Whether you use an electric coffee maker, a French press or any other type of coffee brewing method, you may have been wondering how you can recycle all those old used coffee grounds instead of just throwing them into the bin. This is a complete waste and recycling them can save you money, so these DIY kitchen hacks are also smart and frugal.
    Here are my 7 smart and frugal DIY kitchen hacks to recycle your old used coffee grounds:
    1. Absorb food odours in the fridge
    2. Absorb bad odours in your shoes
    3. Absorb odours in the bin
    4. Fertilize your garden soil organically
    5. Exfoliate your skin (body scrub / face scrub)
    6. Exfoliate and refresh your hand
    7. Kitchen cleaner for pots, pans, grill, sink....(scouring milk)

    My daughter works in a bar, I could probably get the old grounds fri\om her. The deodoraiser for shoes is a brilliant tip since I have a teen age boy and their feet STINK, not to mention their rooms. Thanks for another great video Pats

      Oh, I am sure you could get some there. But just make sure if you want to use it that way to dry the grounds, otherwise, you risk to have a mess afterwards. 🥴

      Unfortunately we still produce "too much" waste, in my opinion. But there is work in progress. 😉

    Starbucks package their grounds and people can pick them up free. (Or at least, they used to) I sprinkle all my coffee grounds on my plants outside. Roses love them. I also compost all the veggie/fruit waste like peals, pits, seeds, and also paper & leaves compost very well.

    Brilliant, Patz! I will most definitely try a couple of those, at least. We're big coffee drinkers at home and it always seems like such a waste to just throw that out.

      @@liamc-rb9tz That's awesome! Hubby and I have been recently looking to buy a house (an old cottage) in Ireland. I have found 3 that I really like, but I am still hesitant. It's a great step to leave everything behind and to move countries. We would love to start to live more simply and most of all self-sufficient.

      I am using them for my plants as they increase the nitrogen content in soil and also in my melt and pour soaps.. :)

    hi, do I need to put the used coffee ground in the oven to dry? or I can use them straight out of a moka pot when I'm done?

      If you want to keep them for a longer time, it would be preferable to dry them first to avoid mold.

      No need to drink yourself coffee in order to benefit from the good uses, because I am team tea, so I don't drink coffee either. Simply go to a bakery or a starbuckish coffee shop and ask for their used coffee grounds. They are happy if you take some 🤗

    Should not be used as a face scrub. No! Too coarse! Bad advice. Don’t do it please. You do micro-trauma to your own skin.

      Thanks for your feedback. But I hope you don't mind if I do not agree. I am now 52 years old and I have been using it for years now and my skin has never been smoother. I wish I had known this when I was a teenager with pimples.
