I love watching how easily people thread needles: I am there for ten minutes trying to do. Even if I try one of the needle threaders it takes me ages to get the threader through the needle! Thanks for getting straight to the point on your video: very useful.
I just bought the 128 for $50. It needed new wiring and the knee peddle needed to be replaced because it was stuck in the on position. It now has a foot peddle. Thank you for this video. It helped me to become acquainted with my new machine. :)
I already have a working Singer 201 inherited from my Mother and also two modern machines, but on walking past a gate where a 128 had been abandoned with a “Free - Take Me” sign, I couldn’t just walk on. It seems criminal to just leave it there so I brought it home with me as a project to see if I can get it working. Even if I am successful, I think they are beautiful machines to look at, so I’m happy either way!!
Great video! I was on the phone with a friend in New Mexico as we both watched the video as she threaded the bobbin, threaded the shuttle, and then threaded the needle on her 127 with total success! I've shared it with my Pinterest board so I can remember what to do when I'm ready to thread mine! Thanks so much for the terrific instructions!
Thank you!!! The bobbin reloading video just kept me on a project instead of trying to buy one pre-threaded and having to wait. I’ll check the oiling one next to keep it purring, I got a 1929 singer 128 for my paintball apparel and gear company. Slides over denim with ease and looks insane rethreading the bobbin, like futuristic sci-fi from a 93 year old machine.
I just got one of these little sister machines and am IN LOVE! However I had never seen a bobbin like this. I am very grateful for your lovely clear instructions.
I love how you tube has an answer for near everything! Had to put my usual sewing machine in for a service and all I could get to do in the meantime was a 1914 hand crank one. This video will really help me figure it out. Thank you 😊
Really helpful video. Great presentation, clear instructions and very good camera work. The 127's & 128's are great work horses of machines. It's been about a decade since I've used my 127. Your videos help refresh my memory. Me, I'm sewing automotive upholstery and curtains for a VW Camper Van. Thank you for your help.
Your directions are very clear and easy to follow. Thank you. I just was given a 128 that was stored in a barn...so will look forward to getting it back into working order.
Great information and tutorial ... I have just purchased a 127J Singer head and am learning. You have been most helpful in learning how to thread and wind the bobbin. Many thanks, I do want to know how to clean and restore also. Thanks.
Very good video. Nicely done and very informative. I've recently come into possession of a 1910 model 127 and this video is just what I was looking for to learn about it. Thanks!
Thank you for a great tutorial! I have had that exact machine sitting on a shelf for a few years and never had the time to really get to know it. The motor no longer works but I'm hoping to find a repair kit soon.
This was super helpful as I am learning to sew and use this machine. However I cannot get the pedal to get the needle moving. Any suggestion or guidance on a video or webpage? I appreciate how unique your videos are and how helpful they are!
You did a great job of showing how to thread the bobbin. I can’t get my little arm to move back and fourth to thread the bobbin. It seams loose. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Can you help me with some trouble shooting. My machine has the manual and I am sure I threaded everything properly, but it doesn't seem to hold the needle properly and it's not catching the bobin thread.... is there a casing around the part the needle slides into.... also mine is a hand crank machine
Do you know if I can swap out the 192835 knee lever controller with a 192213 unit? They use different types of knee levers and I don't have one for the original 192835.
Good morning! Love the video, I just got my machine, and I’m wondering what kind of thread is best to use, I work with a lot of vinyl and jeans. Thank you
I was glad to find your video on properly threading the bobbin and machine! My machine is not electric, but is instead a hand-crank model! The serial number is F515330 and I am trying to find the date it was made. Do you have an idea as to where I can access that information? Thank you so much!!!
Very nice video! Really informative! Thank You! I have the exact same machine! Mine the knee control is broken inside machine I'm gonna see if I can have it welded. They sew very well!
Released at wheel to stop sewing but it continues sewing motion. Also bobbin winder does not rotate to fill bobbin when pushed back. Any ideas? I love old machines. Learned to sew on at 13, I’m 70 now. Please help.
Hello- This is great, but I still need some help with how to correctly put the thread into the bobbin. Is there an email where I can reach you? Thank you- Patti
Hi, I'm from France. I have the same machine as yours. I have a problem. When running, backward the wire breaks immediately. If a person can have a solution. Thank you so much.
If it is one of the older ones, it is not supposed to run backward. Only the newer machines have that capability. On the really old ones, you need to turn the fabric to sew backwards.
Tension is adjusted though 2 adjustments the tension disc on the front of the machine (as seen here th-cam.com/video/VVA0Tv7ZeOY/w-d-xo.html) and the bobbin case itself. You work to find the balance of when the thread locks in the fabric is does not pull the bobbin thread though or the top thread down. This Video may help :) th-cam.com/video/S43_-Z6C114/w-d-xo.html Best to start getting the bobbin tension set then work on the tension disks
Thank you so much for this video. I just got a 128 and this video got me going! Your video was so easy to understand. Thank you!
I reference this video each time I pull my 127 out. Thank you for making this, and your other vintage sewing videos!
Lady you are awesome, ive finally been able to dust off the machine i bought years ago at a flea market and use it properly because of your video
I know it wasn't the intent of this video, but I now know what parts are missing from my 127 project.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you so very much. This has been so very helpful. I am picking up my 128 today from the restoration shop and I couldn't be more thrilled.
Where did you fine a restoration shop? I have a 127 treadle I want to get restored!
I love watching how easily people thread needles: I am there for ten minutes trying to do. Even if I try one of the needle threaders it takes me ages to get the threader through the needle! Thanks for getting straight to the point on your video: very useful.
What a beautiful sewing machine! vintage items are such a keepsake! and love how simple your tutorial is!

I just bought a Singer 128 from an Estate Sale for $75.00 and she runs sweet just needs cleaned and oiled, thank you for showing me how to thread it 🥰
Lady, you are awesome. I have a foot powered machine that I been trying to get going and you shown me the way. Thankyou
Thank you so much!!!I got the 128 from my grandmother and your video was so so helpful to prepare her for action!!!🥰😻
Wonderful!

Your ivideo and nstructions are the best I've seen..... so clear and visually easy to see the parts. Thanks you !!!

Incredibly well done! First one I've seen that was perfectly informative!
Thank you so much! I bought my 128-13 yesterday ❤️❤️

Glad it was helpful! They don't make the machines like they used to that is for sure, they are great work horses!
Thank you! Great instructions--such a great reference and support for getting started with my new to me 127-3!
Beautiful machine.

Thanks for the great video! I'm still learning to use mine, this was easier than using a manual lol
Very precise and clear instructions
Great video! I just got a 127 Sphinx/Memphis with treadle base. Thanks for the nicely done video!!
I love the multicolored pattern on that one! I have a 128 but its a hand crank with a super simple decorative pattern only in gold color
This was great. Thank you! I have a manual Singer machine and need to learn tention and oil service on it.
Really clear and easy instructions.
Thank you so much!! Was just what I needed to see to get started.
Super Helpful!! Thanks so much!

Thank you very much! Now i know.
I bought almost the same mashine made in Podolsk.
Thank you for a great tutorial! I have had that exact machine sitting on a shelf for a few years and never had the time to really get to know it. The motor no longer works but I'm hoping to find a repair kit soon.
Good instructions. Now for a try out.
Very helpful and to the point. Thank you!

Xx
Very nice,thanks
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much! 😍
Can a treadle be operated with just the wheel like a hand crank if you want to use it that way?
Thank you very much for the video! Great help 👍 but how do you stop it from coming undone at the beginning and end?
Thank you! 🖤

i just inherited a hand crank and ive been able to thread properly but it doesn't seem to catch the lower thread while sewing.
Same problem. I have the manual and both the manual and this video seem to miss a step
Good morning!
Love the video, I just got my machine, and I’m wondering what kind of thread is best to use, I work with a lot of vinyl and jeans. Thank you
I'm a fan of Gutermann thread! You should be able to find a heavy weight thread in any brand for vinyl and jeans. 🙂

Thank you Moe! My fingers are crossed that you can get the knee lever fixed one day. 🤞
@@CraftcoreDIY me too i got it free anyways the machine I cleaned and repaired it! I just use another foot controller for now!
@@k-michael8014 That's amazing! Great deal! I think I ended up paying $99.99 CAD for this one. It's one of the pricier machines in my collection. :)
@@CraftcoreDIY I'm sure its well worth it! Mine needed repairs cleaning and adjusting!

Thank you!
You're welcome!
Nice video, please direct me to your oil points, I'm sorry I can't find it. Thank You.
Manuallibs has a free PDF download of the manual with excellent diagrams for everything (except threading)
Nicely done but please use a felt under the spool to prevent lashback!
I need learning more
I've been looking online for a manual for this machine but without success. Anyone have any leads?
Hi Christopher! Try this link from ISMACS: ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/manuals/127-128.pdf 😀
Yhank you. I have a similar one
thanks!
Tenho uma iqual veio da Inglaterra após querra e só falta a bobina será que existe ainda para comprar?
Desculpe, eu não falo português. 😔 Can you reask in English?
Your machine is lovely. You need to adjust the tension, it's too tight. I have a 1903 Singer 28k hand crank .
I'm surprised there isn't a tension disc needed for the bobbin

It did! My 1936 127 is a dream with the hand crank action 😍 thank you so much for posting these videos!!!
hola tengo una y para que sirve esa palanca que usa esa maquina y llega asta la rodillas responda por favor
Es para controlar la velocidad del motor electrico.
looks like the hand wheel is running crooked
Seems like there's a problem with your balance wheel. Lovely looking machine, but i think you might be chasing ghosts if you actually want to use it.

Great video
Thankyou so much!
Glad it helped!
