@@thechatterguys Unfortunately I was unable to attend this year last minute unavoidable emergency, but my crowd attended and I got to see on their phones just how many amazing things happened this year. Xuberdance despite people having to pull out because of the threat by the mindless idiots with their threats put on a show that would rival any West End Show and when you see the joy and nerves of these kids it fills you up. Mike and Jonathon who joined the South Wales Miners in 1984 came and were really great with everyone , just think these guys made a real change so that peopke have the rights they have now and they chose Wakefield so many stand out things happened this year the list is endless, and as an Old Queen from Wakey and has seen what has happened to our City Centre and some of the obstacles over the years to put a day on like they did with the added threat by those mindless thugs I feel Proud that I live in Wakefield. They SMASHED it and have left a great feel good factor here in Wakefield .
Thank you Paul. After this year's Pride we're certainly thinking of socialising in Wakefield more than we have in the past. Maybe we'll bump into you sometime ❤️🌈😁
Wakey has changed since I used to live there, 30 odd years ago. The Rainbow used to be my regular haunt as a youngster. The New Union looks like it is at the back of the Ridings and was called The Spaniard. It took me a while to get my bearings with the pride event but it looks like the end of North Street in the car park. Thanks for the walk down memory lane :)
Your right on the Spaniard and the location of The Pride event, Colin used to work on North Street to he knows the area pretty well, he says it's one of the nice parts of Wakefield with some new restaurants up that way. 👍 Thanks for your comment
Hi Colin and Tim What a great turn out this was, so many people, stalls, and acts. I must admit the Cher act was very good indeed and my favourite. One thing i did feel very guilty about was wondering why the had signers on stage, i hang my head in shame for this as deaf people can be part of the LGBT family also, sorry folks 😞my bad as they say. The only other thing i also found sad was the amount of security and police, lets pray for the day there has to be none at these events. Chris. 🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈
Hi Chris. Wakefield Pride was a really good day. I didn't really become aware of ageism until I turned 60 and it started to impact me directly. There were a lot of protests that turned into riots that week. Security was probably on high alert 🌈🌞👍
Aww wonderful video, so glad the weather was good. Loved Poptart she really sang the Electronica style beautifully. Romantic memory Karma Violet singing at your wedding we just had my drunken Grandad singing Roll out the barrel 😂 x
Fantastic video! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Loads of fun 💜💜 I spotted the drums 😁😄 I would have been up there! Well done with that guy at the end too! Can't wait to see you both again xxxx
I was there but didn't like the new union pride but preferred the car park bit as it was spaced out and I also visited the our house lgbt community cafe which is on kirkgate in Wakefield which is a new lgbt venue in Wakefield
Gay Men Pride Flag. This flag symbolises the attraction of men to each other and the diversity of the gay community. It consists of blue and azure shades.
Hi James! Tell us about it. The original flag was designed to include everyone so why do we need new designs to include specific sections of the community. We think the reason they do it is to sell more flags 🤔🏳️🌈🌈
Performing Radiohead's "Creep" at Pride seems a bit out of place. "I don't belong here" being repeated over and over again isn't very welcoming or inclusive!
Thankyou Lads I wish now that I had gone it looked great ' Wakey is on my doorstep
Maybe next year! The main stage was really good this year and the weather was beautiful 🌞🌈❤️
Wakefield Pride giving Wakefield something to be Proud about .
It was a really good Pride, Paul. Did you go? 🌈🌈🌈

That looked really good and I love the tribute acts.
Hi Sean. We had a brilliant time 🌈🥰🩲
I must live under a stone, I live in Wakefield and didn't know about this event. So sad 😢I will be there next year.
Oh no! You missed a real treat! Wakefield Pride is usually held on the second Sunday in August. Maybe we'll see you there next year! 🌈💓🙏

Ha ha! Thanks Penny. Pop Tart did a smashing job. The acoustics didn't do her any favours but she pulled it off nevertheless! 👍👍👍
You handled the guy at the end really well X
We're used to 'em by now, Dave! 😄
@@thechatterguys Silly fool.
Lol the drag duo singing about knockers looked like fun
The Dream Girls were FABULOUS. Proper entertainers! 🌞🌈👛
OMGoodness The Dream Girls FANTABULOUSA!!! XXX That Crabs Joke!! I nearly wet myself and sprayed my soft furnishings with wine!🤣🤣🤣
The Dream Girls were absolutely brilliant. So funny 🤣 and saucy without being crude. We loved then ❤️🌞👛
Hope you had a great day out
We had a cracking, thanks, Wolverine 😁

Have you been to the cafe guys?
Hmm I don't understand the green and blue reference
I’m confused by all of it , seems every week the flag changes

Hi Colin did you get a bust lip hopefully not
No, it was just a cold sore 😷

We agree 💯. The first 2 singers chose some very gloomy songs. They didn't suit the mood at all ☹️🌈❤️
