This video was brilliant, thanks for making it Stuart. It's so interesting hearing you talk about heavy music from the 80s. I was still young in the 80s but when I was about 11 I received my first personal tape player, I also had a compilation tape that was mostly pop but had a Kiss song (Crazy Crazy Nights) and a Whitesnake song (Here I Go Again) on it, I must have listened to those 2 songs hundreds of times, I honestly think they started my love of heavy music. Have you read Bruce Dickinson's autobiography What Does This Button Do? It's a great read, he talks a lot about Maiden but also his fencing and pilot careers. The audiobook is fantastic as he narrates it himself.
Thanks John. It brings me back a lot of memories thinking of those times. I forgot about Kiss. They didn't rise to the level of the bands I mentioned. But I did like them. I think the first album I got was Destroyer. Mid to late 70's. Cool that Kiss and Whitesnake were your entry into heavy metal. And that we both liked them. I did read What Does This Button Do? I specifically remember him going into Yugoslavia during the civil war when he could have been captured and killed and his battle with throat cancer. If I ever decide to do a re-read, I will get the audiobook
Warlock was my favorite band at that time, but I never got to see them live. I did, however, get to see Megadeth live on a later tour, opening for either Judas Priest or Iron Maiden. I met Dave Mustaine shortly before the pandemic hit when he came up to our radio station to be interviewed.
Another great video in this series, Stuart. I don't know these bands the way I knew your mellower music, but I can appreciate the depth of your musical experience. Nice job.
Stuart, this is music that my husband listens to, so I’ll make sure he sees it. You should include links in the notes section to the other videos in this series! 💛
@@stuartgriffin1001 Stuart, it's just copying the web or url link and pasting it into the notes below your video. You can find the videos on TH-cam and copy the links and then paste them below your latest video. You definitely can do this!

As of tomorrow at 10am pre-sale, Trans-Siberian Orchestra remains the most at 18.
@@detroitpolak9904 I do know what you mean. What is written wasn't quite what was in your head. Those are all great bands. Def Leppard is a cool first concert. I hope you get great seats for Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Great first or second concert. Must have been really cool at 14. You had me beat by around 11 years. I was 25 when I saw Iron Maiden as my first metal concert

Thanks Pat. As I do videos for further decades, there will be a fair amount of mellower bands and singers as well as the heavier ones
@@stuartgriffin1001 looking forward to the rest of the series!
Man to have seen an early days GnR. Interesting video Stuart and lots of good music to go around
It was cool to catch some of those bands fairly early. Thanks Justin

We have a very similar taste in music. My first concert: 7/3/1987. 13 years old. Silver Bowl, Las Vegas. Weird Al opened for the Monkees.
Thanks for watching my video and commenting. I remember watching the Monkees TV show as a kid. I liked a lot of their songs
