Just so everyone knows, Kirby has killed enemies much more powerful than Buu in his respective games. Were talking god-like creatures that are dimension busters and some that can even bend reality to their will.
Pretty sure Grandpa Gohan is the only one that stayed dead throughout the entire show lol.
And that was only because he wanted to stay in the otherworld.

He still struggled and lost to berus who is essentially the equivalent to Kirby they are both destroyer gods and nobody seem to be mentioning this but the fact that Kirby survived a planet explosion without a scratch while buu was blown to bits by a similar explosion not to forget Kirby could just eat any attack thrown at him
Also some people try to say buu could have survived the final attack if you consider the fact that was killed by the spirit bomb and even if it was weaker than said spirit bomb he would still die because he also has to somehow survive the sun
And I’m going to say that didn't help Eric’s case considering multiple Mortal beings are stronger than the Kai’s Buu has killed. Gohan, Vegeta, Gotenks (albeit only an hour of existence), and Goku. That’s not including stuff during Super.

The butthurt is strong in Eric. Regardless of the tone of source material, Kirby out-matched Buu in virtually every stat. Speed is easy to debate, but the warp-star was only utilized once during the fight. Eric spent so much time praising Buu and insulting Kirby that none of them could actually hear each fighters feats and abilities.

I like to focus on the part where it blows a hole in the moon so big, that it gets permanently stuck in a crescent. The takeaway is that the moon, as an inanimate object is neither "good" nor "evil" and that while the Star Rod may be more effective against evil, it is still a powerful and destructive weapon aside from that.
Kirby himself is an incarnation of pure positivity according to the recent lore.

Anyway.... about the Death Battle... I think they did a lot of wrong calculations for Buu, but Kirby still wins... simply because of the Hyper Nova Kirby power up. And if the Hyper Nova Kirby wouldnt work... then the Star Rod definetley would destroy Buu... since that thing "Destroys Evil".
The only consequences in the DBZ universe is passing out for yelling for 8 episodes and grunting 50% of the ones without yelling in them.

Necrodeus (might I add that he beat Necrodeus while split into mini kirbies of extreme weaker power) Nightmare, Marx (Soul, too), Dark Matter, 0, 0^2, Yin Yarn. Now let’s get to the big boys.
Galacta Knight, Dark Mind, Magolor, Magolor Soul. Oh also did I mention Star Dream? A super-computer that had the ability and intent to destroy all life in the universe? The one that had the ability to create multiple wormholes at once to transport lasers, beams, giant code cubes, a fleet of Robobot armor and even a swarm of asteroids easily? The one just a bit bigger than popstar that easily took over the planet and stood more than a chance against the entire armies of King Dedede and the Halberd (as well as Meta Knight himself)? This computer summons clones of Dedede, Queen Sectonia, Dark Matter, and even summons the one and only real deal Galacta Knight. Galacta Knight HIMSELF is a planet buster at LEAST. Star Dream even states just before summoning him, “He may end destroying a nearby planet or two, but such is life.” Oh yeah, then Galacta Knight destroys Star Dream with one swipe.
And the biggest boy of all?
Void Termina. A canon, confirmed, 100% God. An ancient lord of darkness, possibly the origin of all evil in the Kirby universe. Void Soul is the only thing stronger that we know of.
Then we got Fecto Elfilis, Morpho Knight, and Chaos Elfilis.
0 and 0^2 are big boys too, they're the embodiment of negativity, and the opposite of kirby (they have the same origin, origin that Kirby obliterated, Void)
And the fact that Kirby is related to Void Termina, he's an incarnation filled of positive energy
There's also Void, who is stronger than Void Termina.

The stronger the opponent, the stronger Kirby is.
In this case, Buu used his most powerful attack and Kirby sucked it up and spat it back at him, therefore using Buu's power against him.

Eric... Kirby is a star warrior and an infant one at that. Also, Kirby inhaled the attack from Majin Buu and spat it back at him which Buu probably didn't expect, it didn't kill Buu but it pushed him all the way into the sun which then killed him. If you had paid attention during the informational part instead of talking over it... you'd have learned something instead of being butthurt at the end result. Besides, Majin Buu is evil, Kirby was born to destroy evil.

Have you guys seen the scene in DBZ where cell was losing to Trunks, and then he said,"you are more powerful, but you'll never hit me" let's just say that I agree that Kirby is stronger(because if I brought up stuff from the anime, you guys would just dismiss it as"over exaggerating") the only reason that Screwattack said that Kirby would be fast enough is that the warp star was"FTL", okay I haven't seen this talked about much but I'll prove right here why Buu would have been many times faster than Kirby, reflexes and pure speed. In the Dragon Ball(Goku as a kid) Goku was already faster than the human eye can perceive(already faster than Mach 10) and was able to react with blinding speed at about a tiny fraction of the power that base form Goku was at Saiyan saga, then after 4-5 more sagas of Goku becoming many many times stronger and faster than that time and multiply that power and speed by 400(SS3) that was Gokus speed fighting Fat Buu(weakest) and Buu still won. I'm not sure why the Star Rod didn't do much damage to Buu. It destroys evil. It essentially works the same way as a spirit bomb. If anything were to kill Buu, it would be that, not Buu's own planet destroying energy. That's my only complaint with this death battle. If Kirby were to win, at least make it with the Star Rod, as it makes the most sense.
Meta Cat well if Buu was inside the sun it would keep incinerating him constantly, so even if it didn’t finish him off he wouldn’t be able to regenerate and he would be stuck there as a bunch of tiny pink particles.

Fun fact, if you look at the energy Kirby rebounded at the big plant monster in the clips from the explanations, it looks significantly different from the energy the plant itself was shooting at him. This (and the fact that other things he inhales and then spits out turn into literal stars) indicates that energy he rebounds isn't a simple 1:1 transaction: the energy is _converted_ into his _own_ type of energy. The same energy that the warp star is made of, therefore the same energy that the _star rod_ is made of, and thus by transitive property, the same energy that destroys evil. It may have _looked_ the same in the animation, but that was _not_ a Super Vanishing Ball anymore once Kirby spat it back at Buu. >:3

Probably, but that just means Kirby and Buu are relatively even. Overall, Buu is stronger, but Kirby is better in unconventional ways. The flaw of Buu is that nearly anything can effect him (hence the bullets piercing him), so Kirby actually stands a chance. Basically, Kirby wouldn't beat someone like Frieza or Cell, but Buu has the right weaknesses to allow a fighter like Kirby to win.

BTW, Death Battle isn't just two guys deciding who would win in a fight, it's actually much more. "Wiz" and "BoomStick" are just two characters used to give you information. They've actually had some behind the scenes things, where they talked about how they can get the entire office to join into an argument about who would win. So, it's not just two guy sitting there deciding who would win.

So the way I see it: Kirby beats Buu but had nothing that could kill him. So I say the sun takes the win & credit for killing Buu in this death battle.
King26J Star Rod should have done the trick, that thing is essentially a weaponised Spirit Bomb and it can't be destroyed unless Kirby himself turns it back, making it different from an ordinary power up.
It would take a while ofcourse but if it can destroy most of the moon, I'd say it'd work eventually.
To be honest that was my main annoyance with this battle, the fact that they got rid of the Star Rod like that.

Did you even see what Mike Kirby did to those monsters? It destroyed them with nothing left! They could have used that to kill Buu, but that would have been anti-climactic. And honestly, if you (guy on the left) hadn't been complaining the whole time during Kirby's analysis, I would have been open to listening to your arguments, but you preferred to ignore the facts, as you had already reached your conclusion before the fight even started. If you sat down and objectively sorted through all of the facts and feats for the characters, you would see that Kirby winning would be inevitable. And quite frankly, this is just me, I love Death Battle for the objectivity they put into their show. Their claim to fame is that their show IS NOT a popularity contest. If that was the case, Goku would have won, as well as a slew of other characters. I'm cool with you proposing calm, thoughtful, rational, and INFORMED points against an outcome, but they sat down and went through all of the known canon for both characters, and decided from that who would win. If you want to go up against that then you have to bring similar chops to the table, so to speak, not just fanciful memories, but actual sold, scientific analysis. I give Death Battle massive respect for putting so much rationale thought into deciding who would win, even at the cost of their own reputation. Don't you think the outcome of this fight only got more hate thrown against them? I respect them too much for me to just stand idly by as you sully their name by once again calling them a popularity contest, when there is so much irrefutable evidence that it isn't. Either you respect their analysis as legitimate or you do not, it has nothing to do with popularity contests.
In other words, please decide: Are you going to respect their analysis as legitimate or not? I'm fine with you not respecting Death Battle if that's what your heart desires, but when I see a "Death Battle Reaction", I need to be able to decide, based off the name of the channel, whether or not it's something I want to watch. I mean, the research for majin buu was bad, buu is way beyond light speed. Kirby wouldn't be able to react to buu's movements. They even state that kirby is fast enough to run on water. That is pathetic, and thats just one thing they got wrong. When they factually get things wrong, that's when people, like Eric, have a problem with these death battles.

Astonishingly... They actually downplayed Kirby like this. But it's somewhat understandable since the lore's a little Hard to find at times.
First, let me clarify some mistakes the episode made.
Kirby was only 8 inches tall in the first game canon and probably isn't in the others going by the other ninetendo cameos.... Which is good for buu considering how the coffee candy thing went.
They also made some more common mistakes. Pop star is NOT the size of earth. It has multiple small planetoids, moons and at least one STAR in orbit. I am likely not talking about mr shine, although he is a full-size star when not in a bossfight. Popstar has described as a Star itself, which would give it a mass around 33,000 times the size of our earth if it's anything like put sun. Possibly more due to being solid and having other stars in orbit.. In fact in ONE game it was said to have so much life it could be divided into seven full size planets... And was (canvas curse). Dark matter, who has devoured entire planets whole onscreen (kirby 64), can only manage about a fifth (dreamland 3) and is the size of one of these orbiting worlds (dreamland 2).
What's more, dividing Kirby (which takes either an actual diety or a sword capable of tearing massive holes in reality) divides his strength(mass attack and amazing mirror), and it only takes a quarter of a Kirby to crack the planet (amazing mirror).
This rest is Stuff they didn't know and my own math.
Buu is indeed fast. I don't like secondhand power math, so i'll try to use the most direct example i can to measure exactly how fast. While he was DEFINTLTY using instant transmission for his quick rampage at the end of the series, before canon began kid buu destroyed a thousand planets in a few years. If we take that to mean ONE year, that's only slightly less than three planets a day. The average distance between stars is 5 light years we generously assume 1 planet per star system that gives him a speed of around 15 light-years a day, or three trillion seven hundred fifty billion Miles an hour..... And since he was sealed immediately after devouring the Kai and becoming fat buu, it's safe to say he can still do it. And if we don't allow him z-fighters to eat mid combat, he likely hasn't surpassed it.
Which isn't QUITE as good as kirby, who can cut across or even BETWEEN galaxies in under an hour. the average distance between galaxies is 13 billion light years, making the warpstar nearly a billion times faster than buu, and Kirby canonically steers and summons it with his mind. This is easily comparable to beerus, who crossed the milky way in a minute in his own series.
Additionally, Kirby can deflect stars and event horizons with his breath, play baseball THROUGH entire lines of planets (star allies) and has a history of making planets explode by punching them (crackity hack/gigaton punch, megaton punch) throwing people at them too hard (superstar/superstar ultra), or destroying unthinkable evil on them that takes the planet with it when it explodes (dreamland 3, nightmare in dreamland, return to dreamland, kirby 64, canvas curse, star allies etc).
Both can turn enemies into things, (buu with his ray, kirby with cook, bubble, magic, ice and other abilities) but Kirby can shrug off being transformed, change himself back (most games) and even turn it to his advantage (epic yarn, canvas curse). Buu cannot, this was a plot point in dragonball z, and thr only time he's shown the ability was as majuub.
Additionly if he IS tranfromed or absorbed Kirby's 'heroic heart' can just emerge and revive him or pull him to safety, like it did when death itself managed to mostly kill Kirby by clever cheating (mass attack). Or even activate a power which would put up a barrier or break him free like ice or stone (sqeak squad). Plus, even as yarn kirby was strong enough to casually throw people between planets.
Buu's biggest advantage in dragonball was that he was NOT a typical dbz fighter, he was something too eldritch for the heroes to respond too at first, and even THEN he would have died several times over had he not lucked out (and if goku had decided to take him seeiously as supersaiyan 2). Even his iconic regenerating relies on reforming with the old matter and can be worn down to the point where normal punches damage him. Toriyama himself said kid buu was dangerous because it ignored these limits and fought harder then it could afford to, making it a danger to itself. We even see a hint of this onscreen when he needs to hold back from regenerating his.... head tentacle to leave enough mass out to absorb gohan.
Kirby faces NOTHING BUT eldritch nightmares to the point where his main enemy, zero, is a sentient nhilistic parasite dimension that creates the afore-mentioned planet-eating demons as it's weakest attack. And he has MORE than enough tools at the ready, including several which would realistically destroy atoms and have even been shown to work against similar foes in dragonball: e.g sub zero temperature and plasma should destroy atoms and cold has been shown to work on 'squishy' type foes and regenerators before. And just as well on ki-users.
And between them, buu really doesn't have anything kirby hasn't seen before.
And while destroying a galaxy a planet at a time is impressive, Kirby has survived galaxies being vaporized in a single explosion from ground zero. Twice. (Squeak sqad and star allies) The first time didn't even make him break eye contact and was such a background event most players missed it.
Also, while Kirby IS a baby and has judgement problems, he's still smart enough to build an interstellar spaceship without blueprints in a few minutes and instantly master any ability or vehicle. He may not know the full extent of his powers, but neither does buu, who genuinely didn't know veggeto hadn't been absorbed until he started losing powers.
Also, flavour text of the Kirby games says Kirby has infinite power. It isn't hyperbole. Kirby can give OTHER PEOPLE permanent copy abilities, empower ancient artifacts turn everyday objects into evil-destroying weapons by wielding them and once sucked up a laser made of the life force of dreamland, drained potentially to death (see the above seven planets thing) and then shot it back stronger. The plot of planet robobot happened because kirby empowered the mech-suit, not the other way around.
Star dream, an omniscient super computer built by the ancients and capable of rewriting reality with pure intellect was shown to know things it is physically inpossible to know such as knowing of and being capable of summoning galacta knight (who was so dangerous he was sealed outside franchise canon by by his jailors, so his every appearance is officially the first time anyone's heard of him according to the creators. Yes, Kirby lore is weird). When he tried to create a copy of kirby's foe dark matter, he could only make an inferior shadow, and when he tried to calculate kirby's power he had a horrified breakdown.
And given recent games, there's a darn good reason they both defied analysis like that.....
Im gonna correct you slightly on saying that Majin Buu could've been taken out had Goku taken Buu more seriously. And im gonna say no to that. The only one that has even a chance to defeat Majin Buu or Super Buu is Gohan with the Kai ritual. Only him was able to push Super Buu to its limits, even then Gohan was absorbed and defeated. Goku claimed he could have beaten Fat Buu on his own, but that is ridiculous, he can barely keep up with Kid Buu who is many times weaker than Complete Fat Buu (AKA Fat buu without releasing his evil side). Fat Buu and the other Buus get damage because they wish to tank the attacks with their own body instead of using their Ki to make a protective barrier.

So... probably not the whole population.)

News flash: Incarnate means you have a physical form. So essentially Buu does have a physical state. Plus, he's not EVIL incarnate, he's RAGE incarnate, so you don't necessarily need pure good to beat him. Plus, even if that were the case, Kirby still has that Star Rod which can destroy evil, and if Buu had given him half a chance, Kirby could've made a new Warp Star to replace it.

When I saw how long this video was, I knew it was because they needed to argue why Buu shouldnt of lost. SOOOO much salt. Kirby might be cute and stuff, but Kirby has killed DEMONS as well! He killed both O and O2. He's not a weakling. Kirby and Buu are both people who can take alot of abuse, but Kirby could bounce back from more. Kirby survives planets exploding. The frying pan thing is a bit bs, but I think Kirby can still handle more then Buu can. And Buu never had to fight a being that had powers like Kirby. Powers that could harmlessly absorb Buu's attacks. If Buu can't hit Kirby with anything strong enough to kill him, what good is Buu's power? And if we go with the logic that Buu can only be destroyed by pure good because he's pure evil, Kirby's star rod KILLS evil things! It slays evil like the master sword. Remember, the fight is just for fun, its the facts that prove things. Fights could go a million different ways. But the star rod has the ability to put Buu down, so if Kirby can survive powerful attacks, and absorb ones that could kill him, its a matter of time. And I thought Kirby was going to lose the first time I saw the fight.
Now I don't have a problem with someone being mad because your prefered character lost, because you are attatched to those characters. But its when you think yours is so much better then the other character, and that the other character doesnt have any chance, is when its just annoying. Shadow was strong, but Vegeta was stronger. But that doesnt mean that Shadow is weak, or didn't stand a chance. It's just salty hate, and its kinda disrespectful.

After getting more information from Star Allies, it's all but confirmed that Kirby is a reincarnation of an omniversal entity. Kirby might not have the most good actions, but his reincarnation was powered primarily by positive energy, with the recurring villain of Dark Matter/Zero being a similar reincarnation formed of primarily negative energy. The positive energy (technically Dream and Heart Matter) is naturally effective against beings of negative energy / Dark Matter.
I agree that neither the Planet Burst nor the sun would be able to destroy Buu, but the final laser from the Star Allies Sparkler would have a good chance of hurting him as it uses the same positive energy as Kirby himself.

I could mention how the Star Rod is specifically good at destroying evil like Buu, but I want to mention some of the other weapons Kirby has used.
Dark Matter was first defeated with the Rainbow Sword.
Dark Matter was then defeated again with the Love-love Stick, which then defeated Zero.
Zero was resurrected/reincarnated and was defeated again with the Crystal Gun.
Void Termina, who pretty much is the devil, can be killed entirely with Friend Hearts.
Since the Friend Hearts are, or at least became, a part of Kirby's innate skill set, I think at this point, Kirby could be classified as pure good.

You know that clip of Buu blowing up random planets and a Galaxy disappearing in the background? That's non-canon. In the manga, Buu only leaves Vegeta and Goku, destroys Earth and then comes back. It's the anime that makes people think the DBZ galaxy is stronger than it really is. They did the same shit in the Broly movie.

Scrooge McDuck won a death battle with Shovel Knight because he has feats that are more powerful even if they're portrayed in a silly way.
The Winner Is Kirby
Technically, the spirit bomb didn't 'barely' kill him. THe thing was powerful enough to atomize Buu. It's simply that Goku was so exhausted at that point that, until the Dragon Balls were used to heal him, he literally did not have the strength to stop Kid Buu from pushing it back due to him having overused Super Saiyan 3 so much and his Ki reserves being dangerously low because of it (to the point, I believe, where he was finding it incredibly hard to recover it).

You know, even if the Planet Burst exploded on Kid Buu, keep in mind that he got reduced to mere specks from getting hit by the EDGE of its explosion before. Imagine what being closer to the blast's center would do to him!
All I'm saying is that Shadow vs. Vegeta was actually bullshit as the chaos emeralds have been said multiple times in multiple games (e.g. SA1 and Shadow the Hedgehog) to have unlimited power. So a Super form has unlimited power. So if Shadow went Super, it'd essentially be Goku vs. Superman all over again. Also, I'd like to point out that Hypernova turns Kirby's stomach dimension into a black hole. So not only can he effortlessly survive a black hole in the centre of his body, he can also rebound something with enough force to escape a dimension-sized black hole with the object being right next to the centre of the black hole. Compared to Kirby any DBZ character is a joke.

I don't know I can kinda agree with the battle, because Buu can never be reformed since his power can only be activated when he fully reforms, but as pieces he can not use his power. But with the sun constantly melting him, It could just be a never ending cycle of melting and reforming and melting.

+Andrew Watson At the end of the day it still didn't make sense. Kirby doesn't have the movement speed like say Superman to contest with Instant Transmission. And I told people already how does Kirby stop an instant transmission+chocolate beam. Obviously he could absorb it if it was fired in front of him, but from behind or ANY other angle, it gets him every time. This battle could have gone either way and I don't think Death Battle acknowledged that at all.
+Wasabifold Well every Death Battle can go any way, depending on the actions and choices. But Kirby can combat Buu's teleport because his warp star moves at light speed. Also, his star rod would destroy him like a spirit bomb, because they both destroy evil.
Oliver Nutkins-Middleton But he isn't on his warp star all the time. Only his warp star moves Light speed. Kirby himself can't. As we saw, Buu is a strong enough combatant to disable a warp star. So again, the matchup didn't make any sense to declare one sole winner

Thing is, Kirby’s people were able to defeat and lock away Nightmare, a universe-ending entity of evil incarnate, similarly to Majinn Buu. At the end of Kirby’s Adventure, Kirby fought the escaped Nightmare one-on-one and beat him using the Star Rod. The Star Rod is the power created by Kirby consuming his Warp Star, which is made from his own energy. Also, Kirby is an actual child despite being 200 years old, and thus has the pure heart and innocence of a child, making the Warp Star and Star Rod innocent in nature as well, which might counteract Buu’s evil in some way.
