Flour - we make f stroke with an initial l large hook then downward r. Flourished - first make f stroke with initial large hook for the sound of l then downward r then make upward sh stroke half length for the sound of d.
@@pitmanshorthandmagicallang9148 Thank you so much, ma'am. But ma'am, after 'R' there is a vowel sound, so why is it not upward? And 'SH' is a light stroke, so after 'SH' there is 'D'. According to the rule, we should make it full. Why is it halved? I have been stuck in this confusion for a day.
@@VISESHDEV yes, after r there is a vowel sound but r is not the final consonant in this word. I have tried two outlines of the word flourished - the first one in which upward r then half length sh downward stroke. In the second one as I told u previously downward r then upward half length sh stroke. I found this second outline easier joining. U also try in both ways. In shorthand we give preference easier outlines also..
@@VISESHDEV reply to your next query about sh stroke is halved for D - there is no rule that light strokes will not be halved for d. Read clearly the page no.102, point 134 a and b. In the word vertical, v is halved for t also. In the grammalogue wished, sh stroke is halved for d . If still doubt, write to me.
