I was watching and had to leave when it was 14-9 to go get my haircut and I was hopeful the Heels could pull it off...the shop was showing scores on ESPN on its ticker and I saw the final score 15-14 Tar Heels! I said to myself "that is so cool!" Way to go UNC ladies...way to go! PS...oh and that save by the goalie with about 39 seconds left at around 23:26 was as unbelievable as the comeback!
Wow! I’m from the UK and I only got into lacrosse during lockdown 2 years ago! But because I have followed the 4 major North American sports for longer. As well as soccer, rugby (league), cricket and Aussie rules football. And since it isn’t on TV much over here, I don’t get much time to watch a lot of lacrosse. I had an hour to kill before the rugby league challenge cup final. And I knew it’s always ncaa lacrosse championship weekend the last weekend in may. So thought I’d watch a few of the highlights from yesterday. What a first game (Well last 9 mins) of the year to watch. This game never disappoints. Just a shame I don’t get to watch more of it. Congrats UNC and commiserations to NorthWestern.
13:33 to 13:39 This part kills me, this NW player was jogging down the field like nothing was wrong. She's typically very very fast, so this really surprised me and also pissed me off. Your trip to the national championship is at stake, get it over the restraining line THEN you can rest for a bit!! Also, Amonte-Hiller should've called for a time out somewhere in here since they had clear possession. that check from Wurzburger was like the end of this game for NW
Ik this is an old-ish comment. But I feel like it’s not Girardi’s fault. Amonte-Hiller should’ve taken her out. She was getting yellows and was clearly tired. From a coach perspective, it was the wrong move to keep her during this comeback.
Facts I'm just a huge heels fan and peeped it for UNC but it got intense I was yelling like it was the mens basketball tournament when she was hitting goals like Love hit 3s on Duke
@@notvinny3369 I’m happy they won the natty. As the men showed, after a crazy emotionally draining win in the quarters, it’s hard to get back up. They did it against bc. Don’t wanna act like I know anything tho. I don’t. The game play is awesome tho unc or no Unc. At least it seems that way. Are they like the warriors of womens lacrosse?? Cuz the pressure they put on the two defenses I saw was intense
Can somebody who understands lacrosse better than me explain to me what the hell Northwestern was doing defensively in the last quarter? I mean, why were the playing what was essentially "man" defense when clearly they should have played "zone"? I don't know what the terms are, if any different in lacrosse versus basketball, but I assume you know what I mean.
I’ve played lacrosse for 9 years and honestly its mainly up to the team on that end. Whether they thought they were stronger on man or zone, then played whichever they thought. I guess with man they thought they would have more of a chance of seeing cutters and stopping them but that was clearly not the case 😂
Honestly this is a historical comeback we’ll be talking about it for years to come I shed a tear 🥲
me too omg
My lacrosse team had a 6 goal comeback 3 years ago that got us the championship. Greatest comeback in history (in germany ;)

Sam Geiersbach player of the game wow 4 straight goals

As Miracle Max observed in "The Princess Bride," there's a BIG difference between "mostly dead" and "all dead."

These UNC players have the hearts of true champions!💪
Geiersbach unreal
She’s a great leader too. I liked that when the Tar Heels took the lead, she was calming every one down and saying”it ain’t over yet”.
Best comeback in ANY sport, bar none.
This was insane.
Elisabeth Priest Davis, James Washington and Adrienne Long
Feel bad for the NW goalie, NC went iso after iso, pretty much a 1v1 for the last 6 minutes. Hell of a comeback tho
I know nothing about womens lacrosse. I’m a Tar Heel tho and the girl from Richmond was wheeling and dealing
SAMMYYY

INSANE!!! GO HEELS
i keep watching this video i can’t stop
23:26 😮 that second going through your head!
Unc isn't #1 for no reason also I'm not surprised in dis sport. It is not easy to defend the goal since you have to block it with the stick
Absolutely WILD I thought NW had it in the bag
not even into lacrosse but this shit is wild
Wow never seen a team 💩 the 🛏️ that hard
University of National Championships! Go Heels!
I never watch lacross this was so random for me. Geiersbach is an animal. This was cool.
Adrienne VS Uncle James

it was j unc finally playing as good as they were capable of, they played rlly bad the first 3 quarters
Go Heels!!!
8:31
why do they throw their stick after every goal, isn't it illegal
Their sticks need to be checked after every goal
🔥🔥🔥🔥💪
damn goalie choked
Why do both teams coaches look like sisters?
lmao i was thinking that too
Thank God Americans didn't called it hockey
