You only need to get Mecha'thun down to 6 mana, for the pyro combo, so its not terribly impossible. I could see a deck of low cost spells, Mecha'thun, and Auctioneer. But, no, it's just not good.

I'm so confused by your views on paladin having no win condition or value when odd paladin is still getting people into legend and is still a high ranking deck considering the game is almost always over by turn 6 or 7. Like that's a tremendous win condition and value in one lmao. Boring as fuck to play constantly, but it's definitely a good deck
He said no *new* win condition. If he wanted to play what is basically the same deck type that has been floating around for ages he would probably just play quest rogue.

How do you kill it? With Pyro + Equality + 2x Galvanizer you're two mana short
It's a long shot, but you can get Mecha'thun to one mana by swapping it with a secret with crystology.
Oh right. Yeah that sounds pretty tough to accomplish :). Probably easier to just go Exodia.
