Reminds me of my childhood days in Lilongwe, Malawi in the early 80s. This was a hit song and had dominated Malawi airwaves. It played in many houses in our neighbourhood and across the country. It was a great song, this one! A favourite to many. Brings back all the good memories of those good old days.
Interesting to hear it was a hit in Malawi. Did you understand what they were singing about? It was a hit here in Zambia too, but I suppose this just underscores the art of music: universal.
Truly African music .2022 still informative and meaningful, this music will still be playing in the next century. Timeless music with texture and substance. .
The extreme skill of playing bass guitar upside down only coz your left handed and at such a time when technology was still developing..this bass guitarist deserves so much respect🙌🙌 These men were great👏👏
Wait! I am a musician in my own right and i am shocked that there is a bassist here. Let me look again😮...Oh my God you are right, it's the man next to the lead vocalist and indeed he plays bass left handed and upside down 😮😮😮 Thank you for mentioning it.
Funny how I still dance to Mulemena Boys since my childhood back in Zimbabwe, even though I do not understand the lyrics. I wish I asked my late father, he was a huge Mulemena Boys fan and this reminds me of him dancing and singing alone.
Reminds me of my late father Mr. Ntanda Kapafu. He was proudly Kaonde and I am proudly Kaonde. The message in this song is so profound, denouncing gossip and infighting in the village/community.
Reminds me of my legends like my dad and great men like Brian chibangu Emmanuel mulemena and others.Listening to this song on Bluetooth with my mum here in chongwe.20/09/24 but heard this song in 1979 rest easy my men
I should thank the coming of TECHNOLOGY 👏👏👏👏 Am just seeing my late dad playing the record we used to call them LP. I see him playing this song whilst dozing kikikiki those days rest on dad Alex.
This is the song i used to play more especially when am being troubled by my guardians. It tells and reminds me how life is when you are poor. May your soul rest in peace.
The band: Brian Chibangu on lead guiter and vocals, Gift Chisha on rythm guiter and vocals and Joseph Muntemba on bass guiter. The lads were initially the sound inspectors with the late Emmanuel Mulemena.
