Also, you said, "Can you see where this part goes"? And the answer was no, I could not see, lol. I just saw a space, but not where it attaches. You shouldn't be putting grease or oil on any rubber (i.e. the control arm bushings), thats just going to cause it to deteriorate.

Why not put some silicone or other type of sealant around the part in your air box so it doesn't move as easily
Oiling rubber is not a good idea.
