"Charlie Brown is navigating. Not always a good thing" LOL. Whenever we are in the van and its pouring with rain, I also say: "Glad we're not in a tent".
My family began our camping life in tents. Even after my parents graduated to a 32ft Holiday Rambler for retirement, during heavy rains someone would quip, 'don't touch the sides'! Lol
Lovely video as always from the pair of you - poor Carol and the stone piles disease 😉. The sculptures were really interesting thanks for taking us along a treasure hunt. You are relaxing to watch - we also feel you deserve an award for dealing with the crazy weather too. Xxx
That looked like quite an obstacle course to get back to the van. I’m like Carol with the research thing, always checking things out! Thanks for another great video 😊
Hi both, glad you're still enjoying the Brown Bear Coffee. I don't know about you but I've decided to stick with that "Blue mountain" variety. I found the other one to strong and I'll swear it affected my nights night's sleep. Too much caffeine in the Mambo Italiano for this old bear. Glad to see you enjoyed the Sculpture trail. I believe the trail is about 40 or so years old now but some of the original pieces have been replaced. I think I was told that church in Coleford was destroyed by Olly Cromwell's lot. They certainly did a fair bit of damage around these parts. They even used one of the churches in Bristol as stabling for the horses. Sorry about the weather. You don't want to come to Gloucestershire without yer wellies, look what happened to poor old Dr Foster. 🙄😬
@Life is too short in Gloucester docks there is a pub restaurant called Dr Fosters and I think also the commissary in the hospital is called that. The other thing we're famous for is Beatrix Potter's tailor of Gloucester. Fair dos though, I don't remember being taught it but it was in my little brother's nursery rhyme book when I was older. Not her but in Twickenham. 😬
Good weather to sludge about in but you had a good pair of wellies to help you cope and we get a true representation of the British weather. Nice that you remain upbeat about it. Carol's determination to access somewhat obscure knowledge is very impressive and interesting. Keep it up and thanks a lot for for sharing.
You both looked knackered after that walk no wonder you were still in your P.J's at 9am. Well done for having a relaxing morning it was a lovely walk in the woods with you even if quite muddy and I find walking long distances in boots really tiring as well. Lovely video folks thanks so much. xxxx
How many stalls = a market 🤪 lol I agree re research Ken - Jane is the fact guru. Loved the metal sculpture looked so real. Jane said there is no such thing as a nice beetle she hates them. Great video guys
Thanks for taking us along on your trip again, the breakfast looked really good. We know that Ken has many names for Carol, but does Carol have any for Ken, or are they not mentionable on video! 😂
Nice vlog. I liked your walk in the lovely park & village. My great grandfather & grandmother are from Wales we visited Bristol England, our friends who lived in Cwmbran & did tour of southern Wales & northern Wales and my grandfather's home town of Llanrhystud. England and Wales are very beautiful. I loved it there. 🇺🇸 💖Pamela
Thanks for another interesting video. Brings back memories of when I lived in Bristol and it was great to get out of the city and visit the Forest of Dean. I first saw some wooden sculptures by the very talented David Nash on the sculpture trail there. Seeing his sculptures in situ in the forest was wonderful. Many years later, I saw an exhibition of his in Eastbourne. The sculptures were still amazing, but to me seeing them in the forest as part of the environment was more fitting than the sterile gallery location.
We didn’t have a clue either and had to look it up. Apparently the rock, taken from a local quarry and carrying the marks of trees from 300 million years ago, symbolises the carboniferous forests that make up the geological formation known as the Coal Measures. The cast iron pole represents larch props used to brace the coal mine tunnels. Good to know 😂
Hello Ken / Carol That was a very pleasant walk even if it was not the best of days weather wise to bad you did not see any wildlife I have heard from friends that the forrest is getting over run with wild boar . Have a great weekend take care .

That seemed like a busy day for you with a long walk through the mud, cinema and onto a curry afterwards. I bet you were tired and slept through the rain. Sculptures in the woods made me remember the story I read a while back on a mystery tales website, stairway in the woods. Climb to the top and both disappear.
Great video Carol and Ken, thank you! I was a bit confused by the "Hallowe'en" bit but I soon caught up. Rain can be quite beautiful, but probably best enjoyed from somewhere dry when it's cold! Thank you for another pretty walk ☺️

Do you and Carol ever get to tour Buckinghamshire? I believe this is some of filming location for Midsomer Murders. We do enjoy your travel adventures.
That was good thanks will you go back in better weather ….I thought that first sculpture looked really dangerous especially with it being at the bottom of a slope where kids might run down and not be able to stop shame you didn’t see them all x
The mushroom at 11:45 is an amanita muscaria (aka "fly agaric"). Not poisonous, but if eaten would likely produce hallucinogenic intoxication. In any case, they are a very interesting looking when spotted on a trail.
Carol you can make my breakfast any day it looked delicious. Pigeons are known as flying rat's. This is a nice welcome reprieve from my true crime channel. I enjoyed the sculpture trail it was something different. A good curry is hard to beat. XX ♥️💙

A soggy start to that day trip but a lovely walk despite the muck and mud. I appreciate the nature walks. Thank you for a lovely time. How do you clean your boots once back at the van. Do you store them in a bag until you can get them clean so they aren’t put away muddy? Mary
Glad you enjoyed the walk Mary. Re the muddy boots, we brush off as much mud as we can and keep them in the garage area at the back of the van on a plastic box lid. We are thinking of taking a water spray bottle as well so we can spray and wipe with a cloth if needed 🙂
Hi there I have been following you recently and really enjoy your videos. We are newbies and we are picking up lots of hints and tips from you both. One thing I wanted to ask was do you use an app for finding places to park up over night if so which one is it. Thanks for entertaining us😀
Thanks for watching Alexis. We use the Park4night and Pocket Earth apps and check out locations on Google Maps. Streetview in Google Maps is useful for checking entrances to car parks, etc.
C&k thank you once again for your road trip .not long ago I said that we wanted to retire early and buy our 1st mh.yesterday my beautiful soon to be wife was told she has to have a biopsy as the oncologist thinks she has cancer .our world has crashed before our eyes. We use Google Maps for finding most things and navigating. Pocket Earth is good for finding toilets and park ups and also Park4Night for park ups. We use an iPad to navigate because we like the bigger screen. Have fun on your travels and stay safe 😀
Hi Ken, in one of your previous videos...you mentioned you had a parking ticket...have you been caught by hidden cameras in one of your stealth parking spots?
@@LifeistooshortCK I have version 1 and the deadcats are a poor design. It only comes with one transmitter and 1 receiver. I think the new model has 2 transmitters.

Pigeons are the bullies of the bird table. Sometimes the smaller birds don’t get a look in 🙂

No we have never had a parking fine. I think I was just referring to the ticket you have to display when parking ☺️
👍❤️
Thank you for another interesting (and rather wet) video, you always seem to find really awesome things to show us... Lol.
The forest of dean’ isn’t the same since the people from out side came to live there
That’s a shame.
Another great video. What Rode Wireless Go models do you use?
Model 2. Better connection and the wind deadcats never fall off like version 1
@@LifeistooshortCK I have version 1 and the deadcats are a poor design. It only comes with one transmitter and 1 receiver. I think the new model has 2 transmitters.
Very soggy! I love fungi and stacked rocks. Is “Charlie Brown” Carol’s nickname?
Yes, one of many 😁
@@LifeistooshortCK love it 😍
