Have you ever heard of the college name:- LR Tiwari Engineering College in Mumbai? In 2019 a computer science graduate of that college got 1.2 Cr package in Google which was higher than IIT Bombay's highest package that year. Does that make this local tier 3 college comparable to IIT? My point being nowadays almost all colleges do have offcampus offers of 20, 30, 40 Lpa packages easily but as the name suggests "off-campus" college plays absolutely NO ROLE in that. If you analyze on-campus placement statistics however very very very few product based companies visits these private and even govt. colleges like KGEC/JGEC every year to select 1 or 2 students with 7 or 8 Lpa package max... Majority students (if placed at all) gets into mass recruiters like TCS, CTS, Wipro with 3 to 4 Lpa package. Please don't get brainwashed by some of these "top youtubers/influencers" promoting private and govt. colleges showing Off-campus placement datas which is highly misleading. Under WBJEE, if you are looking for good placements in core companies ((On-campus especially)) then only JU and CU have decent placement data because many of the top companies in core sector do visits their campuses. In CU the highest "On-Campus" this year was from Siemens for 20Lpa and median of 8~9 Lpa for all circuit branches. If you are studying in non-core branches however like CSE, IT then college hardly plays any role since you have to apply off-campus anyways for companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart etc and your Leetcode, Github, Codechef profiles will matter more here than college tag.
