Jack, the 8 is being replaced this month. You say its a horrible bell, personally I dont think its that bad, OK its not as sparkly as the others but it doesnt stick out!! And I think the 11 goes much better than the 10 ;-)
Simon, I already knew about the 8 being replaced because I read the bells analysis booklet which happened to be in the tower at the time. You can't here it as well in the 12 but once you use the 6 with the 8 as tenor (which I rang Norwich Minor on), it really stands out! I am not trying to criticise the bells there because they are bloody amazing but it also said the 8 is way out of tune. I thought that both 10 and 11 went really well but the 11th will go up wrong much more easily than the 10 :)
Jack, I know you knew it was being replaced, I was filling you in on when it was!! I've heard the 8 being rung singly and as tenor to the 6 many times, its not that bad!! Just a lack of hum to her!! But I'm not doubting the new one will improve the ring!!
Tenor really is lovely!! Did everyone manage to set it OK? When I went, most people couldnt set it at all, in the end the local stood up, grabbed it, and set it first time :)

The tenor sounds bigger than 50cwt
It sounds as heavy as Exeters tenor

@WrongAndHome Its not usually worth the bother on bells that size. It's a lot less effort to flip them over once they're up.
is this the biggest bell of St. Mary Redcliffe?? It sounds beautiful.
It is all 50.5cwt in B 1902 vintage taylor bell
It doesn't look like they made any effort to get the tenor up right.
Does it matter though they got it up
