So when ETH hasn't been given the players he needs its the clubs fault that results are not what they should be. When he gets the players he needs and they are not performing, leaking information, and results are not what they should be, it is the players fault....

it was obvious to anyone last season that Rashford's heart wasn't in it, so he clearly is one of those being referred to. However, its very easy to say players aren't trying, their lazy etc. I think it's more likely man management is the issue. Rashford was a good mate of a player that fell out with TH. That will spread round the dressing room. Is TH giving the players too much tactical information, when what they really need to do is keep it simple. Confusion leads to indecision and then you have a team that is a yard off the pace and doesn't know what to do. Things are very rarely as simple as all these players are lazy
Implicit in Benny's statements is that ten Hag is not getting a clear and understandable message over to the players as to how they can implement his instructions and this is further hindered by a lack of positive motivation. ten Hag comes across as a savant, testing his strategies out in the abstract (as far as the players are concerned) in an ivory tower world of his own. He may be tactically gifted, but it seems the message is getting lost on the players. That would go a long way to explaining their attitude on the pitch. Continual frustration on the player's part is bound to damage morale. In short, some bad-apple players and a manager who can plan but can't lead = United's wayward form of the last 18+ months.

If that's true so why will the manager pick them for games, it's on ten hag, if he can't put his foot down, and demand higher work rate from his players.
I just want to ask United fans where this clamour for Ruud Van Nistelrooy to be manager come from? He managed PSV for 53 games and won the Dutch Cup. They beat Sparta Rotterdam, Emmen, ADO Den Haag, Spakenburg (Non-league) and Ajax in the final on penalties. The Ajax decline started this season as well (After Ten Hag left for United) and they finished 3rd behind PSV in 2nd.
Van Nistelrooy resigned because a number of players complained about his coaching style and tactics. A players revolt. PSV were champions the next season and will be champions this season as well.
If the players are briefing they want Ruud then that should set alarm bells ringing. It might just be a minority of the noisiest voices shouting for RVN to take the reins but it baffles me.
They just want the feel good factor of a former player back again and this is the cheapest alternative for the club at this moment

Given his no self improvement ever since ETH came as a manager, bellow average contributions for a PL midfielder in a season, one can't render him as a hard working. This season in the defense especially the amount of effort he demonstrates on the pitch, is not of a hard working player labeled as a captain. Under the direct supervision of Mccarthy, Rashford had his only good season in his career.
Just look at Rashford he's always got a face like a smacked ass. Starts performing when a contract is due or the fans get on his back. Gets a new contract or the fans move on to another player and he goes back into chill mode 😡

I think the general assumption is that players ETH has worked with before or newly brought in, should be working their socks off. And they probably are.
It will be the players who have been there a long time, who are 3rd/4th choice who will probably be less motivated. As they can see their career at United fading. Those players need to be rooted out and if performance doesn’t improve fined or dropped from the squad.
It’s really on Ineos now to change the culture and drive the high performance mentality.

Our team needs to be trained to defend properly first, before doing all this ' high press ' business. Full backs prioritising going forward and neglecting the job of defending.
We have plenty of pace up front to just be a counter attacking team for now.
Get the results and then expand our style of play later.
I’m not Ten Hag in anymore but I still retain some hope he can turn it around but I just think some of the players just don’t have the mentality and desire to perform consistently. It’s annoying because if the players really tried and gave it their all every game the supporters would get behind them and this in turn would no doubt help them. Some seem intent to self sabotage

I agree insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome (in relation to changing managers). However, is it not also insanity to stick with someone when clearly it’s not working? We’ve been waiting and waiting for Erik’s style of play and philosophy and we’re still waiting 3 years later, expecting something else. So to want him to stay I would also argue is insanity.
