Even if not many know about Charo, the fact the producer cast a Latin dancer in what's supposed to be a morbid play makes this skit timelessly hilarious!

I'm Mexican-American and was a kid/teen when these shows were airing and I loved it. Charo was also a very popular entertainer back then, she was on Love Boat and who knows how many other shows, so this is a complement to be portrayed by Carol Burnett in a funny skit. I never have had any problem with it. I can't speak for anyone else. p.s. Charo actually came out in another Carol Burnett sketch with Carol as Charo's mother and so Charo was apparently just fine with Carol's portrayal of her in the skit.

A favourite has to be " Went With The Wind", especially the curtains : " I saw them in the window, and couldn't resist them! " Love seeing the famous guest stars, especially Vincent Price, usually associated with horror films! I love the skit on ' The Waltons', where Vincent is not immediately recognisable as the father ! Shows a great sense of humour.☺. The tall guy (Lyle?) reminds me of Rock Hudson .. 🙂 Love the sound effects too : bumps, crashes, crunches, etc ! With so much sadness and serious problems all around us, these shows are a valuable escape! Thank you so much ! 💕🌹☺🌹💕

Bob Mackie designs for Carol were SO outrageous and well made that after Carol's send up of 'Mildred Fierce' in which Mackie made Carol a spectacular 40'a beaded gown with big Cawford shoulders, Joan wrote her to let her know that "the production values and her outfits were better than 'cheap effing Jack Warner'!

Little continuity problem there - Harvey's ham actor character on the marquee was listed as "Alfred Mundane," yet Lyle as stage manager addressed him as "Mr. Funt." One side must've gotten it wrong . . .
This show had the best costume and set designs ever. Always loved Carol but these TH-cam videos remind me of how talented Harvey Korman was.
