They are the first k-pop group to release an album in all english. They are also a very respected group in the industry because all the members have such strong talents and they are the role models of other idols (Ateez, Skz...). Monsta X very close friends with Seventeen, BTOB and Got7. They are sooo close.
Shownu (Real name Hyunwoo) used to be a JYP trainee and was going to debut with the GOT7 members. Got7 members said "he was the best trainee among us" about Shownu. Shownu is leader and main dancer in the group. He has so beautiful voice. Father of the group and he is in military now. 14:45
Minyuk vocal and visual of the group. He's a vitamin and sunshine of the group. He has hosted many programs. He made it all the way to the 3rd round of the king of masked singer show, which was the biggest ranking of any idols from the agency. He has a deep, harmonic and very beautiful voice. Kihyun is main vocal in the group and one of the best voice in the industry. He has amazing high notes and his ability to sing live is amazing. He can rap too. Yoongi helped him when he was a trainee and they are friends. He has many covers and he covers Imagine Dragons songs. Hyungwon is main visual, Dj, Producer, vocal and dancer in the group. He can rap as well. He has a calm and low-pitched voice. He is one of the members who balance the sexy and masculine air in Monsta X songs. His voice is very soft and yet captivating. He modeled with Minhyuk at the fashion show. Hyungwon used to be a model before. He acted in the series. Tallest and sleepiest member of the group. 19:25
Joohoney( real name Jooheon) Main Producer, Main rapper, vocalist of the group. In the competition where Monsta X debuted, he had the best ranking. He is known as one of the best rappers in the industry. He has his own style and voice. He is the producer of most of Monsta X's songs and is in the top 7 among the most copyrighted idols in Korea (145+ songs). He achieved this despite debuting in 2015. Everyone above him on the list is people who debuted much earlier than him. Although he is the main rapper, he has a singing talent that could be the main vocal in another group. he shows his vocal abilities very easily in the songs he doesn't rap and can reach very high notes. He can reach these notes while singing live. He is so well known because he is an iconic rapper. He has many friends Exo - Chanyeol, Got7- Jackson are some of the known ones. IM (real name Changkyun) rapper, producer, vocal and maknae of the group. Even though he looks serious, he's a troublemaker. Although he is the maknae, it is a little hard to believe that he is the maknae. He writes sexy lyrics and he is so cool. He knows he is hot lol. English guy of the group he can even do an english accent. He has a deep voice, but he can also make his voice soft and sweet. he has a mixtape. Minhyuk and I.M are the group's mischievous and gay panic-inducing duo. 16:03
Wonho (real name Hoseok) is a member left the group. Thinking that the group would be harmed because he was slandered, he wrote a letter to Monbebe and left the group. He won the case and was cleared of the charges. That's why he continues his solo career and we continue to support him. Previously, he was a producer and vocalist in the group. someone who is very in love with his fans and his job. Despite the injustices he suffered, he did not speak to anyone after he won the case. The most muscular man of the group, the most muscular man in the entire industry. Other idols were constantly showing him off at award ceremonies, and the Jimin and Jin duo also praised his muscles at the awards ceremony. 09:30

There were never any charges against wonho. The police investigated the allegations but found no evidence so he was cleared. There was no case. It was just a bunch of false rumours and I don't think they should be given any more credit than that

their songs are A LOT harder before. you will notice how their songs become more refined as they aged (lol i make it sound like they're old). they still got the monsta x sound but it's like they evolved (specially with more creative freedom)
I'm so happy you are discovering them! For the next vid I'd say to choose 4 from Rush Hour, Fantasia, Alligator, Dramarama and they also have all English releases so from them you could choose You Problem (entirely different from everything you just heard!) and Who Do You Love. If you don't mind checking out a B side with no mv and can just find a lyric vid....check out 'Beastmode' for sure because that's utterly iconic. Btw they are self producing idols, Joohoney wrote and produced Gambler and Love from the selection you just watched! Shownu, who is the leader, is in the military right now, so that's why they were down to 5 for the Love MV. Can't wait for your next reaction to them!

Monsta X are crazy talented and their confidence is bc they create their own songs and they know their strengths and how they don’t have a competition that’s why they are strong and the most consistent kpop group rn
I was so excited to wake up to you reacting to Monsta X!! I just saw them in concert June 6 and they were amazing!! They have so much energy, the whole concert was a giant party. In Hero, you told one of the guys to put his shirt down...that's Wonho who unfortunately left the group, he often doesn't put his shirt down 😅 all of the guys are incredibly talented but one of the things that surprised me the most when discovering them was how Joohoney is not only an incredible rapper, but his vocals are insane too! I'd recommend checking out Beastmode, You Problem and Dramarama - but you won't be disappointed with any you check out. Thanks again!!

A lot of Monsta X are more on the mature side if you know what I mean especially their bsides like Monsta Truck, Misbehave & Autobahn & Secrets. You should check out their English albums, All About Luv & The Dreaming. They make the best English songs in all of kpop.
Love MONSTA X! When I taught this song in music class, my students all immediately hit on the Mario sounds. This was their favorite song from the lesson. Making mini Monbebes 💜

I'll recommend 'Play it Cool' 'Who do you love' ' One day' and 'You Problem '
For korean videos I'll recommend 'Kiss or Death' 'Follow' 'All In' and 'Alligator'
Their discography is incredibly eclectic, although people do have a stereotype on the kind of music they make because their title tracks have always been hard hitting, EDM/Hip Hop/Kpop/Rock (noise) genre fusion, peppered fire rap verses, and sweet and powerful vocals, ad libs, and harmonies! They have the best rap duo in Kpop too! There is no genre they can't master if they take it on, and that's the incredible thing about them, they always maintain their own MONSTA X flavour throughout, but the have never limited themselves artistically or linguistically and have songs in Korean, Japanese, English, and even Mandarin. So although they are one of the pioneers of sexy, 'beast idol', 'noise music' in the current Kpop scene, that is not their entire legacy and a deeper dive of their discography will surprise you
Not only are they insanely talented in everything they do, a lot of music journalists describe Monsta X as the 'Chameleons of Kpop', and it's so true, they are unique. The X in their name is the mathematical X, which is an unknown variable, they have always used this to symbolise that they won't be limited sonically or linguistically, which allows them to never get bogged down in any one sound or style. They also have a time travel concept running throughout a large quantity of their music, so you'll actually find that their music often has a fusion of old school/retro vibes, mixed with more current and 'futuristic' edge (experimental/EDM etc) Nothing holds them back when it comes to their music and artistry, and they are often known for pioneering a trend well before it eventually becomes popular, and they have influenced many 4th Gen idols for these reasons.

MX changes their sound with every album which makes them so unique and interesting, and I’m so glad you recognize and appreciate that about them!! Dramarama was their first big win so I highly recommend. For a great listening experience, Flow and Nobody Else really hook me in very different ways.
Since you will soon fallin their rabbit hole i might as well say it. The reason why they change their style and kind of way of doing music in general all the time is that the x in their name stands for infinity or not to Label their direction of music. And the Word monsta itself means they want to be perceived as the monsters of K- Pop

Your reaction is the same as mine when I first heard them just a month ago! They really have this vibe can make you groove and surprised you at the same. The transition they're making is so smooth and clean. The vocals and rap lines really blend so well. This guys are amazing. I just wish I could go back time and stan them as early as they debuted.

- Beautiful Falsetto: anything composed by Wonho "No Reason" & "If Only"
- Rappers being Vocalists: any English release, particularly "Middle of the Night", "You Problem", "One Day", "Who Do You Love"
Also, their Time Travel timeline MVs are really interesting... it was first introduced back in 2017 with their "Dramarama" MV. It was most recently updated with the beautiful and heartbreaking "Find You" MV in 2020, which was released 3 days before Wonho had to quit promotions due to allegations by a former trainee.
They also have a few videos that feature the 7 Deadly Sins in them, such as "Shoot Out" and "Alligator".
My first song of monsta x was Alligator and these guys instantly made me fall in love with their music they are so damn underrated

All of 4th generation boygroup kpop have monsta x as one of their inspirations this has been spoken by industry professionals as well as the idols themselves! monsta x have their own sound and are nicknamed "beast idols" and are also crowned the "Manly idols" of this generation of kpop. They are their own genre and as you can tell from the 4 mvs you say, thats true! if you wanna keep going i recommend Alligator, Rush Hour, Follow and Spotlight (jpn release but shows another side to them). You can also check out their english albums, All About Luv and The Dreaming, two excellent pop albums, they really can do it all!

Yeesssssss!! Monsta X are honestly so underrated but I think they've gained some more hype since Rush Hour. Their rappers are crazy talented and their vocalists slay (vocal king Kihyun). They've honestly got sooo many iconic songs and MV's. One I think you would really enjoy is Sambakja which is a live perfomance but some of their most iconic songs are Rush Hour, Follow, Alligator, Fantasia Jealousy and Dramarama I think. Their rappers also got great solo songs. I.M God Damn and Jooheon Smoky for example! Hope you will react to them more in the future. :)

Yeah monsta x is one of the best groups out there tbh there so fucking good. Every song is a bop. Plus what's crazy is that the rappers are really vocalist and the vocalist are really good rappers I'm not comparing but in my opinion this group deserves as much success as bts has tbh.

Yessss, I'm so happy that lately there's a lot of people that heard of them before but are starting to deep dive into them now, better late than never, the boys deserve it and you're gonna be blessed hahahah speaking about versatility, they have 2 english albums that are a TOTALLY different vibe, and you'll see them incorporating the concepts throughout their albums as well, not only on the title track. For more different types of songs, I'd suggest: All In (2016), Dramarama (2017), Fantasia (2020), You Problem (2021 - from english ambum). But also, it would be great to check out all of the MVs in order. And if you're liking their title tracks, I just want to let you know that their b-sides are even better ! I'm subscribing to follow along with your journey 🥰
