broken.
It's why they lost and they still don't get it.
9 times out of 10 they still live with their parents, or leach welfare.
@ayeitzlucas2394 I have hobbies..& I can take my late model apart & rebuild everything on it.don't need to steal money (ppp money).nor hawk cheap chitt merchandise.
@@ayeitzlucas2394 Guys like him are just halfwits, but you can see where the real sour grapes are from. It's pathetic, really.
