  • Today I'm making a recycled discreet trellis for the front of my house and planting a Jackmanii Clematis on it. I made the trellis out of old greenhouse shelves, and attached it to the house using cable ties. I think it turned out really good and is practically un-noticeable from the sidewalk. Can't wait to see this purple Jackmanii clematis cover up this ugly downspout and become a beautiful addition to the garden. Hope this teaches you how to make a trellis for your downspouts.

I have that exact plant and I have it on my front downspout also. Have had it there for 25 years. You will need wire to the ground for sure so the plant can find it or it will grow on the ground or latch onto other bushes by it. I think you will need another piece on the top also. lol. It is a beauty! Enjoy it!

Don't forget to share an update as to its progress to mature vine. Good job.

Awesome idea ! I think I will try this for the Clematis Vine I just purchased ! Also, I laugh😂d at your comments about thinking your tin roof is ugly but loving the sound of the rain hitting it! I’m about to subscribe to your channel! Best wishes to you!
