This song physically hurt because I wasn't pure enough to listen to it. I'm just a wisp of a flame now

This feels like an old school disney abimated film thats not well known. I can practically see the singer as a shadowy figure fighting through the snow up the side of a mountain and then appearing in a clearing where the sky clears and the spring rains begin to patter down. Truly angelic and otherworldly sounds

really an incomparable piece of music. it makes me feel like i'm living a whole life in six and a half minutes. the 'Raise the dead' at 5:09 is just devastating, gorgeous, and full of a terrifying, cerebral hope

St. Martin de Porres, his shepherd's staff a dusty broom
St. Martin de Porres, the poor made a shrine of his tomb
St. Martin de Porres, he gentled creatures tame and wild
St. Martin de Porres, he sheltered each unsheltered child
This man of love, born of the flesh, yet of God
This humble man healed the sick, raised the dead, his hand is quick
To feed beggars and sinners, the starving homeless and the stray
Oh Black Christ of the Andes, come feed and cure us now we pray
    Spare, oh lord
    Spare my people
Lest you be angered with me, forever
(Lest you be angered with me, forever)
    This man, this man
Of love, born of the flesh, yet of God
This humble man healed the sick, raised the dead, his hand is quick
St. Martin de Porres, he gentled creatures tame and wild
St. Martin de Porres, he sheltered each unsheltered child

Très beau. Une grande artiste à redécouvrir, par ailleurs très grande pianiste de jazz.

from wikipedia - Martin de Porres Velázquez, O.P. (9 December 1579 - 3 November 1639), was a Peruvian lay brother of the Dominican Order who was beatified in 1837 by Pope Gregory XVI and canonized in 1962 by Pope John XXIII. He is the patron saint of mixed-race people, barbers, innkeepers, public health workers, and all those seeking racial harmony.

Non catholic singers singing about a catholic historical character. The problem? They named Christ a christian man from 16th century... That's anti-catholic doctrine

Not really. Every catholic is called by the Church to be Christ-like, his devotees just gave him that title, it's not like they think he's Jesus lol. And I don't see the problem with the first part, along with not knowing if the singers are actually non-Catholic.
