Carts are literally recarted
2014, while I was in culinary school in North Carolina. Most of them were diverted from the Colorado recreational market or the Washington State medical market. I was never a fan. They've gotten better, and I usually have one on me, but they make up maybe 10% of my cannabis consumption.
I bet that 👕 lasts as long as my tobacco water pipe from them...bought in 2014 and still going strong. Triple fritted disc with turbine splash guard. Best functionality imo. Love you bro..but that cotton mouth is sooo distinct in your videos..I thought it was your mic..but then I put 2 and 2 together lol
All live resin carts are fake too, live resin is thca (thca is a solid) so in order to get it to work in a pen they they have to decarb it, during that process, they lose all the Turpines. They can collect them and put them back in but that’s not live resin anymore, same with the liquid diamonds! I mean, it might be conceivable if you add enough terps to THCA you could get a liquid but I highly doubt that is the case because it would take a ridiculous amount of terps I would expect to make thca liquid without a decarb
I hit it two months or so ago at work from a coworker because I was a weed virgin and said ahh fk it.

Most of the carts I see are pretty upfront in their labeling, they tell you that it’s distillate, and its literally just flavors added in. As long as you research the brand or actually trust the dispo, (maybe a peek in the grow room ;)) the live resin carts I’ve been getting are perfect.
I've noticed Live Resin is getting more attention to the point it's cheaper than what it used to be over here.
He knew it was distillate. What he was saying is they don't use single specific strains to make the distillate. All strains get mixed together.

Your 100% right! I ran an extraction lab for a national company an that is exactly how it is done. Same with " live resin" vapes. It's just distillate and live terps, that's it. Keep spreading the knowledge!

I was always curious about this because alot of dispensaries are so vague with what the strain of carts actually are or whether it's Indica/Sativa/hybrid etc and their often inconsistent with effects
indica and sativa dont have a specific effect. indica weed can have a 'sativa high' its all based on the strain and person smoking it
Cant believe strain names anymore. Theres no real consistency. The only thing that really matters is terpenes when it comes to the more nuanced differences in effects
That's because 1. strains can be quite misleading and 2. yeah, _most_ carts are distillate with terpenes added after. Live Rosin though is real shit.
What kills me is Cookiez, a brand I can now buy legal in Canada, used to be the worst street carts imaginable. Yeah it was totally people buying packaging online and filling carts themselves, but IDK why you'd still use that brand name. It just reminds me of getting pneumonia. Also, it tastes like a butter popcorn jelly belly. Which unless you like them, you know are the devils kidney stone of jelly beans

Cookies was a brand with high standing and superior quality created by Berner who also cultivated the Girl Scout cookies strain and many others. The fake cookies carts were using their good name to sell their shit products riding the coattails of a legitimate company

big problem with carts - all carts - is that the first 1/2 smokes pretty alright but that second half is rough AF and hits progressively weaker as the thc burns off your left with that last 1/8 that tastes awful and your hitting blinkers just to feel the spins. lately i've been getting tired of carts since i found $80 oz of flower.
Are you sure you're not just blasting your tolerance? I've never heard anyone say this before (and it's not my experience either), I think you're just demolishing your tolerance. Also stop hitting blinkers you're compounding the problem lol.
do i smoke alot of weed? yes. however the same thing happens (to everyone) when smoking a bowl of flower as the tch is exposed to heat it breaks down the first hit is the strongest and as the bowl burns the hits get progressively weaker. it has nothing to do with individual tollerance. the exception to this is a joint which collects resin as it burns and progressively hits stronger as the roach condenses you have alot to learn kid.

Oof lol I work at a dispensary for Evermore (grower in Maryland) we don’t use the same distillate and extract in our carts, I’ve went to our kitchen and grow facility and saw how it was done. Guess I’m not getting O.pen anymore lol

Botanical or cannabis terpenes, doesn't matter to me. So long as it has been extracted properly a terpene is a terpene is a terpene. The linalool from cannabis and the linalool from lavender are exactly the same.
That's not entirely factual but you're entitled to believe what you want.

Ima be a hundred with you, i actually knew this before going into carts but tbh, some cart companies nowadays actually at least take care of whatevers inside. Yeah, it's still like a snowcone with flavoring but I'd rather a snowcone with flavoring type of cart than mf vitamin E acetate or glycerin, and if it gets you high, well hey, it seems to work out!

Bro its a shame, i used to run a closed loop hydrocarbon blast, i cant tell you all the seedy shit that regular consumers dont know about. Like i could blast some live res out of some MAC 1 trim, but then a specific terpene profile would get added to it in post processing. All of a sudden the MAC 1 live resin is being packaged and sold as Cherry Zkittles or some shit. Blew my mind, and totally changed my thought process when it comes to recreational weed. The strain of concentrate you buy, might not be that strain at all, just its terp profile.
I'm not as skeptical about carts as one stoner probably should be; for someone who lives in a not fully legal state (d8, d10, hhc, thc-o, thc-p, etc.) I typically struggle to get the "real deal" carts but since I've found a person with the closed unscrewable full spectrum carts I've just been going with them since I live with someone who isn't okay with the smell of flower or even dabs. Carts are just good for being sneaky about smoking. Nothing more or less, if I had my own place and was fully comfortable to do so, flower and dabs will definitely be my primary smoking preferences. For now I choose not to argue with the people I live with 🤣
Oh yeah I learned about this in 2018 when I was acquaintance's with a few inside the industry high up people. I believe it's actually pretty standard, some have higher quality terps than others. Unless it's a Rosin cart that's probably what you're getting.
What do they mean when they say “live resin” vs “live rosen”?
If it is a cannabis derived terp, what does it matter? Carts that use non cannabis derived terpenes are the problem here.

The early vapes would kill your lungs. My friend got a nasty lung infection from glycerin vape carts. The new distillate ones are good but you have to be careful because it ruins your tolerance.

Man, I remember the O. Pens from like, 2013-2014-ish. Those things were terrible, but the magnets were rad.
Here in Washington State, O-Pen partnered with growers and you could add your grow capability to the cooperative and get free carts every month. Good deal for what were horrible carts at the time.

5 star extracts in michigan is delicious, and you get a little sticker for every strain of live resin with a cartoon of it when you get a gram puck. Like if i remember right larry og is a lemon dunking a basketball or something. its cool.
I know for a fact that Trulieve does that, all their carts are just whatever they grew the most of and they’ll just recreate the terp profile with BDT. Their CDT/CO2 is extracted from the actual plant that it says it is. They all hit great so I didn’t really give a shit.

This is why I just smoke flower. Too many fakes. Especially here in Cali. I mean I got some good carts with good liquid but it wasn’t the real thing. After that I just moved back to straight herb. Every now and then I’ll get crumble to put on my herb but I just smoke straight flower most times.

the poor budtender down in AZ must have been so lost as to why I was so utterly confused and thrown off when he told me that ALL of the carts in AZ are flavored.
I stepped away from distillates almost entirely. Jetty got me good on their distillates for anxiety, so that's the only one I'll get at this point.

I dont know if you got one by the time you put this vid up but im excited to use the poker and throw away the safety pin i use to clean by bowls of resin ant the scissors or knife to open up my joints so i can use leftover bud to combine and make new joints. I also got an electric grinder bc i have arthritis in my knuckles and wrists and im only 45 lol. It is a cart that you usually screw onto a rechargeable battery. Disposables come with the oil and battery in a combined housing but otherwise they are kinda the same.

I do notice difficult of strains to a point.same with carts I get,because I always buy a new brand of carts,they are different.If it comes down to it,I am not a huge pot smoker were names stand a lot but I do notice different strains have different effects to a point.Longs its clean gets me high at a good price, I do not care.I do but I dont.
Just because ur making a cart with distillate doesnt mean its bad. It has more to do with quality of distillate and other ingredients. Live terpenes definitely help. I get this full spectrum CBD oil thats about 40% CBD and the rest is minor cannabinoids, it has a dark color and its own plant like flavor. I add enough to put about 7% CBD and about 4% extra minor cannabinoids into my distillate along with canna derived terpenes, it tastes and feels very similar to live resin. Most high thc strains dont like to produce very much of the other cannabinoid spectrum, so even if u have live resin its mostly just thc and live terpenes anyway. However it was made it just matters whats in the finished product. I let people try mine and they just say it tastes like straight dabs.
Different terps can cause different effects, it is a big let down that they are all the same strain though. I haven't used carts in a long time, I'll always prefer just smoking actual weed
