I had the privilege to perform this in a quartet with a friend who recently passed. I think of this arrangement and am reminded of him. I wish I got the chance to tell him how much it meant to me. RIP Vinnie.
this is a fab version ofa lovely english folk song , my twin sister and i sang this with our all girls school choir wombwell secondry modern south yorks ..i have to say i like this song sang in unison xxxxx some times different versions are too fancy ,,,,
Nailed it. Beautifully sung. Sang this arrangement (or a similar version) with my high school choir back in 2001. This brings back such fond memories. Thank you for the video, and great job one and all!
these r my favorite songs from Simon & Garfunkel this concert choir class sound extremely good I remember some of my classmates in choir that were in a small singing group named blue & silver singing these songs @ our high school Spring choir concert I love choir
This arrangement is beautiful. These songs are both a good challenge for a choral group, as the harmonies are tight and precise. There's a lot of videos on TH-cam of choirs performing these songs, and this is the first I've come across that do them justice.
I’m blown away by the performance of these kids. Their timing and harmonies are precise. These are some of the most powerful voices I’ve ever heard from “amateurs”.
TheLoelig these teenage kids did a excellent job singing this song the sound of silence and Scarborough fair are my favorite songs from Simon and Garfunkel what's your favorite songs from Simon and Garfunkel
Does anyone have information on the publisher or where to get the music for this? My high school did this almost 18 years ago and it's always stuck with me. I'd love to have a copy. Wonderful job!
at first when I was listening to the second song I thought they were saying " Because a midget softly creeping" I was like.." what the.." Then I searched up the lyrics its " because a vision softly creeping" 😀😂Thank lord we have google😂😂
Even tough they could sing the chords, a pianist can add to the choral and make it more "special". My mom is a pianist and recently played along to a choral singing the sound of silence and i fell in love with the song. however, that may alter my opinion so take it for what it is ;)
not unless the piece was written for a capella performance ...which creates a different type of experience. how does it defeat the purpose? you wouldn't have the tuba play the part of the flutes in the orchestra would you?
@@moimeme6533 I just think it would be more interesting to go all out full acapella and have all instrumental parts sang. Have the baritones do bass and tuba and such. Have one or two people cover each instrument and then the rest of the choir sing the vocals. You might need a bigger choir, but it could sound really cool. I wonder what it would sound like to have a piece written for an orchestra performed only by singers?
@@michaelhalpert5518 well actually there are a capella groups that focus on that style (i.e. full vocal accompaniment) but sometimes the composer may want to capture a fuller sound to contrast with the range or tone quality of the human voice ...adding the orchestra or other accompaniment expands his or her palette of potential sounds ...Handel's *_Messiah_* for instance.
I sung this in 2006 with all county. Im so happy I found it. It makes me cry
One af a best choir version & arrangement i ever heard

I sing this song around 1992 with my 8th grade middle school choir as a bass. I was singing along my part as if it was yesterday.
We sang this in my high school chorus, in 2007. It was by far one my favorite arrangements. Thank you for sharing! You guys killed it!!
Good work! 👍

Que coisa linda, me emocionei aqui. Lindo, fabuloso, belo arranjo.
This is actually the best choir singing this song that I've heard so far - 'Scarborough Fair' that is.

Merci beaucoup😊Thank you 😙I love it😍J'aime from /de Tahiti French Polynesia Pacific Island 👍
Mein Lieblingslied : Scarborough Fair. 🌹

I think they need to bring down the tempo a little bit.
BEAUTIFUL... GOOD RECORDING IN COMPARISON TO OTHER "CONCERT HALL" RECORDINGS... PITY ABOUT THE EARLY PERCUSSION ENTRANCE BUT THERES ALWAYS ONE MISTAE.
good but why do all choirs have pianos and other instruments. Defeats the purpose. The choir should sing the piano chords
Even tough they could sing the chords, a pianist can add to the choral and make it more "special". My mom is a pianist and recently played along to a choral singing the sound of silence and i fell in love with the song. however, that may alter my opinion so take it for what it is ;)

Too fast in my opinion, doesn't quite suit the theme.
