Cyrus the Great (c. 600-530 BCE) was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, the first and one of the largest Persian empires in history. Born into a royal Persian family, Cyrus rose to power by overthrowing the Median king Astyages around 550 BCE, uniting the Persians and the Medes under his rule. This marked the beginning of his conquests and the establishment of a centralized empire.
Cyrus expanded his empire significantly through a combination of military strategy, diplomacy, and tolerance. He conquered the Kingdom of Lydia in Anatolia (modern-day Turkey) around 546 BCE, defeating King Croesus, and later turned his attention to Mesopotamia. In 539 BCE, Cyrus captured Babylon, overthrowing the Neo-Babylonian Empire. His conquest of Babylon was notable for his policy of religious and cultural tolerance. He allowed exiled peoples, including the Jews, to return to their homelands and rebuild their temples, as described in the Hebrew Bible.
Cyrus is remembered not only for his military achievements but also for his progressive governance. He established a model of administration that respected the customs, religions, and laws of the diverse peoples within his empire. This approach earned him the loyalty of his subjects and helped maintain stability across his vast territories.
There are various theories about his death.
Traditional Version: The Battle Against the Massagetae
The main source for the death of Cyrus is Herodotus, the 5th-century Greek historian, who describes how Cyrus died during a military campaign against the Massagetae, a nomadic tribe from the Central Asian steppes, located in what is now Uzbekistan. According to Herodotus, Cyrus invaded their territory, but the queen of the Massagetae, Tomyris, defeated him in battle. Cyrus, wounded, was captured, and Tomyris, in an act of vengeance, had his head cut off and thrown into a large vessel of blood, as punishment for killing her son.
Another Version: Death in Battle or from Illness
However, some ancient historians offer different versions. For example, Plutarch suggests that Cyrus died in battle, but does not provide specific details about the outcome of the war or the circumstances of his death. Other authors, such as Justin, do not mention the battle against the Massagetae and instead speak of his death occurring from natural causes or illness, rather than in battle. According to these sources, Cyrus may have died during his return from the campaign, far from the battlefield.
    Modern Theories
Some modern historians believe that the ancient versions may have been influenced by tradition and mythological narratives, and that Cyrus's death may have been less dramatic than described by Herodotus. It is possible that Cyrus died from natural causes, such as illness or aging, or that he was killed in a minor conflict with local tribes, but there is no concrete evidence to definitively confirm any one theory.

First of all thank you amd well done,Herodotus said that Tomris killed him (which of course is wrong). Xenophon said that he was wounded in a war and died a few days later, according to the latest research in Iran, which I said yesterday, Arrian's said is confirmed, he died naturally.

@@aicovers100 This respect for the audience is very good. A question, do you have a plan for an album? Like the Roman album? Or are you doing a single now?

Honestly, no, it's not planned. I had thought about one on Ancient Egypt, but it's hard to find specific topics and engaging ideas for 10 songs.

The first point is that Cyrus, the Persian emperor, is considered the first king of Iran, and the concept of the country of Iran was formed during his time, although this concept reached its peak during the Sassanid period. Second, the childhood life of Cyrus has two stories, one is that he grew up in a poor family and a shepherd, and the other is that he grew up as a prince. The last point about his death, there are different narrations about him, but he probably died a normal death, Arrian also has this narration.
