That foam board was a good idea, I wish I had thought of that. If I put up any more insulation I might try it.

Thanks for suggesting to watch this video. Makes more sense now. What is the thickness of the acoustic foam pieces?

Very nice sir!!!...you have given me inspiration for my build....i currently have a 110" Stewart screen in my room but have been planning on getting an acoustically transparent screen....in my previous house i was able to use 3 identical LCR speakers and it definitely made a diferrence...im currently using a traditional horizontal center speaker but want to go back to using identical speakers...currently running LR polk rt55i and center polk cs400i...was thinking on getting those monoprice monolith inwall speakers or the polk 265ls....cant wait for your next video....keep up the great work

Thanks man! So far I'm not in love with the 265-LS speakers, but I can't justify spending 3 times the price to get the Focal 300 iw5 LCR speakers that I wanted to go with... The room sounds good, but I'm definitely going to have to add more subs in the future, and get a mini DSP and calibrated mic so I can use REW to EQ the room, which I didn't need with my RTi10 towers speakers. I do love having a completely clean front wall, with a large scope screen, so I can live with the downgraded audio for now.

Just curious why you didn’t like the Polk ls 256? Wonder what kind avr/amp are you using with these speakers? I was about to buy the Polk ls265 speakers for LCR and glad I ran into this video.

I have a Yamaha RX-A3080 which made my previous Polk RTi10 tower speaker sound absolutely amazing, so the AVR is not the issue. The Polk 265 LS in-walls sounded good at lower volumes, but would distort at higher levels(louder than -22.0) and cause ear discomfort. Also, the swivel tweeter design was just plastic on plastic friction, so they would move from the vibration of just using the speakers. Overall they aren't terrible, but not even close to level of performance I was looking for with this significant HT upgrade/makeover.

Thank you sharing the experiences with the Polk speakers. I was also using a similar Yamaha a2080 receiver, but upgrading to separates monolith 7 amp and Emotiva prepro changed a lot in sound quality in my setup. Just wanted to share my experiences

Congratulations!!! I truly like the idea which I’m on boarding doing it too.
Question: what is your length of your wall and the distance between each speaker, please? Once again, Job well done 👍🏽.👊🏽😉👊🏽

Thanks! The front wall is 131"(10' 11") wide, and the speakers are about 105" apart measuring from the outer edge of each one.

@@Lbmwm3 thanks for the kind words! I'm currently working on a video about adding multiple subwoofers to my room, but I need to listen to them or at least a week before I come to a conclusion and can wrap up the video.

I’m trying to build out one right now in a new construction but confused on what type of equipment . What’s good, better, best and price point?

    • @TerminatorJuice

That's a big question, with a million different answers, depending on who you talk to. But based on your question let me asked you this first... Have you been into A/V or Home Theater on any level before this, or are you seeing videos on TH-cam and think that would be cool to have? I'll tell you that I've seen people get into this hobby without a true passion for watching movies, and they end up barely using their theater rooms that they spent a ton of money on.

@@TerminatorJuice so I’ve been into a home with a designated home with designated home theatre systems. I like to watch movies

@@tundeade961 I would watch many videos on designing home theaters, and figure out what you want to achieve, and then you can try and decide on what equipment you'll need/want. Home Theater Engineering and Home Theater Guru are two channels that I would highly recommend checking out before you make any purchases. There are so many factors that need to be known before you buy anything, so I can't even begin to give you advise man...
