    Nice seeing a decent blade steel in a multi tool.

    I have both the Charge TTi+ and Spirit X; I love them both equally but for different reasons. I primarily carry the Charge for work purposes and the Spirit as my main EDC multitool. I also got the extra bit kit for my Charge, so it really does feel like a mini toolbox on my hip. Anyway, I'm rambling again so I digress. Thanks for the review and Cheers!

      I want to get one of the newer Victorinox with the one handed opening just to compare. Take care.

    I really enjoy your channel! It was once said by a Professor to me , that: "All engineering is about time, space (weight), and money." I never forgot that class, all for that one statement! Multi tools are no different. THAT being said, I'd like to see you review some of the various Chinese knock-offs, the Harbor Freights and the Princess Autos... While it's easy to poo poo the cheaper quality when it comes to any tool, I've never cursed a cheap tool that has gotten me out of a pinch, especially on the road. While you can carry a multi tool "anywhere", having a multi tool "everywhere" that you DON'T have to carry is also a win, and cheaper tools "for the rest of us" means there's one in the wife's car, and at a remote site as well. You cuss less when you break something cheap. And redundancy is never a bad thing when a tool does beak, as they all will fail eventually. Or get "borrowed." Or "lost." So there's lots of reasons to buy expensive tools, and ALSO cheap ones. All the Best! 73 DE W8LV Bill (and W8LV/VE3 prepandemic)

      I think you have a good point there. I think I will have a look at some of the less expensive multi tools out there and go ahead with some reviews and thoughts thanks for the prompt. Also how’s the Ham Radio going?

    I believe the detachable lanyard clip is in case you want to attach a wrist lanyard or fob to the tool that you can remove if it is in your way with some of the tools. It looks like if you removed the hidden lanyard you could attach the lanyard clip and the pocket clip at the same time.🇨🇦

      @@patrickbledsoe2176 -These tools meet the needs of a wide variety of people, some of whom do not have the pocket clip/lanyard kit or are not aware that there is a hidden lanyard. I have always viewed this clip attachment as an accessory similar to the bit holder or the saw/file exchanger. You can make your own accessory to add to your multi tool such as an awl for the Wave.

    Idk where you heard not to oil your pivot, but that’s a myth. If you watch leathermans video about their “leatherman Maintenance kit” they include a bottle of oil, and demonstrate them oiling the pivot.

    The charge is the way to go with the extras and upgraded sheeth, and knife steel. Also i have the s30v charge and a s30v bugout and leathermans s30 stays sharper longer for me i can go 3 days without stroping the charge blade compared to 2 on thr bugout

      Sorry for taking so long dealing with some family issues. The best thing I found is to John the email list at Leatherman.ca or look on Kijiji and set up a notification where when comes up for sale it notifies you. A lot of the gear I pick up is preowned as it can be quite expensive to get new stuff when you review as much as I do. One more thing it to look on Reddit for Canadian Knife swap and the other is Facebook Canadian Knife and Gear group there’s lots for sale on there. I hope this helps.

    14:54 What ??? Mine came with that bit kit fully loaded. Also, my pliers don't have the crimper you are showing on this model.
    I have bought the Charge + TTI... is it the difference between the "+" and the non-plus version ?

    You don't oil them because oil picks up dirt

    • @DJR3M1XX
      @DJR3M1XX ปีที่แล้ว

      False, and true. Watch leathermans video of their, “leatherman maintenance kit”. Oil does attract dirt, but the particles are too big to get into the pivot area. If you don’t oil, it will wear faster, leading to dirt being able to get into the pivot. Which would get worse if you decided then to start oiling.

      Being that you’re actively on here I’m curious about your thoughts on leathermans warranty process. It might make for a good video for your channel. I was thinking about taking the scales off my charge+ tti to electro anodize them, but being that it will void my warranty I’m second guessing if it’s worth it. I’ve had mine for about a year, love the heck out of it, but with the price tag of them I’m not sure if I’m willing to throw that out. I wish they offered more in the way of customization on their most expensive multi tool if they are going to immediately void the warranty for doing so yourself. Especially since their tools… Are used by construction workers, doers, diyers… people that take things apart, and put them back together.. lol kinda wild if you ask me

    • @TheBigCanucker
      @TheBigCanucker ปีที่แล้ว

      @DJR3M1XX I’m not sure what they would do for a cosmetic change only if they would void the warranty. Their website may say they will, but folks on the phone at the company might feel different plus if you can return it to stock before you send it in then who’s the wiser lol.

      @@TheBigCanucker Who knows with them haha I’m still planning on doing it at some point. I just have to figure out how to get my hands on an acid strong enough to etch the titanium. If they void the warranty because of it oh well 🤷🏼‍♂️ I have had it long enough to have noticed any factory defects so it would likely be something of my doing anyway.
      I have been lubing mine ever since it was broken in to my liking. Most knife/ gun oils are also going to provide corrosion resistance. Since Leatherman uses high strength steels the corrosion resistance isn’t as good. It’s a give take with that. Generally the higher the strength of the steel, the less corrosion resistance it has. So I say oil away, the only downside to using too much is if it’s all over the tool, and you work in a dirty environment it can mean more frequent cleaning
