- A two hour CarSon edit from April 23 to May 5, 2003 includes Carly telling Sonny Ric raped her, Sonny comforting Carly after, Sonny and Ric in Martha's Vineyard and the beginning of Carly drugging Ric and holding him at gunpoint.
I’m sorry but Liz who was a victim of rape herself shouldn’t be going around accusing Carly of lying about rape. She should feel sympathy because she knows how she feels but no saint Liz has to go accuse her of lying cause she knows everything about everything
Liz was dumbed down for this storyline. She did later defend Carly when she found out the truth. When Ric tried to excuse his actions by saying he just let Carly believe that he had sex with her while she was unconscious, Liz was quick to remind him that "Carly still had to go through the pain."
That's because Liz is a liar herself

I know right!! If Ric died right then and there he wouldn’t be breathing long enough to kidnap Carly months later and chain her up like a caged animal for nearly two months. Carly couldn’t catch a break in 2003 one bad crisis after another.

Sonny's love for Carly is so completely different than his love for Brenda. They're both incredibly important - these are the two great loves of his life. Marriage works so much better with someone like Carly, however, than it did with Brenda. It's amazing to see the evolution of all these relationships!

He did undress her while she was unconscious, which does qualify as sexual assault.

I myself am a Liz fan, but I do agree they made her very unlikeable in 2003. She seemed dumbed down to constantly cheerlead for Ric and believe every obvious lie he fed her.

Back than what made me dislike her was the fact that she had No! Loyalty to anyone. Sonny and Jason helped her out and protected her from time to time and she turned on them for a man she barely knew. Rick kept her in the dark about everything and she still covered for him. Liz was a HYPOCRITE! Time and again calling out carly excepting the worst in her because she didn't want to believe Rick wasn't calculus towards them.
I never understood how Jason just kept forgiving Liz for treating him like shit over and over.

This was the AJ I liked. This actor had soul and heart. Of course I'm always team CarSon but seeing this AJ trying so hard to make Michael understand and then having to listen to his son tell him that he already has a dad is heart wrenching

It would make sense for Ric to believe his father’s nonsense story when he was a child. But Ric is a full grown, highly educated man. There’s really no excuse for him to blame a 5 or 6 year old child for the choices that the adults in their lives made. Normal people do not blame small children for the choices of their parents.

It's funny how I love these old scenes I've seen SJB and TB in other soaps and completely hated their characters and LW is my fave Carly but I really think both SJB and TB did an awesome job

Jason looked more devastated than Sonny. He had tears in his eyes when he found out what Ric did to Carly, or at least what he led her to believe that he did to her.

@@goodgirl6934 I was a HUGE Jarly shipper back in the day (I prefer Sarah Brown's Carly with Jason) and I hated that they were ruined for CarSon. I do think this whole Ric storyline was interesting for the most part, but I think Tamara Braun's Carly was a better fit with Lorenzo Alcazar.

Imagine if Sonny offered Carly all the money and love she could ever want, but all it would cost her is Michael. Yeah, she’d have to abandon him, then she could have it all. Does anyone think that’s a deal she’d take?
The difference of course is that Carly wouldn’t let him have the baby she was pregnant with either. She wouldn’t give up either one of her kids. But Adela wasn’t Carly. She was also an immigrant, single mother in a different time. She had no actual way to battle a wealthy white business man. So, she lost her baby but refused to abandon her oldest son. Does anyone think this is Adela or Sonny’s fault?

What are you talking about? AJ's kid finally shows up to talk to him and Skye steers the kid away and then doesn't invite AJ into the conversation, a tragically missed opportunity for AJ to finally tell his son how he feels about him and how much. Finally the conversation was not about Sonny, Michael shows up and says, it's not about the man who raised me. AJ is doing a great job feeling his way through that convo, another minute and he would have gotten to spit the words out, and Michael wasn't made of glass, he could have handled the confrontation with his bio dad, hell, that's what he showed up to do. If AJ had blown it at that point it would have been on AJ and between him and his son. Skye interrupts and paints AJ like a threat. And Skye is one to talk about being this blood or that blood, as soon as she was not AJ's blood she wasn't his ally.

It's 2024, and I just re-watched this. I forgot how amazing Tamara Braun was as Carly. I've always been a huge Carly fan, and TB was the BEST! I'm going to have a hard time going back to thinking that Laura Wright (as much as I really like her!) is the "real" Carly. Tamara was and still is!
Oh yeah, and this is when I really began to despise Elizabeth, and I still despise her!

As much as I hated AJ at times he never pushed Carly down those stairs, she was hysterical pulled away from him and fell it's like she rewrote what happened in her mind and then spouted it as the gods honest truth, she learns nothing from it again climbs the stairs hysterical and places her and her baby in danger AJ actually catches her this time but is still a monster. I loved how they flipped the narrative with Nell who claimed Carly pushed her down those same stairs in a similar incident despite telling anyone who'd listen I didn't push her no one believed her, what Carly Nell and Sonny's stair falls all have in common they were accidents where someone was unfairly blamed for "pushing" someone down the stairs. life lessons stay off the stairs at the Quartermains those people need to install a lift.
I hated AJ, but I agree he did not push Carly. However, he did tend to set a lot of those things in motion. Billy Warlock said that AJ's feelings for Carly were not healthy, to say the least. "He hates her, and he loves her".
He didn’t push her but she wasn’t hysterical. He grabbed her wrist and like anyone else reaction she pulled away from him and fell back. Her best explanation is telling Bobby and Jason after it happens. Laura’s Carly actually also doesn’t say she was pushed. I think whoever wrote some stuff during Tams run as Carly either didn’t do their homework or they didn’t think the fans would care that things kept flip flopping. I’ll never defend AJ but it wasn’t a push but it was more his fault than her’s he should’ve grabbed her and she should’ve gotten off the stairs before she argued or just gone to or yelled for Sonny when AJ started in.

This is where PJ went wrong.....he claimed to love Micheal but he never took Michael's feelings into consideration.....he was a young boy who only knew one father.....trying to bully him into loving him or believing his version of the story was just plain stupid......it's the same mistakes he continues to make.....putting himself first instead of Micheal.....he wanted to be the one to tell Micheal the truth but didn't PJ think about how that kind of information would affect a little boy?.....he was simple minded and selfish.
