if you want to lower the fastest way at no expense Just loosen those 2 nuts in the middle of those Beams and turn the HEX HEAD SCREWS the same amount of turns counter clockwise then tighten the nuts simple fix, i learned it at a Volkswagon Tech School in 1978
Just for anyone wondering... beams should always be narrowed from the center only. The mounting brackets for the frame head need to be cut off and re welded back to the proper position. Never narrow from the outsides as it puts a lot of stress on outsides of the beam and it can snap! I've seen it happen luckily not while driving on the road!
i want to use 17" wheels on all four corners, i will be using wide 5 to ford 4.5 adaptors ( very thin space) the wheels are 17 x 7 x 5 x 114.3 with + 40 mm ( these wheels can be seen on ebay if needed, just let me know) would like the tires to be just under the fender lip, please any help would be great
ok i am ready to find the right tire wheel combo for my '64 bug, i have been told 4" narrowerd beam to make my tires work, my question is if i narrow 4" what happens to the shock towers, if i narrow any amout the shock towers will hit the body??
Im not sure on that narrowing stuff. I dont really do it. I know they use flat bar to make them for some applications but I am not sure on the specifics on what narrow does what.
@@tetra4411 yea make sure it was cut and turned. most of them have adjustable beams and can be raised up with loosening the middle snd jacking up the car. simple process.
