My Motley Crue Playlist! • Motley Crue
In this Too Young To Fall In Love guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great song from Motley Crue note-for-note.
The tuning is D standard. That requires you to tune every string on the guitar down a whole-step. That is, starting from the 6th string, D G C F A D.
Mick Mars' main riff is a lot of fun to play. It can be a bit challenging as well since it jumps around the fretboard quite a lot. I will show you all of the riffs in the order that each appears on the original recording.
I will also demonstrate how to play Mick Mars' solo note-for-note. This is a great solo based partly around the Phrygian Dominant scale. This gives the solo a very exotic sound. I will also point out the differences between how Mick Mars played this solo around the time of the recording compared to more recent live performances.
Have fun learning this great Motley Crue classic! Carl...

Mick Mars is such an underrated guitarist.
Imagine the potential if you would allow himself to write Rhythm for a more soloist guitarist. I can imagine him and Randy Rhoads really getting it on in rock heaven.
He's really not. I think he got his credit. Just because his list isn't at the top doesn't mean he's underrated.
So is Carl Brown 🤪
@@briskflicks688 nobody ever talks about mick mars because motley were so huge. ge really is the definition of underrated.
@@Mad_Axe_Man125 dude literally everybody talks about him and says he’s underrated so does that really mean he’s underrated?
You know when Carl posts a crue lesson it's gonna be a good day
My main man carl here to save the day with another motley crue song. What an absolute chad
Chad
Chad!
Stoked to see this one on here. Would love to see the entire Shout at the Devil album on here eventually.
That would be awesome! I saw the Crue on the shout at the devil tour. It was my first metal concert and it was awesome! They opened for Ozzy when he was on the bark at the moon tour! I’ll never forget how bad ass Motley was when they took the stage! Yes, I’m a bit older, but I’ve seen some freaking awesome concerts!
You have put out so many lessons lately it is too overwhelming! Always a pleasure to tune in to learn so much! Have a happy holidays everyone!
Yesss! It’s gotta be this and Louder Than Hell as my favorite Crue songs. Cool sounding solo too. Y’all go check out Carl’s academy! I got it for a Christmas gift a couple years ago and it was the best thing I’ve ever received for guitar learning! 🤘
Thanks, brother! 😎🤘🏻
Thanks!

This is crazy, I was just looking for a lesson on this last night and was saddened that you didn’t make one yet but now....
This is why I'll always chose you over marty any day of the week, 1st, you literally have a lesson on every song I wanna learn.2nd, the way you teach is awesome really explain how to do things and 3rd and the most important YOU TEACH THE WHOLE SONG, i cant understand why marty only teaches you like just the first part of a song and not the whole thing dosent make sense. Anyway thank you amigo gonna rock the socks off to this one.
Cheers
Marty usually plays the main riff WRONG, or with such an inappropriate tone that it sounds wrong. I'm not sure if he's just got a bad ear, playing what he thinks is right- or he leaves out the nuances because he is teaching beginner level guitarists. Either way, if you want to keep sounding like a beginner, learn from marty. Carl's got a good ear, and generally plays it spot on. Plus marty is just damn annoying. Sorry marty. Thank you Carl.
@@citizenGmansame thats why I don’t watch marty. If i want to learn the song i want to learn it the way it was written not at a begginer level
THANK YOU! We need more Crüe on this channel.
Keep it up Carl! Best lessons on the internet by far
Awesome, Carl 🎸 Luv the 3-panel view 🎥
Loving the Crue lessons! You should do one over Knock ‘Em Dead, Kid. It’s a killer tune!
Sweet! Thank you Carl, great lesson with some classic MC and Mick Mars' iconic riffage!
Micks riffs and creativity is awesome in their first two albums definitely this song for sure
To be fair Micks creativity and imagination on the guitar is incredible throughout their career. This riff is one of my favs from any band, it's fucking BADASS.
Great guitar instruction video, thanx!🙏💜💚👊☀️☕🎸🎵
Great stuff! Thanks!
Yes I love this song I have been waiting for this thank you so much Carl
Great choice man!
This tune always makes me go crazy
Got to be honest, I never thought this would be as hard as it is to actually play it fluently... Especially as sick and frail as Mick Mars currently is. Healthy it's hard for me to play hahaha. He was a genius at riffs and rhythm, not really a spectacular solo player but he's perfect for Crue. Respect mr Mars.
How was he not a spectacular solo player? His solos are 10 times more memorable than 99% of any shredder out there. Home Sweet Home solo is a hit song in itself.
Keep em coming Carl!!!
Thank you!! I've been waiting for this
Dear GOD, I love this riff. This song.
That the thing ı was waiting for thank you carl.
Just the song I wanted
Yes! More Motley Crue! Thanks Carl!

Finally Thanks Carl. Please do some Death songs. You are the greatest
Awesome video per usual Carl!!!!
Do you have any suggestions regarding string gauges for D standard?
Finally I've been waiting soo long for a decent lesson for this song. Thanks Carl, legend 👍🤘
Mick’s timing is so hard to nail… he really needs more credit for what he did to music. He invented that sharp, punchy lead we love about 80’s hair metal. It’s dark, it’s grimey, it’s Mick.
There was Tony in Sabbath, Eddie as in “Van Halen” and then the good Lord said “let there be Mick.”
and it was good 🤘
I've been watching your weekend with REO and was hoping for Roll with the Chances. AWESOME lead
Holier than thou Lessen(Metallica) Please
I’d really appreciate it
After what hing mick Mars play it live I noticed he actually stays on the 5th and 7th and plays it one more time before up to the 5th and 4th and and only does the hammer onto the 5th kn that postion sorry if this is confusing hard to explain with out a guitar lol
Yess what i was waiting forr
Such a great guitar song to play so fun!! Mars is one my favourite guitarists of the 80s so underated like,I rate him top 20 of all time? Such a great guitarist and riff master

Wow Carl that is amazing ya know I've made alot of videos on my social media before as a guitarist myself alot of what I've played I have either just followed the record or like u said live videos on TH-cam before bc you got it down to perfection brother & ya know I know this may not be metal bc I been Jamming alot of Pink Floyd songs & solos lately by them bc for some reason I think honestly I sound the best on metal songs like this and other metal bands probably because I came more from a metal background " speaking of which I was wondering if u could possibly do some Pink Floyd songs solos and all " like say Comfortably numb also another brick in the wall & money songs like that just a request please !!?
