I love these examples of how you can stock up without spending a load of money, it helps to see someone actually doing it so you know it can easily be done ❤
God sure has blessed you with discernment, and you sound like you are a good steward with God’s money. We buy pinto beans by a 50 lbs. we buy them at the end of summer and they are brand new beans. They last us all year and we pay about $60. We buy a 20 lbs of jasmine rice. It is pretty fresh. We also buy canned beans and corn, oat meal. We also try and be good stewards with God’s money. God bless you 🙏🏽!!!
I live by myself and not much of a cook, so there are no beans and rice in my pantry. I love seafood but I didn't realize I have never tried sardine cans and Kipper til I watched your video. Going to Walmart today and look for some. By the way, your Walmart is nice, well stocked.
I am torn between trying to eat healthily, and creating a prepper pantry. The most affordable food of every type is toxic garbage. How do you strike a balance without pulling out your hair, and emptying your bank account?
I have the same struggle in addition to having food sensitivies, such as gluten intolerant. I basically just have to swap out items for GF versions, which costs more, of course. 2:21
I usually divide the 20lb bag of rice into smaller vacuum sealer bags and the 1lb bags, I usually poke small holes throughout the bag and put them into quart size bags and vacuum seal them. Also, you don't have to write on the bags what it is because you can see what it is. ☺☺☺
I expect prices to continue to rise. Right now, I'm canning my leftover turkey and making bone broth to add to my pantry. Do you ever stock anything from Dollar Tree? I know walmart is cheaper on some stuff, but Dollar Tree is sometimes more budget friendly on some things.

canned tomato sauce has to be cooked at least an hour to cook out the tin metal taste. Learned that on CHOPPED :)
Tariffs will supposedly hit China, Canada, and Mexico. Stock wisely. Google popular items bought from these countries.
I love beans

Thank you 🎉😊
Can you recommend a cookbook for cooking beans and rice? Thank you!
Spain on a Fork and Yeong Man Cooking do great bean dishes. Rice and potatoes too.

When you buy the bags of rice or beans do you keep them in their bags for long term storage or do you take them out and store them a different way?

We just place them in food grade buckets. Works very well, plus we place them in the root cellar which is currently 42 degrees F.
The only problem with cheap corn is I'm guessing it's all GMO.
