"oc" means original character, so its not a real person / character, its original and made up. and its his or hers. and its colors so it could be him or her in colors, or it can be what he or her thinks the colors personality's would be.
This video is soooo nostalgic to me, because when i was like 9 or 10 y/o i used to watch this video a lot in my dad's phone whenever i could. I had some type of obsetion with watching speedpaints as a kid, so finding this video got me crying. The ocs' desing its so cool, later the final drawing looks so great even 5 years later!
I was obsessed with watching them too. This video is actually the thing that got me started drawing my characters! I actually used this base to draw the first iterations of them. I still have these ocs to this day and finalized their designs from the tiny Chibis 😂

I think you did a fantastic job on this! I would be really interested in seeing this done without the base, especially considering how far your art style has come. Also, I must say, you really show that MSpaint can be used well! There is a lot of stigma against it considering how tempting it is to some to just use the circle, box, and line tools, but it is made clear by your art that it can be used to create really well-made pieces if used correctly. (This is NOT hate, just a suggestion) I have two suggestions for you! One: Try using FireAlpaca, or at least something better than M.S Paint. Two: It seems you can draw hair well, so I'm assuming you could draw your own characters and not use a base? Maybe try to draw the bodies on your own. ;3 Cute O.C's though! Love the creativity.

If you say “using bases gets you nowhere” then you should get common sense. Using bases helps them and not do devilish scribbles. Then when they’re really good, they should remember how the shape of the base is and probably “make their own base” and just go. YOU should realize this and I used to use bases and now I’ve improved without bases in like a year.
I'm still using bases. Granted, I'm using my tablet and I only have one drawing app on it. I drew the background of a room in the SCP foundation pretty well using it, though, so I think I'm improving. I can't draw a person though and I'm shaky TwT
You're a really good artist! I can tell you will go far. You know where to shade, how to make colors not clash, how to do nice line art. Now all you need to do is to practise body's and anatomy, therefore you'll no longer need bases! Good job btw.

She gave credit, and the title says speedbase and not speedpaint so she isn’t claiming it to be a full speed paint but a base edit. Although I wouldn’t suggest only using bases, as long as it is credited and you maybe practise your own figures then I don’t find bases too annoying
