Highly reliable, responsible, truly hardworking with natural empathy for patients, and they always go the extra mile in carrying out their duties and services. These are the outstanding traits of our Filipino nurses. That's why they are always most sought after across the globe. Mabuhay Filipino Nurses!

Filipino nurses, finish your contracts..the problem with some nurses, they come here to the US and already act so entitled..we worked in the Philippines nearly as minimum wage earners, pag dating sa US,ang bilis masilaw sa sweldo ng iba..we all went through lower wages at the start..youd come to that point after your contracts but dont destroy the good impression the previous nurses built.

Ang daming ganyan dito! Example, they will confine their loved ones sa government hospital dito tapos mag hahanap ng hospital equipment na gamit nila doon sa abroad! At mag tatanong kung may high tech lab tests sila! Tapos mamaliitin o lalaitin ang government hospital!
They come here in our government hospital flaunting where they came from, flaunting their clothes, jewellery, vehicles, and their latest Apple cellphone! Ano ba yan? Napaka backwards ninyo?" That's how they treat our government doctors and nurses here! Ang oxygen, napalitan halos after 15-20 minutes. Kinalaunan, AYON NAMATAY NANAY KO. I am Seattle based stem cell nurse. Pacific Northwest is one of the most beautiful part of USA. We are proud that Seattle/ Tacoma area has a lot of Filipino American nurses. Nurses here earn at least 60 dollars per hour. Seattle has one of the highest salary in the nation. That academy that the lady from
Georgia is talking about is based in Seattle. USA need at least 1 million nurses to close the gap.
It’s not a brain drain for the Philippines. Most of these nurses are giving back to the community or places they come from. They became new middle class and a social class equalizer. Imagine that.

Seattle just like any major Cities in Cali has an extremely high cost of living. Salaries are based on the cost of living in the area. Like in the West or East coast, salaries maybe 20-30% higher than in the midwest because of the cost of living.

Pinoy Nurse in Chicago here. I have a few questions:
    1. Will this eliminate the CGFNS Exam (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing School), the standard for all foreign "entrant" nurses who seek employment jobs in the U.S. healthcare system, which has been established since 1977?
FYI: CGFNS also includes license verification, testing, and credentials evaluation of graduates of nursing schools to determine eligibility for nursing practice in the United States.
    2. Is Certification from this GRIT Academy sanctioned/ accredited by all 50 States, or only by its parent company in Seattle, Washington?
    3. If foreign nurses wish to practice in Seattle, will a GRIT certification allow more (or less) chances to "re-take" their NCLEX State Board exam/s?
FYI: To practice nursing in Washington State, you must first pass the NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN and be licensed by the NCSBN. Then you must also fulfill the licensing requirements mandated by the state's nursing commission.
    4. How is GRIT different from other Nursing Review Schools around the Philippines, which many are merely exploiting, Filipino Nurses since the early 70s?
    .

These Muslim countries usually do not require nor allow foreign workers to become permanent residents or grant citizenship unless there are highly unusual circumstances.

If I'm a Filipino nurse, I would apply in Australia, where there is universal health care. They don't have that in the US, and medical insurance there is so expensive.

People don’t understand that to become an RN in the US one needs to pass CGFNS and then to pass NCLeX exams. Not every foreign RN is able to do that. Many RNs around the world want to come to US . The barrier is CGFNS test.

Why? There are so many nurses in the Philippines but why do you think we have shortage? We have surplus of nurses in the Philippines. Most of them are either unemployed or underemployed. It boils down to wages that is not par with the skills of the nurses. Why stay in the philippines when you can get better emplyment outside the country?

We need Filipina Nurses in the Philippines not Overseas or Abroad. They need to be train more than 4 months its not enough. They should complete 4 more years, their standard is not enough, they need English courses, most speak English with accents and needs improvements, social skills using facilities like U.S. standard, Why would they need to immigrate if the Philippines has many Seniors and old, sick, poor population that needs care, Philippines need Doctors, Nurses, Care Givers, I feel Sorry for Filipinas leaving their Country the Philippines that needs their services. Reason why they are leaving, its because the pay rate is so low in the Philippines 🇵🇭..
