A few more updates from my most recent visit on April 23: - Lil Phantom has been painted purple (forgot to mention that in this video) - Kandy Kaleidoscope has a new sign on the building, and it's massive! - Steel Curtain reopened on Saturday, but went down again on Sunday (no surprise there) - The Pepsi refill stations are having some problems; I could not find one that had not frozen on the scanning screen for the entire day. - Some new merch has started appearing in the gift shops, but not a lot of it. Here's hoping for some new Phantom merch. - Skycoaster has been confirmed to be closed for the entirety of 2022. Removal imminent? - The Swing into Spring food offerings are surprisingly good. I recommend the fish & chips and especially the quesadillas.
For a second there I thought you said sky rocket instead of skycoaster and I got so sad because I love sky rocket, but I really wouldn't care if the skycoaster got removed because they are expensive and you can find them everywhere else
@@PriceWordplay at my home park Waldameer, we've been cashless since 2012 and I think it's an excellent system there and pretty simple to use. I don't get why most people are complaining when most parks just switched to a similar system and in a world where card is the preferred method of transaction. Really goes to show Waldameer was way ahead of it's time and it's about time most parks like kennywood switch over.
I've been waiting for this video!!!! You did a great job wrapping up all that was new to the park. Only things that I didn't catch in here was purple Lil' Phantom, the new Doc Popcorn stand that replaced the Kennyville lemonade stand, and the reconfigured Potato Patch queue (you get food first and then pay). Another very minor thing that I liked seeing was that the 2nd vortex tunnel on Noah's Ark actually got a new wallpaper this year and it looks great! But other than that, you covered basically every major park change. I'm just as excited to see what the future brings for this new chapter in the park's history!
i just got back from my first visit of the season today! the park is looking the best it ever has in my opinion, and everything is running great. gotta get myself a season pass and do some night riding this summer!! 🔥🔥🔥
Great stuff as always! Here’s hoping more gets added inside of the Old Mill! Also I heard they are still debating on what to do with the Experience building. Possibly a place to hold big events in.
I couldn't go passholder day. Darn adulting. But going this Sunday. Cannot wait to see the improvements. I hear you about going a lot to Kennywood. Usually 10 times a year.
I didn't go into Kiddieland at all since I was in such a hurry to film around the entrance before the rain got worse, so I completely forgot about Lil Phantom.
I went to the park on Saturday and was like "wait a minute...they redid a lot of stuff here" and it made me so excited because I've been literally going to Kennywood probably every single summer since I was like 5 (so a total of 22 years) and it just looked so nice. Even really minute changes/details like mowing the grass near the Turtle and the Thunderbolt, painting the fencing black, or even installing photos of Kennywood in the past near the Jack Rabbit just made it look a lot more vibrant and modern. I personally think they did a really great job with these changes (definitely going to miss the Paratrooper and the Bayern Kurve though that's for sure) *I would also like to know what's going on with Raging Rapids. It wasn't filled when I went to other day which made me kind of sad because that's also one of my favorites
I think it looks great and can't wait for even more editions. I got my pass for the year and it will be neat to see things slowly change as I go over the year (like the Kangaroos coming back). I am really curious as to what will be on top of the Candy Kaleidoscope.
I Love the park I gone on pass holder preview day and had a great time I love all the improvements they have done and I cant wait to experience it again when I visit next
Here is the biggest mystery. After all this money pumped into the park this year and lots of construction, why was the Volcano facade not removed? Is there another ride coming in there named volcano? Its weird that everything from these old rides were removed except this facade and rock formation with a sign "Volcano." What is your guess?
I remember hearing rumors late last year that a Zamperla Air Race was supposed to go in Volcano's old spot, so maybe that got delayed. That could explain why no work has been done yet on that area.
Looks modern while still keeping things old school. Kennywood has a knack for that. Looking forward to seeing the Thunderbolt paint job in real time. Going in June. Greetings from Canonsburg.
I went last Saturday for passholder day. I enjoyed all the bright colors and repaints. I still dislike ravens revenge purple color but that’s just me. Awesome job on videoing kennywood. Keep it up.
I’ll miss the paratrooper. I also miss Le Cachot, Enterprise, Swing Around, Rotor, Enterprise, Rotor and the original Gold rusher. The 90s was an awesome time for Kennywood.
I want there reasently its sooooo fun I went on the steel and curtain bro my mom screamed like shit lol😅 I also seen the jack rabbit but its line was to long so my mom and I went to phantoms revenge also I got free cotton candy from the candy lady she was nice and the Pittsburgh plung was soaking but fun and also I recommend kenneywood😊🎉
Skycoaster is most likely being removed. The park hasn't confirmed it yet, but they haven't run it in a couple years, all signage mentioning it has been removed, and the park has also removed the cables and lift motors attached to the tower as well.
"Nostalgia Park" new Kennywood park name. This park could have AT LEAST one new modern flat ride and roller coaster. A few people complained and they kept inferior rides for purely nostalgia reasons.

dang i wanted to ride the sky coaster
I swear that intro is exactly how my childhood was every year Kennywood opened. Get excited to go and the RAIN. Got wait an extra week of school.
That's Pittsburgh weather for ya!
This makes excited to hopefully visit Kennywood for the first time since 2019!!
Don't go they are cashless and want to track and trace your daily life when you make payments.

Being this is my home park. I’m so excited when I go in June - July to tide these rides again with my family. Awesome video too btw
Hi Rex love your channel been watching for a few years now keep up the work
Lil Phantom also got a purple repaint

I'm just happy they are finally putting some money back into the park.
I'm going to Kennywood in two days so thanks for the update.
Glad their repainting the classics! They needed it!

I would absolutely love to see a new ride there. A family ride like a scrambler would be amazing or a zamperla air race which would be amazing as well
Looks modern while still keeping things old school. Kennywood has a knack for that. Looking forward to seeing the Thunderbolt paint job in real time. Going in June. Greetings from Canonsburg.
I live nearby and used to go to Kennywood every summer. It has probably been a decade since I have been there, I need to go back!!
Excellent video! Thanks!

Do all American theme parks have metal detectors at the entrance?
i saw you there that day, on the first train of phantom LMAO
You know I'd never miss the first train of the year!
Was too cold for Steel Curtain last weekend. Will open tomorrow
I'm going back tomorrow. Fingers crossed it's open.
@@RampagingRex see yo there. Joe told me it should open.

I’ll miss the paratrooper. I also miss Le Cachot, Enterprise, Swing Around, Rotor, Enterprise, Rotor and the original Gold rusher. The 90s was an awesome time for Kennywood.

ARE YOU GOING TO PUT THE PARATROOPER RIDE ON TOP OF CANDY KALIDASCOP
Polar coaster on top of candy kaleidoscope when
Any updates on the Kangaroo?
Phantom needs Green , to go back to to retro feel
I want there reasently its sooooo fun I went on the steel and curtain bro my mom screamed like shit lol😅 I also seen the jack rabbit but its line was to long so my mom and I went to phantoms revenge also I got free cotton candy from the candy lady she was nice and the Pittsburgh plung was soaking but fun and also I recommend kenneywood😊🎉
I really wanted to ride skycoaster, I think it’s cheaper for 3 than 1 person $18 per person, all 3 pays 18 each,
Skycoaster is most likely being removed. The park hasn't confirmed it yet, but they haven't run it in a couple years, all signage mentioning it has been removed, and the park has also removed the cables and lift motors attached to the tower as well.
I go to kennywood a lot
I hate that they made the Phantom purple.
I have a freind that works there and he says it looks beautiful
I hope this place gors under since going cashless.
Please BRING BACK THE PARATROOPER RIDE
Sometimes nostalgia overtakes logic and reason.
"Nostalgia Park" new Kennywood park name. This park could have AT LEAST one new modern flat ride and roller coaster. A few people complained and they kept inferior rides for purely nostalgia reasons.
Why bother showing the rain? It rains everywhere...
It's kind of a Pittsburgh running joke. It always seemed to rain on Kennywood day when I was growing up!
@@RampagingRex yeah exactly! 😂
we need a downdraft!
Kangaroo is sad now.
