      @@shepardice3775 I mean it makes sense though, Pep lost Mahrez(one of the greatest PL wingers of all time) and Gundogan a PL all time great midfielder(who usally stepped up creatively whenever KDB was out in the past)
      While i think City will bounch back, they let go of two great and very intelligent football players, that are both proven, and that type of consistency and quality is very hard to replace.

    Always been hard growing up as a Villa fan. All these stories from my cousins who are just a couple years older about the days of John Gregory... Playing in Europe, beating the likes of title winning Arsenal after being 2-0 down. Cup wins, finals etc etc. I only remember Villa playing in Europe a tiny bit in the mid 00s and after that just the slow slide down the table with the eventual relegation.
    A part of me always believed we could get back to where we once were, but what Emery (and his backroom staff) is doing is insane. The level Villa are playing at right now is something special and I don't take it for granted one bit. This form is something very special and I'm just happy to be watching good football, let along beating teams like Man City and being Conference League contenders.
    I'm enjoying every second of this season, but more than anything I'm just happy to see my beloved Villa back where they once were. UTV

    Unai's a long way to go to surpass George Ramsay, Villa manager 1884 - 1926, the world's first ever super-manager well before Matt Busby, SAF or whoever in the 21st. century. A true Villa legend and genius innovator of the English game, this Scot won 6 Championships and 6 FA Cups at Villa Park. Sadly, he's not remembered as he should be in the modern footballing world. Been a true Villan for 30+ years. We've not been the best in recent years but now Villa are starting to roar once again. Best set up ive seen in manager and owners, We've always been a big club with big history but as a fan you can feel something special going on. Since our new owners took over really We've been growing in the right direction. Emery has just been the piece of the jigsaw our owners needed to push the on field results up to par the ambition they have. Huge winning mentality going around the club now but still humble and grounded which is exactly whats needed to become a football gaint.
    I love watching my team now with every player knowing there purpose and having that six sense of where there team mates are on the field. All of them understanding and performing the tactics thats obviously been instructed to them. It really is working and showing with the results. Some pundits still put us down ( cant stand Garth crooks) but slowly they're realising Villa are becoming the reall deal.
    This season with Chelsea, Manchester utd, Tottenham and Newcastle under performing its a big opportunity to get a champions league position. I think if we can and with our manager and owners backing Villa can become a powerhouse once again for many years to come as we could attract, afford and coach some of the elite players.
    Up the Villa.

  • @Jannetts_
    @Jannetts_ ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Emery has the keys to the club already. Villa’s owners completely restructured their whole club to fit around Emery. Give him the freedom to focus on football and football alone.
    Always worth remembering. Only two players who started vs city were signed under Emery. Pau and Tielemans. The rest were all signed under Gerrard and Dean Smith years ago. McGinn was signed under Steve Bruce back in the championship!

    Fantastic watch as always brother! Im glad Unai is getting his flowers finally. He got a rough ride the first time round with Arsenal. But for many people who watched La Liga we already knew his quality from what he showed At Valencia and Sevilla. Especially at Sevilla with that Europa League 3 peat and another Europa triumph with Villarreal. I think his stints at PSG and Arsenal made people view him differently coz he struggled with those bigger dressing rooms. And thats arguably his one major weakness. He's one of those coaches who doesn't like dealing with the nonsense that comes with some big clubs and it seems its why he ends up doing so well at the clubs in the tier below that where hes allowed to fully have his influence on the team and now with Monchi behind him again it'll be interesting to see how far this project goes. Coz the one surprise for me is how well hes doing in the league coz i figured he would bring Villa into the conversations but via the cups.
    Anyways apologies for the ramble, great video as always chief 🙏🏿👊🏿💜

    Pau Torres and Diego Carlos were actually Liverpool's top CB targets the year Covid hit and wrecked everyone's finances. It was said Klopp wanted a VVD like clone that was dominant in the air and played high line and those 2 were the closest and available. It was viewed that Diego Carlos was slightly better of the 2 but was gonna be more expensive of the 2, at around 65-70 million and harder to get while Pau Torres would be in the easier to get and cost around 60-65 million. It's interesting that both of them end up at the same club in premier league and are playing a suicidal high line, just like Klopp envisioned them......

    Villa's owners are richer than the Glazers and they want to invest. Already committed and are rushing through a £100m stadium investment. Like Newcastle once we increase the FFP allowance I think they'll start spending like the top of the Prem whereas half of the team Emery's working with now are from the Championship... Can't imagine how good Villa will be with Emery with a team fully picked by him with a "big-6" level budget. Several current players will probably be sold off (half the starting 11 is valued at ~£100m now) and money reinvested next Summer to get the FFP allowance for some S-tier signings.
    There are very few teams globally with as many positive signs as Villa... and few bad losses isn't changing that wider fact.
    Also Emery isn't going anywhere, not jumping to United. Emery's men has been given every major role in Villa, Villa's owners is willing to invest more than almost all other clubs, Emery just sold his boyhood club to Villa, and Emery is being paid the 10th most in World football for a manager.

    A very good summary, you clearly know a lot about this crazy mad game qe love called football. It was a pleasure to listen to insights and you picked up on all the important key points.
    The only thing I will add is that Gerrard left all of our players feeling like they were not fit for the Prem hence the 17th spot when he was fired (we weren't scoring and we had a leaky defense). Emery had two days with the team before we played ManUnited and we beat them 3-1 🎉 that was the hint of things to come, the beginning our journey with Emery
    ...no matter the result against Arsenal we are here to stay, we will continue to improve under Emery because he will accept nothing less 😊

    At a gathering of close friends, I found that more and more friends began to pay more attention to personality and stories rather than simple brand labels. Inspired by this, I began to explore bags that can reflect personal style without being too expensive, and kislux helped me find a bag that suits my taste. This bag is both low-key and cheap, and there is really nothing wrong with it.

    I've seen Villa win the league title and be runners up twice...this experience isn't new to me and I dare say a fair few older heads. My advice to younger Villa fans is simply to believe in your club and get behind it, home and away, with 110% commitment. The pressure is ALL on the six clubs that tried to form a cartel to prevent the likes of Villa reclaiming their crown. Take it one game at a time and don't, for one moment, allow the nonsense of the London/NWest media into your heads. UTV

    As an Arsenal fan, it's concerning seeing Villa very comfortable pressing City up high and dominating the midfield. Villa players lining up to take pot shots against City...When was the last time we saw City getting pummeled like that? Bailey and Watkins have scary pace. Martinez and Torres at the back. McGuinn and Douglas in midfield. Arsenal better tighten up on Saturday.

    I love Villa fans, but...
    Villa fans condemned Gerrard for making McGinn their Captain. Said he "wasn't Captain material". Villa fans, who has captained you to 3rd in the league?
    Villa fans condemned Gerrard for moving Oli Watkins to the striker role. Said he "wasn't a striker". Villa fans, who has fired you to 3rd in the league?
    Emery was treated terribly by Arsenal too - took them to a European final in what was expected to be a transitional season. It was fascinating to hear about the circumstances surrounding his sacking in this video. Because it also explains why Arteta was shown so much lenience in his first 2 full seasons. Did what the owners wanted, while Emery just focussed on football.
    Apologies if any of that sounded aggressive (I really do like Villa fans, please don't bite my head off!) - I enjoyed the video.

      I mean it's something to think on, Gerard did not defend his players properly though, was tactically 1 dimensional, and didn't show proper respect to a squad people loved and a club that felt like just a convenient stepping stone to him.

    Leon Bailey has risen to the heights this season under this coach- Emery.Bailey feels he is one of the best players in the world which he set out to be while in Germany.This season he is improving.He is getting more tricky, more skillful, quicker and more deadly. As he continues to improve, some how, he is reminding me of Maradona. If Aston Villa gets another Bailey, namely Eric Baillie, the great defender, formerly of ManU, now on loan, at french team Monaco, they can rise up even higher and win the Premier League.

    1:59 It's worth noting that Aston Villa would not guaranteed a safety in the Premier League, even if Arsenal beat Watford and Aston Villa itself played a draw against West Ham United on the final day of the season. There is one game that they should have sealed this worst scenario, and that opponent was Sheffield United. In this game, the Blades had its free kick goal (Oliver Norwood) being controversially disallowed after the ball was caught up by the keeper (Ørjan Nyland), who somehow pushed away by Keinan Davis inside the goal while still grabbing the ball. If VAR recognizes that action as a goal and the result stands, Aston Villa would be relegated and Sheffield United have a chance to qualify for the European competitions because the Blades, at that time, were still inside Top 6!

    • @Wizross
      @Wizross ปีที่แล้ว

      It's also worth noting that golden goal was being used in this game, so the match would have ended as soon as Sheffield United scored, meaning Aston Villa wouldn't have had the opportunity to turn the score around, ensuring the Blades won.
