feww things, first off, as a photography student I love your reactions mwah! second, this MV is heavy storyline(kinda space/future/modern pirates with time travel and its complicated no one knows whats going on tbh) so the guy with the ship and fire is the captain, its implied this is before the answer MV but after illusion, though im not 100% sure on that. the ship was on land because its a flying ship, not one in the ocean (pictured in illusion mv, i recommend this mv its beautiful and the sets are made!). Its implied that around illusion era they crashed the ship or something because theyre all like asleep on land and its a pretty big shift from the illusion mv beginning. Its implied that after they crashed/whatever happened, their stuff was either stolen or sold(?) because they have things in this mv like the ship, compass, telescope etc, that are all used in illusion and now theyre in the pawn shop or other ppl have them somehow. I am new to Ateez so I am not too into the Ateez storyline but when I saw this a thought it was related to the ship in illusion mv. I actually thought that this was a story of how they got the ship in illusion. But a lot of theories in the comments did not even mention illusion mv.
Not really a heist, more like they are getting back what was theirs. That was why the captain, Hongjoong, was so mad. They stole his ship and other things. In the document you can see that the ship is under his name. Don't forget, Ateez's storyline is about pirates.

Because of this, the arts have been banned and activities like dancing, singing, etc are illegal. HALATEEZ are outlaws for engaging in and promoting these types of passions. Personal Theory: The Destiny Ship was stollen/repossessed by the government. The document YunHo takes from the safe says the Destiny Ship was surveyed by South Korea by a "surveyor in accordance with this society's rule" and belongs to "HJ." HongJoong and MinGi are the only members who show signs of physical trauma so I assume the Destiny Ship was forcibly taken rather than bureaucratically. The other items like the sextant and telescope maybe were taken from the Ship and the boys are trying to get them back.
TMI Hongjoong burned his hair a little bit in the MV. ALSO ATEEZ's captain Hongjoong got angry because he can't find the key to their ship. Then when he threw that little ship that is on top of the piano he found that the key was actually inside it. The other members are also taking back their belongings.

They're the Halateez aka Black Pirates. ^^ Hala Hongjoong (the angry dude with eyepatch) is the Captain and he send the rest of them to collect the stolen pieces: the license, the key and money. Ateez storyline is way to complex to share in one comment but I can tell you, every MV is a storytelling masterpiece. Btw I really enjoyed the video, it was informative and you're so cute! ^^
idk how much of the fire on the piano was real (a behind the scenes is coming in a couple of days!) but some of it was bc Hongjoong said that he burnt a little bit of his hair. 😆🔥
Kpop music videos are my inspiration and the main reason I’m now majoring in film in college, the visuals just have so much care and ingenuity behind them it’s really cool to see and a change of pace from western pop videos which can feel formulaic and unoriginal eve if they are nice looking
Hong Joong is the Captain/Leader of Ateez aka the one on the piano/eye patch. At one point the 8 members went their spearate ways (aka the Guardians/masked men in white actually separated them) HJ is upset that he lost the other 7 members and the ship - but the members are coming back together and before they come back to Hong Joong they are getting the ship back (SeongHwa, YunHo, YeoSang & Jongho - the 4 who broke in & got the deed to the ship and that scene if in reference to "Money Heist" / Kingdom) The 2 (San & Wooyoung) playing poker where trying to get back the spy glass) and Mingi got back the compass after the car exploded. The ship is called the "Destiny" and the name of Ateez's fans are called ATINY (Ateez + Destiny = Atiny aka we are Ateez's Treasure)
They are not thieves, they are getting things that is originally theirs. Their ship got crashed (on the illusion and wave MV we can see that they're happy and partying but that was not their reality, and on wonderland mv captain hongjoong looks so devastated). Wooyoung and San (those guys who's playing with the cards) are going to get the map while those 4 guys who get to the pawn shop and figured out the safe is looking for the documents that is originally for their ship. When they all get the designated tools that they need to get back, they all met on the road and wait for the captain before they finally goes to their ship. Everything was connected, I can't blame you for pausing the video every 2seconds because its so dang amazing💅 Please dig on ATEEZ more deeply!! I suggest you should watch their Fever Diary Film, it's a 16 minute video presented in connection to their storyline (probably an introduction before their Inception MV) I'm sure you will like ittt💟

Yess there our little pirates go🏴☠ It is indeed so beautiful and deeply in their storyline, but basically their captain (& leader of the group, Hongjoong) has lost everything, the ship too - he is the one in the piano room with the miniature ship. The others are gathering important objects, like the captain's ownership document of the Destiny ship (in it says Owner HJ) from the safety, then 2 of them gambling for the spyglass and Mingi (the one tossed out of the car) getting what looks like a compass. And finally, they gather to meet their captain and present him their findings after he gets out of the burning house and found a key. I think you would find their Illusion & Say My Name MV's very fascinating, there's a lot to those, both also tied to their story (well more or less every ATEEZ video is). The pirate theme is quite present in them, though you might not know but ATEEZ' debut MV's Pirate King & Treasure were filmed in the desert, so it is not that strange that their ship would be there too - our pirates are a bit strange 😄 At least some of the fire in the piano scene was real as Hongjoong said he accidentally burned some of his hair, but we don't have behind the scenes video so not sure of some of the details.

You should watch the" Offcial MV making film". It shows / explains a lot. The fire on the piano was real. The guys playing cards were there when the car went through the wall. Hongjoong (guy with the piano) explains a lot of the motivations for his actions and how it relates to the story.

Also! The whole "heist" concept was to recover items to rebuild and reclaim their original ship (you should watch their 'Illusion' MV to understand that part)
if you check to their music video's behind making for "Don't Stop" you can see the fire in Hongjoong's scene are real. Hongjoong also said that his hair is almost burned out because of that. but at some part where Hongjoong walked out from the place.. that was an actually CGI.

i read a theory on twitter that someone tricked hongjoong and gave him a model ship so he sent his crew to find the real one
