The Strasbourg tram system is brilliant! And seeing L'Homme de Fer brought back so many memories of my visit there. Every city should have something like this.
yes it is, travellers need to valide their ticket through a machine placed at the tram station, and there is no machines on the tram. Thus every one can get into the tram easily. But sometimes there are controllers who enter the trams without precaution and the fee for fare evasion is quite high.

The bogies obviously differ from those used on Variotrams (actually not bogies at all). Where could I find pictures or specifications?

I have travelled in many Trams but I Strasbourg's Trams are the best.
