To figure out the diameter of your flat circle all you need to know is the circumference of the head. An adult woman's head averages about 22 inches. The formula is to divide your circumference by 3.14. Head circumference 22 : 3.14 = 7.00 inches. Now you know your circle needs to be 7 inches. To get the correct height (from top of crown to bottom of the ear) you divide your circumference by 10 and multiply this number times 4. Head circumference 22 : 10 = 2.2 x 4 = 8.8. So the hat height should be 8.8 inches. Hats are generally made about an inch smaller in circumference than the circumference of the head. This keeps the hat fitting snug and to keeps it from falling off. Start the same like baby hat and continue increase until you will get 6.5" or 7" approx crown, then crochet down, also start with FPdc and last stitch also should be FPdc it is hide join stitches. Hope you can make. :)

You can try, just hat will be a little bit smaller. I used big crochet hook to make hat softer. Also I have video for the same hat, just 1 strand of yarn. 6.00mm crochet hook. I think you can use #4 yarn and 5mm crochet hook. You have to try different ways :)

Stripes you can make where you like. If you want ear flaps then you can make from this other video just leave more stitches for neck between one ear flap and other. Maybe 1 or 2 stitches more for ear flaps than baby size.

1 strand of yarn DK/ Light worsted #3 and 6.00mm crochet ( you can use this pattern 6-12 months for size 3-6 months and use crochet hook 5.00mm hat will be smaller in natural way). 6-12 months video much better quality video.

To figure out the diameter of your flat circle all you need to know is the circumference of the head. An adult woman's head averages about 22 inches. The formula is to divide your circumference by 3.14.
Head circumference 22 : 3.14 = 7.00 inches. Now you know your circle needs to be 7 inches.
To get the correct height (from top of crown to bottom of the ear) you divide your circumference by 10 and multiply this number times 4.
Head circumference 22 : 10 = 2.2 x 4 = 8.8. So the hat height should be 8.8 inches. Hats are generally made about an inch smaller in circumference than the circumference of the head. This keeps the hat fitting snug and to keeps it from falling off.
Start the same like baby hat and continue increase until you will get 6.5" or 7" approx crown, then crochet down, also start with FPdc and last stitch also should be FPdc it is hide join stitches. Hope you can make. :)

You can try, just hat will be a little bit smaller. I used big crochet hook to make hat softer.

I think you can use #4 yarn and 5mm crochet hook. You have to try different ways :)
