if you don't invest your money, inflation is just going to eat it up. Invest directly through an ETF stock buy and hold until your compounds enough to put a down payment for a home etc. regular TFSA earn you 3-4% interest at best. So your goal is to invest in stocks that earn 7-10% in interest. Like the saying goes work smarter not harder.

Unang dating q dito s Canada back in 2012, bisikleta lng aq. Rented with others to save. First vehicle 3rd hand, worth CAD700.
After PR, worked full-time and part-time. Still lived with others to save on rent. Just walked to and from work. By the way, im a single parent with 1 child. Kya at least meron aq npgiiwanan s knya dati. God was gracious to us as well n walking distance ung work, school, at grocery.
I was very against owning a house dati, as you pay everything plus meron pdn nmn taxes and repairs. But, as time went on, and seeing the massive increase in population, i knew not soon enough the housing and reting market will increase. Ung tinitipid q for repairs and taxes, soon we'll be at the mercy of the landlord. May magagawa b kme if gusto nya gawin 5k ung rent, for example. Either you pay, or move out. Kya, by God's grace, my daughter and I have our own house n. Lapit pdn s lahat. Its not big, but its enough. Meron ndn kme vehicle. 3rd hand nnmn, but it works and its all that matters.

I agree do not convert ever your expenses here to PhP peso kasi you will sound rediculous!
First you live and earn here so you spend here...end of the story..(mind set )
-the windsheild as long as it does not impede your sight driving as per police it is fine
However once it crack it will creep more so do not waste your money with repair
When you have money just change the windsheild
-owning a house is still expensive ( i agree) renting is still cheeper alternative ( minus the maintenace)
-owning a house you have to be ready. People realize that until they start paying.
Mortgage is not the only thing you will pay however your proud owner of a beautiful house.😂
    TIME WILL.COME BE PATIENT

Actually the real owner is the bank ( kinda!)
Since you borrowed the money from them ....lets say parang bumbay "
They lend you the money to pay for it for the next 20-25 years after you pay ...then it is yours however you already have the title of the property so it is your responsibility if you cannot pay the mortgage ( default ) then the back will foreclose .
It is same for everyone not only in Canada
If you have tons of money then you do not need the help of the bank
Since most of us cannot afford to pay those hundreds of thousands right out so you need to borrow
In the philippines puwede mo utay utayin LOL ..( buy land first then build the house parang pay as you go ) not everywhere else .
So you probably does not understand the concept ...my parents was same and our house in the philippines ..utay utay
However here in Canada( anywhere else ..if you cannot pay the whole price ) we have to borrow coz we do not have that tons of money ...downpaymets lang LOL
I think few people exaggerate " we bought the house ..expensive and they will tell you the price " ikaw naman nakikinig convert mo ...e malaki nga
...they barrowed the money to purchase from the back ( mortgage)
Hopefully i explined it better LOL

Ok lang yan. Normal yan dito halos lahat ng windshield dito may ganyan dahil sa natatamaan ng bato kapag winter. Need lang palitan kapag naapektuhan na vision ng driver.

Alwyn, welcome to a Capitalist Country North America. All Landlords goal are to make money on there Property. Tenants has to pay the cost of living increases, That’s Normal. All workers are receiving Salary increases on there pay too plus Promotions every year. Always move forward . Save your money for Downpayment and build your credit Score from 680- 850. 700 is consider good, 850 is excellent. Then buy a Condo or a House and get a fix rate mortgage !

I doubt salary increases are keeping up with inflation as rent for many Canadians nowadays account for more than 50% of their income instead of the recommended 30%.

Yari na naman ang western countries , on going ang G7 summit sa Italy. Yun pag-uusapan na naman mga policies at sigurado apektado ang taxation...ibang level talaga ang cost of living ...slowly from socialist to capitalism ang western countries ...

@@tunaypinoy7201 Expect to pay more taxes in the future as Canada is getting pressured by G7 members to meet the Defense spending requirements. Canada has been riding the other G7 nations on defense spending for years and now they're being called out as freeloaders. A significantly larger defense budget ain't gonna come cheap and some social and health programs will likely get cut backs.
