When fighting a championship match the objective is never to make it look like a close match. The judges will always give it to the reigning champion when it looks close to a tie. Adesanya learned a valuable lesson that day.

It was a technical fight. Adesanya should be very careful. And should be able to defend himself well. It's not about the skills but which of his throws landed on the opponent.

Honestly Jason Wilnis blocking and lowkicks were far superior and, assuming they were his main combination for a gameplan, not surprising that he have won. He scored countless lowkicks, and hit them both heavily and swiftly. This wasn't Bruce Lees touching with a finger or pushing sandbag with whole body at 10inch per second, a guy actually performed the fastest and hardest connection at the same time. Can tell it's hella pain even checking such lowkick, and he wasn't even letting to do it, aimed differently a lot plus counterkicked.

Wilnis was blocking Israel’s strikes and throwing, and connecting! Those leg strikes were always significant, most of his boxing was significant, not to mention he was walking down Izzy. Izzy only had a fair share of significant strikes.
Not to mention when you got a guy shouting “AYY” every time Wilnis hits a strike, it makes it sound significant, even to Israel.

Did you watch this fight? This is exactly what it is, Izzy was getting outstruck. Especially in significant strikes. His strikes did nothing, Wilnis walked him down and counter struck him very well. Izzy did well to block, but if his chin was any worse he would be out.

Am I the only one thinking the judges decision was correct? Wilnis made a lot of damage and had always pressure on Alesanya, especially in the later rounds. His legkicks dealt a crazy amount of damage, you could clearly see Adesanya pull away his legs at some points in the fight. I am an Adesanya fan myself, but was still glad to see a fair decision (in my eyes).

A guy just absorbed like almost everything with a moving block, and he did move it very well manually, not random chaotic movement, just moved according to hits, if hits were feints, still did, and nearly never was late still. It was a close fight that could've gone to either. Izzy was landing it everywhere but Wilnis's kicks felt powerful and he also started landing some good punches in the later rounds. I felt like Wilnis won R 1 by the skin of his teeth and then won R 3 and 4 while Izzy won R 2 and 5.
The commentary was very biased towards Wilnis. They were constantly talking about a guy's KO power who even now has 8 KO/TKOs in 31 wins. They were talking about how Wilnis's leg kicks were doing "More Damage" and hurting Izzy while barely mentioning Izzy's work. I mean Izzy was dancing after the fight. Neither of them seriously hurt the other in this fight and it could've gone to either in my opinion.
After this lose Izzy ran away to mma so he can run and duck in the ring and go leg kicks so yes Izzy was outmatched in kickboxing his opponents figured him out and he ran away from the sport

It’s not harder either, kickboxing and boxing is a sport most people would have to do from a very young age, it requires much higher skill to be an expert at something like that. While in mma you got guys at the highest level with only street fighting experience like Derrick Lewis and Tai Tuivasa, or football players ffs…
Honestly it was a close fight, but Jason Wilnis's low kicks were so brutal, Israel wanted to make it flashy, but those kicks cooled him down

Jason Wilnis has a hectic high guard. Israel had a lot of trouble getting past his solid guard. Lots of power in Jason's legkicks, but the fight came down to a really fine line, really.
