When Ben Goertzel says "the AGI /ASI that we create" he should be saying "the ASI that I create". A very few people like Ben decided on behalf of humanity that it was time to create a new species that would top the ladder of dominance in the world. Without the rest of humanity having a word to say despite the huge risk therein. AI regulation is a democratic necessity and an absolute priority regarding the existential risk involved for humankind.

Faith maximizes intelligence beyond this seen realm because its not seen but yet it is the substance of things hoped for. Quantum theory/ physics is only the imitation or other terminology of the term faith which means the God/Elohim of the bible Is and was correct all along and is indeed the creator of all things beginning and end!!! ELOHIM= THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!
the vast majority of humanity is dead weight and you wouldnt want them to have a vote anyway, where do you think our current trajectory of overpopulation, waste disposal, energy usage and consumption is headed?
Maybe someone somewhere thinks of you and your family as a dead weight to be scrapped. This is not how a normal human being able of empathy sees the world.

I dont think (and lets not define) "normal" humans run the world or make the biggest decisions because theres no power or influence in empathy. I am definitely mostly normal and quite empathetic, i wont pretend ill have any say in the outcome but its up to me as an individual to stay relevant and do what I can for the best of my family. progression is an unstoppable force, just face it the right way
Consciousness is a name we give to the operation of sensing then treating information. Animals with a neural system, smartphones, vehicles and machines with sensors and processors all display what we used to call consciousness. There is nothing magical about it. Our ability to reflect on ourselves makes us think there is something special there. The subjective sensing experience can be replicated in a robot. This notion of "consciousness" should by now join notions like "ether" ou "soul" into the philosophical museum.
