I absolutely LOVE these dupes videos, and I especially appreciate your willingness to do the math and point out what many may miss. I would add one thing to your math assessment though... I bought the NARS Laguna cream bronzer only to have it start drying up when I was only about halfway through it. I can still use it, but it's a bit more work now and doesn't look quite as good, and I know I may need to discard it before using it all up. I just ordered the Milani cream bronzer and since there's less in the packaging, I'm more confident that I get my full dollar's worth out of it with little to no waste. That factors into the equation too. Sometimes less really IS more. Also... I just can't bring myself to pay for high-end glosses or lip oils. I just can't. There's so little wear time on those products that I just don't feel they're worth the splurge. (And yet I'm addicted to expensive lipsticks. I know...I know.. I'm complicated, LOL!)
I'm 54 with straight up normal skin. I love the cover girl essence. it feels wonderful, and keeps my skin feeling moist and plump for hours. I apply it over sundcreen.
Thanks for your review on that Covergirl foundation. I hated it on my dry skin and was confused why so many people loved it. You have proven me not crazy, lol. ❤
Love dupes! Thank you for including products that are less expensive but work well with those of us who do mainly drugstore type products like Loreal, Elf and Wet n Wild and so on.
Thank you for your dupes. After all the money I have spent on high end makeup, I can no longer justify spending the money. I combine high end with drugstore. I did buy Tarte Cloud Crush blush in color watermelon rain. I think it's a dupe for Patrick Ta? It was worth the money.
Stephanie I think you are spot on about the Chanel vs the Cover Girl. The Cover Girl is not an essence, it is a tint. I too find it can be drying and have found putting it on moisturized skin with your fingers brings the best results. Thanks for the great video with all these great comparisons. I’d like to try the Milani bronzer.
Hey Stephanie! I love that you do the math on these dupe products! Makes my brain hurt! But sometimes, like with liquid lip glosses that seem to dry out in the tube five seconds flat, I prefer to buy a smaller amount. The Wet N Wild lippie in Bronzed Berry has been a favorite of mine for years, and I'll cry when they discontinue that line. So thanks for the reminder - Ill just buy two or three the next time I see them! Thanks for the video!
I guessed the high end side correctly. Looks smoother or maybe softer to me. There’s a beautiful glow too. I didn’t like the Covergirl product on my face, but I do mix it with my sunscreen to put on my neck because self tanner doesn’t last long on my neck and I love it for that purpose.
Love your dupes videos always😍. I was looking on TH-cam for some tutorials on the Tartlette In Bloom palette and I came across yours from a few years ago ( 6 or 7?) And there in the background on your bed was beautiful Luke and I teared up a little - he was looking so cozy and adorable 💗. Missing that little face. Xo 🇨🇦
I guessed the dupe vs high end side correctly!🎉 to me, the high end side looked softer, and had a subtle glow (not glitter) but like glow from within 😊
Very pretty look, I could not tell a difference between the dupe vs luxe version. I'm almost convinced not to try the CoverGirl Essence based other YT reviews and your overview (I will watch your comparison video) and the viewer's comments below. To be fair, I have foundations to use up first. I'm going to buy the Wet 'n Wild gloss for sure, and another shade since I like how the packaging is less bulky for my purse as compared to Lifter Gloss. I like the Catrice bronzer/highlighter dupe, a nice compact option for my portable makeup bag.
The color of your top with your makeup look is just beautiful!! 💜. I actually just picked up the milani bronzer and the new flower beauty matte liquid blushes. There are so many new drugstore products out right now!!
I would love an alternative for fenty heat in cherry. I think it would be a great colour for your complexion, I’m not a fan of a gloopy gloss but would love this in a sheer lipstick product
Would you share what lip pencil you used with the Merit lipstick? And would you remember which lippie you were wearing when you tried the WnW lip gloss? Many thanks!
I have a ton of high-end lipsticks but I noticed the other day that I’m about to finish a Flower Beauty lipstick that you recommended as a dupe to Charlotte Tilbury. I have no idea what shade it is bc that sticker is long gone. I’ll have to find your old video. 😊
Great video! I’d been eyeing the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow gel after seeing great reviews, but just ordered the Physician’s Formula instead per your recommendation. Thanks! Can’t wait to try it!
The Chanel Water Tint is no way in the same category as the Cover Girl. The bead-like formula is the only resemblance in my opinion. Funny I get a lot of coverage with the Water Tint! Thanks for all of your hard work in making your videos!❤
I Love the Chanel water fresh complexion touch . I was really hoping the Covergirl would be a dupe .. darn ! Fortunately one pump of the Chanel is enough for my entire face .❤
I could not tell the difference. I was really surprised with the Milani Bronzer price. I would love to see more surprisingly expensive drugstore makeup. Also I would love a one and done eyeshadow review for 2024. I loved the first one a few years ago. Thanks for all the great reviews!
The mature YT reviews of CG vs. Chanel tints are all over the place. Maybe i will try Rose Inc, it priced in the middle😂. Or why not thin out foundation with moisturizer, saving $
Test it out, I find it better to get a moisturizing sheer tint to thin out foundation so you don’t lose out to possibly early foundation breakdown on the face
Love these videos, excited to try the Wet and Wild gloss. I’ve also been into Elf lately too I have Estée Lauder eye creme and actually like the Elf Hello Hydration better plus love the daytime face creme. Any suggestions for a good nighttime face creme that firms and moisturizes but doesn’t break the bank lol?
I had high hopes for the cover girl it looks beautiful and glowy on my checks but around my chin i have dryness and it does cling to dryness and texture Ill use it up but wont repurchase.
Hallo, only dupe I know from this video is Physicians Formula eyebrow gel and it is only one from drugstore I like 😊 It is really great and it can concur Benefit 24 Hours Brow Setter or this new ABH 😉 I love these three ❤
Won’t the bigger bronzers dry out tho ? What’s the expiration on them ?? Maybe the smaller is worth it. I don’t wear a lot tho. So 😊😊😊 I love this video
I’ve been really intrigued with the new CG foundation. And although I’m combo/ oily like you I’ve changed my entire skincare routine. My skin is going through it! Right now I’m going through an extra dry period. Maybe the cold weather has something to do with it also. In any event, after hearing what you’ve said about CG I’m most definitely going to be saving my $22! Maybe I’ll try it once my skin gets back to normal and the weather changes. Thank you for your review! I always trust your thoughts and have got some holy grails in my stash because of you! You’re the best Steph!
I probably should have put in a clip of it on my skin during a really bad day, but I was trying to streamline things and save all of that for my upcoming review. But it was BAD on my dry areas on multiple days. On the normal areas, it's nice though. But I have less expensive med-coverage foundations that are also nice on normal areas. Even the CG Clean Matte BB Cream is less and it's also nice :)
I just tried the Cover Girl tint after getting a sample of the the Chanel Complexion Touch and I agree the Cover Girl shows more texture on my 62 year old skin. Bummer! Great dupes video!
I am waiting on my Catrice order with that duo. I immediately thought of the CT duo when I saw it on their website. Glad it has your stamp of approval!!
I love your videos, but after watching this one I was inspired to drop $130! I actually liked the high end side of your face from the beginning although the difference is slight. BUT your descriptions of several of those high end products that I have been considering already just pushed me right over the edge ... which I am happy about!
I use a Ceramide emulsion with mouse tint because foundations are not flexible enough for my older skin. The Cover Girl product that caused some dryness probably has more of a particular ingredient or a lower quality of an ingredient that can cause drying vs. the higher priced product was made in be more forgiving. I’ve learned a lot from my husband working for a pharma company that owns Allergan. The high end labs use higher quality ingredients and strive to make their products work well on more skin types. It’s not an easy route to take, and they create formulas they trademark that looks like one ingredient but it’s a formula within a formula that can’t be duplicated by a competitor. The added work and quality is what keeps them on top. One thing we all should take pause to think about when a product fails is where we bought it. Be careful to shop from reputable suppliers. A department store, chain or drugstore are reliable but we have to be careful with online merchants. Unfortunately there’s a lot of cosmetics being pirated and the ingredients in them are horrible. Screen shot purchase confirmations and don’t hesitate to dispute a charge there’s a problem returning it. The reason cosmetic departments are close to a store’s door (except drugstores to control theft) is the products are the highest sales of the rest of the store combined. The cosmetic company’s at every price level want satisfied customers coming back for more.
Thx for the good information - I will be trying these out. P.S. I thought your right side had more lighting.. so it appeared more light, and smooth. But not sure if it was lighting ;) Either way, thank you!
I picked which side looked better to me, & it ended up being the high end side. That side looks more youthful. To me, the skin looks juicier, if that makes sense. You’re beautiful with or without any makeup!
I use the chanel tint as a primer. It doesn't cover anything imo but it has a blurring or skin perfecting somehow. I do really like it as a primer don't get me wrong, but i don't think I'll be repurchasing it bc it's so expensive for what it is.
I added Flower Beauty Blush Rose to cart. I was going to get the MBM Bronx Baby but imo the FB is a spot on dupe! I’m still going to get a different MBM shade to try because everyone is loving the formula.
I did pick the high end side butvdi not know if it was left or right until I watched you do the bronzer. I don't know why I knew , and also thought maybe you just have a better side like I do. 🤷♀️
The colour differences show up more on camera than maybe they do in person? I feel like your right/screen left side looks more polished, and a bit glowier (in a good way). 😊
I have that Bronx Baby lipstick and love it, and I've been trying to get the Merit Baby lipstick for a while but it keeps selling out, but now I want that Flower lipstick too. (Yes, I'm a makeup junkie with a particular addiction to lipstick. There are now support groups out here for lipstick junkies now because we all enabled one another and just went shopping for more. 😂)

Check out Jamie Paige's review too! Even though she's not over 40, she has dry skin! I'm hoping to get my review up soon after finishing up testing a couple of other foundations that will be going in the roundup ❤️ Thank you!
@@StephanieMarie I watched hers, and it wasn’t looking so hot. I have the Rose Inc, so I’m guessing I’m all set, but I still look forward to your video. ❤️
You could try placing a headband similar to this amzn.to/42eEQD6 with the knot at the back of your neck or a flat headband at the perimeter of your hairline as you apply your makeup and bronzer. And if you have a line of demarcation once it's removed, go in with a small eyeshadow blending brush right at the hairline to blend it into the hairline very strategically :)
For cream bronzer, 1oz is large. Unfortunately it takes a very long time to get thru 1oz of cream bronzer. The Saie, being more natural, goes bad before I can even get half way thru it. So the Chanel remains worth it for me ❤
The Chanel one, on me, just looks like I put on a serum, hardly any pigment. I mostly use it just to mix with heavier foundations, to sheer them out a little. I also have the serum tints by Jane Iredale, and Rose Inc. The Covergirl one beats them all. But really, now that I’ve tried a few, not buying anymore of these serum foundations. Once on the skin, are they really any different than any other foundation? If anything, I prefer the dry down feel of regular foundation…the serum ones feel weird, kind of waxy.
Another channel- I think her name is Laura Rae- tested this Covergirl Essence for use with mature skin. She said she tried it twice but it was a fail for her, basically for mature skin. But I think I want to try it.
Ounce vs. ounce, Milani might be more expensive. However, the rate of consumption is a factor. Personally, with my milkmaid complexion, I use bronzer so sparingly, that the bigger package would expire before I could use it all! 😆
I'd love to see a short video on affordable (under $20) dupes for makeup brushes.

Hi from Singapore, love your videos! ❤
Hi! Thank you! :)
I wonder if the retinol alternative in the CG foundation messed with your skin since you already use retinal in your skincare.
I researched that and asked my esthetician friend about that before even trying it and also because I wanted the info for my upcoming review. I wanted to be sure it was OK to use that type of product 24/7. Apparently it's fine to use a retinoid at night and bakuchiol during the day since it's so gentle and has soothing properties. So I'm not sure what the cause is for those of us that are experiencing this drying effect
Hmmm I love complexion touch and was wondering about the cover girl but… it doesn’t sound promising so I think I’ll stick with the Chanel. Thanks!

Ounce vs. ounce, Milani might be more expensive. However, the rate of consumption is a factor. Personally, with my milkmaid complexion, I use bronzer so sparingly, that the bigger package would expire before I could use it all! 😆
Absolutely! There's something to be said for paying less for the smaller size for sure!
Right side high end 😊
I don't have any of those issues with the CG foundation and I have very dry skin.
the bakuchiol maybe? that always irritates my skin badly. chanel water tint for life lol
My left high end & my right low end. I got it right!
I think your left is the high end. So just going to watch and see if i’m correct. i love these videos!
Do you have video on fillers . Temporary
I got it right and prefer the high end on you
I thought the dupe side looked prettier 😊
I had the same results from that Covergirl foundation.
