I own a 718 GTS and it’s phenomenal !!!! Everyone should at least experience a mid engine car at some point … it’s VASTLY different than a front engine car. I’ve always been a manual guy too, but mine is PDK and it’s unreal how fast it shifts. As much as I love the manual, I feel like you’re gonna miss out on a boat load of performance
The part red interior looks great. I love the Gear shift control (looks better than the dinky little toggle switch on the 911). I also love the idea of putting the key into the dash - that way you *KNOW* where it is. I hate keyless cars. I also love the way that Porsche have NOT filled the car with endless electronics and touch screens. I like the old style analogue dial gauges and I like to push a button. Great review buddy. Thanks 👍
I actually have a base model 718 and I went to get it serviced a few days ago. Almost all of the mechanics there prefer the 718 for its daily drivability and handling compared to the 911. They actually dropped some knowledge on me too. Basically they said that naturally, the 911 is going to be faster during takeoff and straight lines, but because the 718 is mid engine, it can maintain higher rpms around curves, thus being able to accelerate out of them more quickly than the 911. I just took their word for it, but the 718 has definitely kept me out of trouble while cornering pretty easily in situations that I wasn't personally comfortable with. For me, I'll take my 718 all day.
The 718 is a sweet ride. As much as I love rowing gears, the PDK is unbeatable. Too bad that one did not have Sport Chrono. It puts the shifting and throttle mapping on another level!
“Superb!” lol shao Kahn good one brother I drove the 4.0 GTS RS version and a 911. The cayman definitely feels more like a race car but the 911 has the luxury and prestige feel that can’t be beat.
A buddy had the previous generation, really nice car. I never have a problem driving an automatic…unless it’s a car you can get in manual. Then I feel inadequate somehow 😂 (‘No, I normally drive a stick, honest!’) even with a transmission as good as the PDK.
😆😆😆 I hear you in that. I started to pass up reviewing this because it was a PDK. Glad I got a chance to drive it. I’m really curious about their manual
This video makes me happy to see man I been look at these cars and very tempted. Prices have come down on them. Completely obtainable. They just needed to give you a manual haha
LMAO @ Stick it in just a little bit 😆 #MOC Man it looks like you had an amazing time driving that thing, which driving experience would you say you enjoyed more? The Supra or the Porsche?
PDK. headroom is so a helmet fits. Car is nice. entry level is pretty nice, but the flat 6 is the way to go. next vid of a Porsche, floor the crap out of it
For the most part, I like the looks of the car. I mildly don't like the looks of the front end, though, and it reminds me of Tesla front ends. The 2024 Model 3 definitely looks a lot better than the previous generation in my view. The lack of a stick shift is a deal breaker for me. My current car is the last stick shift I'll ever own, but I plan on keeping it for about 10 years, when I'll be pushing 70. I'm expecting my next car to be a Honda, because I like Honda. But with technology changing so fast, I'll just have to wait and see.
I wish this one had the manual. I've never driven a Porsche with one. I plan on keeping my Integra long term. I'm excited to see the next sports cars to come to the market but they are all so expensive these days.
Poverty (spec) is a state of mind, ticking all options for bragging rights and / or buying a 911 to appear rich is the actual definition of poverty. Anybody can lease a 911 on finance that means acquisition of liability, car make you poorer with the increase payment just to appear rich rather than being asset rich…..😢
The Cayman is definitely the drivers car of the Porsche lineup. Porsche just neuters it so it doesn't take away from the 911 halo status.
Facts. I see they keep adding more each generation like the GT4 RS
I have a 22 Cayman S - 350 hp - PDK- and much prefer it over a 911
MR is better than RR layout when it comes to driving dynamics
@@Datimdavis2900 I'm sure it does not feel neutered. 😀
I own a 718 manual and love it. It is a blast to drive..., very sporty.
what would be the annual maintenance and insurance costs?

Nice driving)...the Cayman is the real Porsche sportscar!
911 is a iconic but big in size. Cayman A+
iv had the 987, 981 and now the 718s, drive one, and you want one, awsome car to drive.
I believe it. I want one now. How do you like the 911s?

Thanks for sharing. The 718 deserves more credit than what it gets. I would love to own one in a manual.
That half red interior looks awesome
Thanks for this video I just found and pulled the trigger on a 2019 model with 9k miles picking it up next week! Been wanting one of these since 2009
Nice! I’m watching the process of these as well. Hopefully I can find one less than $50k
can you write down the price?
I love the Cayman! It’s the Porsche I would get over a 911. Can’t beat its light weight and agile nature
It’s gotta be the most agile car I’ve driven to date
That is a beautiful car man
Yeah! You found the underrated Cayman aka best sports car Porsche makes. My GTS 4.0 will be in the stable forever
How does it compare to the 911? I would love a GTS 4.0
@@QueTheChaotic. 911 requires a bit more skills to drive hard were the better engineered mid engine Cayman is easier to drive at 10/10's.
@@trigganometry168 I like the ability to go 10/10

Oh wow. How can you identify sport chrono?
Easiest way to tell is that it will have a stopwatch clock on the center dashboard.
@@thesearch9048 good to know. Thanks
718 gt4 or gt4 rs if you can even get an allocation is enthusiast heaven!!
They stop making GT4’s no more allocations!

@@QueTheChaotic definitely agree bro, nothing beats a N/A Porsche.
