  • This is a long video going over my personal copy of the 1966 Batmobile that was just released by JazzInc Dioramas. The paint job was near immaculate and awesome. If you can go through the video of my inspection of the paint, there are some tips on how to properly handle the doors to minimize wear and tear. My extreme personal thanks to Joost and his family for this project.

    Best looking custom car ever. George Barris created an icon and this is a beautiful model.

      Absolutely!! I also think of this as a custom piece. Even though Joost was successful in getting the license from WB; the production number on this one is so limited and his operation has a personal connection to his customers it feels a better relationship than what you get from Hot Toys. I tried to relay that over my review of the product and my experience with Joost.
      Thank you for watching.

    It really arrived covered in factory worker finger prints, scratches & unpainted areas! :O

      I love the glossy paint job but this thing grabs fingerprints like the FBI. It took me a few wipes to remove them. I really looked every inch of this in the video just to show how it is, but this thing is just beautiful on my shelf. My only regret is not having the extra cash to buy two of these.

      Thank you for watching. Yes it is. There were numerous people in the group that had been studying the 1966 batmobile all their lives that helped with information to make it as accurate as possible. So lucky.

    The base coat was red. Joost had a video on early production while showing the base red body

      Thank you for watching. Yeah, I honestly don't mind seeing the undercoat. It was amusing for me to see the paint history of the car in the unseen nooks. Looking at this car over my shoulder and I am always stunned at how good it looks.

    40;12, thats kinda kool because its a 60s Era car,,,the car plants did a lot of overspray in the internals.😀

    • @amusedjester
      @amusedjester  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching. I remember those older model cars, they didn't care much about the interior, specially in the engine area and you'd get these paint oversprays. Lol.

    Is there a way to fix the red underspray ? I noticed you also have it under your front headlights. Car is great but those things will be bothering me I will be displaying it with doors open so now my mind is trying to think how I can touch up all the red underspray. Thank you for the great video never seen the bottom before and thanks for showing how to open the doors !! Great job ! Love it

    • @amusedjester
      @amusedjester  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for watching and i'm glad the door opening will help you. As for painting the red areas; I am hesitant to offer advice on this. Please ONLY do so if you are confident of your abilities as any overspray could ruin your beautiful glossy finish. **I would meticulously ensure that any parts i don't want painted is masked over and I would use an air brush rather than a paint can for accuracy. Be overly paranoid and careful of damaging your paint job to ensure that you have taken extra precautions to protect it. goodluck and enjoy your Batmobile when it comes.

      @@amusedjester thank you so much I’m a die hard bat 66 fan and will of course be carful I just don’t know if it’s possible it to fix I don’t have my car yet but the would bother me :(

    • @amusedjester
      @amusedjester  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CHB_98 Definitely possible. If i were of the same mindset, i could do it. if i were to do it. i would go overboard with the masking by covering the two halves of the car with plastic bags exposing only the immediate area and then carefully mask off the rest of the exposed areas. Also, take your time when doing it. Don't rush and examine your masked areas multiple times before you begin the paint process.

      Thank you for watching. I received and paid a shipping notice around Nov.5th. Jazzinc ships in batches so the one I was in was scheduled for 11/30 and got held up until 12/5. Once your batch ships, JazzInc will send you a notice and a tracking with it. Personally, mine was shipped on the 5th and I got it on the 12th but I am also hearing others were delayed. I hope you get yours soon, it is an item with no regrets attached.

Honestly, I am quite very happy with this. Every time I look at it, I smile. I gladly paid the 1500 with a smile.

    Jesus that’s horrible! Overpriced toy! Scuff marks and all is just way too much! For that price it should have had a chassis detail with the turbine engine!

    • @amusedjester
      @amusedjester  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You really think so? It's a lot of money for me as well. I don't usually fork money as much as this but there are exceptions in my collections that fall in this category. To tell you the truth, when I think of the price; I think, that's a real car value cost.
      I can buy a real crappy car with that money.
      But I am telling you now, for me, holding this, looking at this and what was made by this very small company (jazzinc); It is not only worth it; IT is a STEAL. Try to find someone to make one for you with the same specs and I would be surprised if they don't ask over $4k.
      But it really all depends on the buyer and what this piece will mean for him. Thanks for watching.

But whenever I glance over this Batmobile all I can feel is Lucky that it's right there on my shelf. I don't know how else to say it. I am just very, very happy I was able to get this piece in this condition.

    You can repair scratches with toothpaste.

    • @amusedjester
      @amusedjester  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching. I've heard of that trick, particularly with foggy headlights. But the scratch is so small and out of place and I barely know it's there that I don't think I want to risk damaging this beautiful glossy finish.
