Looks great! I just traded my WR250R for the 2022 701 about 6 weeks ago. Loved my WR, but I also do a lot of on road riding and it just wasn't cutting it anymore. I've only been on a couple night rides with the Husky, and I can totally see why you upgraded. I actually found the low beams to be ok, but high beams... not so much. I think I'll see if I can find this light somewhere. Thanks again!
Also looking at getting this bike. I currently ride a big GS which I'll probably keep, but looking at something for the more technical offroad riding while still being able to do overnight camping trips. Great series.... will be following.
The GS is a great bike… Always makes me smile on the highway… But not so much in the dirt and or in my driveway when I have to turn it around. I think the Husky will be a treat to do some Moto camping and maybe the BDR up in the Northeast.

Brent, first off...I love the video! world class my friend, well done! Secondly, here's my two cents on your question. There are a couple things you should consider. First, as you probably already be aware most dealers will not balance the wheels on a dual sport bike unless you ask them. Second the clutch slave has been known to fail, in some cases with very few miles on the bike. And while it will likely qualify as a warranty repair, getting stranded is no fun, especially as far afield as you seem to like to go! So if you want to just jump on the bike and start riding as soon as you get it home...these are my two must haves. The rest of the updates are all kind of fun to do :)

Looking hard at purchasing this bike. Whereas you're going from a GS to a lighter adventure set up, I'm coming from a WR250R, which has been wonderful on the trails but too underpowered on the roads I must travel to get to the trails. Thank you for videos as I intend to do many of the same modifications if I pull the trigger on this.
I spent most of my years racing two-stroke KTM’s so while I love the GS on the highway it’s still intimidating in technical sections… So I’m really looking forward to putting this bike through its paces in a variety of off-road settings.

Thanks, I would say the angle of the new light is lower… So I have adjusted it almost as high as it can go. Depending on your particular setup you may have to fine-tune it from there, which is easy because the screw remains accessible from the throttle side of the headlight housing and it’s easily adjusted with a Phillips screwdriver.

This light is super bright! To me the low beam seems noticeably brighter than the high beam on the stock unit. And the high beam is amazing especially if you are riding down a dirt road at night. Also love that it makes the bike much more visible from a lot farther away. Very please with it so far.
Thanks, Definitely not an inexpensive upgrade but visibility is a big part of safety and considering the amount of road miles I’m going to be putting on the bike, brighter is better. So I will be adding even more lighting to the front and back of the bike before I’m done.

Hi, these are by Doubletake. This is their "Adventure" model. These provide a better field of view than Doubletake's smaller round "enduro mirror". I'm very pleased with them so far. They are remarkably stable at speed and seem to be as tough as nails.
Unfortunately for now I don’t have anything I can share but I will be posting a tire test video and a travel video this spring which will show how bright this thing is even in daylight. Suffice to say the low beam is as bright as the original high beam and the high beam is amazing at night on a dark road.
I hear you, not cheap for sure but when it comes to being seen by drivers cocooned in their comfy automobiles or seeing better heading down a dark road this is a solid option. Actually for the same reasons I will be adding Denali S4’s up front …I will be very easy to spot out on the open road this season :)

Yep… Upstate New York… Not bad for riding but not the best place in the world thanks to our short riding season!

Yes …low beam brightness is 2200 lumens …the same as the high beam on the OEM headlight.
So, comparison with stock unit ?? For sure this is better but how is it ?

Was there a reason for choosing this light over the Baja design ones?
It was kind of a combination of… straightforward install… a high level of brightness… and probably mostly because I like the way it looks :)
This headlight offers more than baja design.

thats a $500 light! sure i want one, but thats nearly a tenth of the price that i paid for the entire bike!
