Hah! I know what you mean, I normally listen to authentic, christ-abusing, nun raping, church burning, satanic black metal. Then I'll jump to an artist like Tessa Violet whos the antithesis of what I normally listen to. Some of her music has some super fly bass riffs.
I'm definitely a metal head with a lust for goth. The darker toned subcultures are definitely my favorite and definitely inspire my animations and writing and have certainly helped me through a lot. I feel the work pain. I am working on my goth look since I became independent but my job has stopped me. I lost my size 6 gauges due to my job saying they didn’t allow when they did. Dam now I have to get repierced!
As much as i am in favour of this i have to add: You should probably go to the netherlands or belgium. Because there you can pick the cheapest hotels and still expect everyone to speak english. Also travelling to germany via train is very easy from there. The only thing checked on the train crossing the boarder is your ticket.

German is a very difficult Language, and everyone here has to learn at least a secound Language in school, so we don't judge broken german, in fact its allways so nice to hear people who are actually trying to learn it and most are really suportive (some even a bit too much)

And somtimes I wear a hat that I added a pair of wacky colorful goggles to, and it gets a lot a praise, and I wear it offen, but my other favrouite is a black dragon hat. It is kind of hard to desribe but has a face of a dragon in the center, and lots of pepole find it cool, but others find it creppy that there is a dragon staring at you.
