  • In this video, I compare EH Taylor Small Batch and EH Taylor Single Barrel from the Buffalo Trace Distillery.
Please let me know what you think in the comments. I read and respond to EVERYONE who comments in a meaningful way. I love to interact with bourbon lovers across the USA and beyond.
The pricing I have on the thumbnail is around what secondary pricing is. What would you pay for either of these bottles?

My god man!! 120 proof as the sweet spot. We gotta call you Rocks tongue or something like that. For me it’s Small Batch because it’s the only one I’ve been able to find at retail in recent years. Thanks for the helpful review. Nice
    Touch with the celebration effect.

It is unfortunate that you can't really find this stuff at retail anymore. And for the proof. I like a bit of "slap in the face" in my Bourbon

Nice review, the single barrel is my favorite. Out of them all personally. Keep up the good work.

IMHO, EHT Single Barrel is the one of the best Buffalo Trace bourbons available if you can find it for a reasonable price. According to my research, the single barrels are filtered out by BT specially for that release. They are supposed to be special and also older around 9+ years old. The small batch is about 6. I currently have a store pick and it’s delicious. It’s an amplified version of the small batch in flavor. That extra age hits the sweet spot for me. That said, the small batch is excellent and easier to find at a decent price. Cheers!

@C_H_1972 both are great. And at MSRP, roll the dice on single barrel, especially if it's a store pick!

It may have been a more accurate or fair comparison, had the single barrel not been a fresh crack/neck pour. In time you may want to try again to see how the 1st one opens up. Worse case though is that you get to enjoy 2 excellent bottles of bourbon!!!! A win, win situation!!!!

Thats awesome! I'll have to revisit the Single Barrel. Don't get me wrong, both of the small batch and Single Barrel were great. Like I said maybe I had a Barrel that wasn't above the average. It is bound to happen statistically. I think for the secondary pricing I wouldn't pay much more than Small batch. Luckily I got all my EH Taylor at MSRP.

Of course, you can't really tell a lot about the Single Barrel being that it was a neck pour.

Possibly! Looking forward to revising it
