1- Can Version 12 create VR scenarios using panoramic 360 webpage for online field trips? Or is it better to go to 2019 Version? 2- Is it possible to have 2versions of Captivate on the same PC;e. 9 & 19? How?
I am not actively using Captivate anymore so take this with a grain of salt but I believe when you purchase version 12, you get 2019 along with it. When I reviewed the new version, you had to use 2019 for any VR stuff and I think that is still the case. Here is that video if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/aLsl04Gih9g/w-d-xo.html I've always been able to have more than one version installed so, unless something has changed, yes, you should be able to have both. I'm not sure I understand the "how?" part of the question. I just install each version. If you run into trouble, then I'd reach out to Adobe.
Hi. I prepare training in ppt with animations and audio, then save it as video/ mp4 and upload it to my LMS. What are the advantages of using Adobe Captivate?
Hi Kasia, If that is your main way of creating training then I would not recommend Captivate. I would use iSpring Suite. Here are some videos to check out that will show you some more info about both: Pros and Cons of Adobe Captivate: th-cam.com/video/iwGxbSgf4wY/w-d-xo.html iSpring Suite Overview: th-cam.com/video/0EFeI1HNTYI/w-d-xo.html Elearning Authoring Tool Comparison: th-cam.com/video/goDiZhd-sTU/w-d-xo.html Adobe Captivate Quick Start: th-cam.com/video/VPq1l7hvs5M/w-d-xo.html To answer your question, though, the advantage to using an e-learning authoring tool like Captivate is that you have a lot more options for adding interactivity and quizzes. You are also able to publish into SCORM, AICC, xAPI, etc... which gives your LMS more info that you can track and report on. Hope that helps!
@@yourlearningcareer Thanks for the answer. I am trying to get away from PowerPoint, as the final article looks dated. Following yr training on Captivate, and I am probably going to go for it. Love the ability to interact within the training which is missing for our units, just need to learn more how to make it work. Thanks for yr help.
My pleasure! Yes, it is so much more effective for your learners when you add meaningful interactions to your training. If you want some more info/resources on Adobe Captivate, check out the Community at elearning.adobe.com/ Here on TH-cam, Paul Wilson has a ton of helpful tutorials: th-cam.com/users/Paulwilsonlearning Also, keep an eye out for the new version which will hopefully be coming out soon. Best of luck!
Hi Geoff/Jeff - just in case you get this message from an old thread of yours - I watched this video a couple of times, I need to do exactly what you were doing in the video so went ahead and downloaded a Trial version of Captivate - unfortunately the new 2023 version. I can't work out any interface with PowerPoint and as yet there are no manuals available that cover this online or in print. Possibly a waste of time but is this simple task of converting a PP document out through Captivate to a SCORM compliant file or has this feature now been dropped? Any help appreciated - Drew
Hi Drew - you should be able to download a trial of the 2019 version or what they are calling "Captivate Classic". That's what you need to use in order to bring in PowerPoint. It's not supported in the new version. I talk about this some in this video: th-cam.com/video/aLsl04Gih9g/w-d-xo.html My understanding is that we will be able to import PPT at some point but not sure when that will be.
Yes - Captivate is very weird with how it handles PowerPoint and I should have shown how to edit text in this video. I DID show it in another video, though. Check this one out at about the 8:40 mark. th-cam.com/video/goDiZhd-sTU/w-d-xo.html

Thanks very much for the swift response
thank you for saving my semester sir
You are most welcome😊
It’s not allowing me to edit the text once I have imported the slide. Is that normal?
