It s difference between absorbing a opp full kick power and moving your legs with but away from your opp kick decreasing the damage. This was definitely a bad judgement call.
Honestly Jason Wilnis blocking and lowkicks were far superior and, assuming they were his main combination for a gameplan, not surprising that he have won. He scored countless lowkicks, and hit them both heavily and swiftly. Why? This fight went the right way, Wilnis was blocking Israel’s strikes and throwing, and connecting! Those leg strikes were always significant, most of his boxing was significant, not to mention he was walking down Izzy. Izzy only had a fair share of significant strikes. Not to mention when you got a guy shouting “AYY” every time Wilnis hits a strike, it makes it sound significant, even to Israel.

It was a close fight that could've gone to either. Izzy was landing it everywhere but Wilnis's kicks felt powerful and he also started landing some good punches in the later rounds. I felt like Wilnis won R 1 by the skin of his teeth and then won R 3 and 4 while Izzy won R 2 and 5. The commentary was very biased towards Wilnis. They were constantly talking about a guy's KO power who even now has 8 KO/TKOs in 31 wins. They were talking about how Wilnis's leg kicks were doing "More Damage" and hurting Izzy while barely mentioning Izzy's work. I mean Izzy was dancing after the fight. Neither of them seriously hurt the other in this fight and it could've gone to either in my opinion.
After this lose Izzy ran away to mma so he can run and duck in the ring and go leg kicks so yes Izzy was outmatched in kickboxing his opponents figured him out and he ran away from the sport
@@wingedhussar1453 riiiiight, he ran away, to a sport that is much harder, much more dangerous and has higher level opponents? Ok bud, I see you've also replied to everyone that has talked about Israel too, god damn, are you some but hurt Costa fan or something? 🤣🤣🤣
@@felixge47 mma is not much more dangerous than kickboxing at this level… And what do you mean higher level opponents? It’s not harder either, kickboxing and boxing is a sport most people would have to do from a very young age, it requires much higher skill to be an expert at something like that. While in mma you got guys at the highest level with only street fighting experience like Derrick Lewis and Tai Tuivasa, or football players ffs…
What? Adesanya was always circling out because of the other fighter pressure and constantly countered especially on the last rounds... More than fair the judges decision. And yes he was more active but most of his attacks got blocked and countered with a significant strike
J p exactly ineffective it took him 70 legs kicks coming into the 5th round to see Israel slow down. Enough ineffective legs kicks will equal to an effective result
I really need to see a MMA fight where Izzy really lost outright except Alex perreira’s KO which he was clearly winning until he got struck. He’s always entertaining. Great guy.
Did you watch this fight? This is exactly what it is, Izzy was getting outstruck. Especially in significant strikes. His strikes did nothing, Wilnis walked him down and counter struck him very well. Izzy did well to block, but if his chin was any worse he would be out.
Paul Velazquez are you joking? I agree round 3-4 he didn’t win but watch 1-2 and 5. There’s no way besides leg kicks that he lost those rounds. He stayed on the outside and landed clean shots the whole round each time
@@alecrobertson2283 I had wilnis up 3 rounds to 2, adesanya was definitely not landing clean shots lol. Wilnis had a nice tight guard and countered him every at every turn.
I remember watching this fight at 8am Sydney time that day. I knew Izzy was going to be a special talent and would be champion. In my opinion he won this fight!
My friends and I have watched this fight approx 9 times to count leg kicks, knees, and head punches. We all agree that Israel should have won this fight from all of his punches alone.
The striking is so much more crisp and skilled in Glory than it is in the UFC. Plus the kickboxers don't miss weight, gas out or get caught with steroids.
These commentators were Wilnis Cheerleaders regardless of whether you thought Wilnis or Adesanya won the fight. I personally had it 4/1 or 3/2 for Adesanya.
I feel really bad for Izzy. He definitely should have won this fight. He fought very well. But the rules count leg kicks and aggression more in glory kickboxing. If this was mma this would have been a unanimous decision victory for Izzy. His feints, fast twitch movements, distance management and setups are the best of this generation for a middleweight. And it also sucks knowing that he was winning the fight with Alex pereira and ended up getting knocked out. He must have felt devastated after those two back-to-back losses, knowing he technically beat Jason and was winning against Alex until he wasn't. I hope one day people recognize how revolutionary his skill is and not label him as a runner.
When fighting a championship match the objective is never to make it look like a close match. The judges will always give it to the reigning champion when it looks close to a tie. Adesanya learned a valuable lesson that day.
@@matthewlee5106No lmao. What kind of significant or long term damage did Izzy do to Wilnis? He landed some clean punches in the early rounds that were no longer there in the later rounds, some leg kicks early in the fight, and knees to the guard of Wilnis. Watch the first round then watch the 4th and 5th and you will see a difference in Adesanya’s footwork and even him changing to primarily using head movement to defend as opposed to his footwork later in the fight. That’s the effect Wilnis’ leg kicks had on him. He landed significantly more and cleaner shots in that regard, he only didn’t land as many punches. However the punches he did land had a visible affect on Adesanya and pushed him back which sets the tone for how the fight is going. Adesanya sets up combination or single shot, then Wilnis counters, finds shot up top or to the body, Adesanya disengages without finding a counter of his own. Wilnis therefore imposes his will. Or Adesanya exits from his combination and is caught with leg kicks on the exit. Wilnis was rarely in danger of legit damage.
Jason Wilnis has a hectic high guard. Israel had a lot of trouble getting past his solid guard. Lots of power in Jason's legkicks, but the fight came down to a really fine line, really.
You can literally view the scorecards on ur own. Izzy barely landed any shots clean. He went straight into Wilnis’s guard. Wilnis was walking him down landing cleaner shots and kicks and not slowing down at all.
All Willnis does is make sounds like when your thirsty and finally get your hands on a drink, you drink and the sound that comes after. HE WAS JUST.....THAT SOUND.....ADELSAYNA WAS the true entertainer landing great connecting shots in good regular sequences!
Notice how Izzy had holes in his game, backing up used to get him caught, but now he turns backing up into a counter sequence which shows this dude is something else
@@noelnoni7310 also the size of the octagon versus this kickboxing ring is much different. It's a lot harder to catch adesanya in the first place in the octagon cause he has room to use all that footwork and reach
None of Adesanya's hit did any damage. I've watched a lot of Israel's fights and this guy stood his ground compared to other fighters Israel actually dominated, more than stood his ground actually. I really wouldn't say either won. Draw would have been better.

Judges are pathetic these days.. damage or not a punch landed is a punch landed. It takes more skill to catch a head punch than a kick to the leg... Israel robbed of this match. Dont get me wrong the other guy brought good game but the only time the hardest hitter should benefit from hitting hardest is if he knocks someone out! Not given a match for punching harder and less. Israel was probably fighting 2 days before this fight knowing what hes like. So to look at a man and say he looks more beat when he landed the most punches is pathetic. Tell ya something.. 1 more round and he would've been down with Israel looking over him. Facts.
ADELSAYNA was the one putting in the action, he was exciting the other one reminded me of when your thirsty and you get your hands on a drink, you drink and make sounds after, that's all I hear out of the opponent white guy. All he was to me is THAT TYPE OF SOUND! Nothing entertaining there...

GLORY is fixed no wonder no one watches or bets on it.
Why? This fight went the right way,
Wilnis was blocking Israel’s strikes and throwing, and connecting!

While in mma you got guys at the highest level with only street fighting experience like Derrick Lewis and Tai Tuivasa, or football players ffs…

Clearly not, as per stats.

not even close.
Learn how to score fights and watch it again. One more thing, just because izzy is throwing punches, doesnt mean they are landing.
The striking is so much more crisp and skilled in Glory than it is in the UFC. Plus the kickboxers don't miss weight, gas out or get caught with steroids.
I agree with all your sentiment except for the steroid part. The testing is near non existent in the kickboxing world.
Lol that's a BS myth. There are UFC rejects fighting in the "premiere" striking league.
And they are a bunch of nobodys

The commentator: 'Adesanya is like a big boy whose hands are like grabbing bananas with a quizzed look on his face. . .' Code talk maybe. . .
These commentators were Wilnis Cheerleaders regardless of whether you thought Wilnis or Adesanya won the fight. I personally had it 4/1 or 3/2 for Adesanya.
I agree
He maybe won one round bruh😂 this aint the ufc with delusional judging. Wilnis clearly won

When fighting a championship match the objective is never to make it look like a close match. The judges will always give it to the reigning champion when it looks close to a tie. Adesanya learned a valuable lesson that day.
Wilnis won though lol landed the better strikes and walked Izzy down the whole fight, his guard is simply too good
Did we watch the same fight? Izzy won this pretty clearly
Agree!!! @@matthewlee5106
No pressure Isreal, u did very well. I prefer ur style of fight 💪💪💪
esse Israel adesanya é simplesmente bom
Jason Wilnis has a hectic high guard. Israel had a lot of trouble getting past his solid guard. Lots of power in Jason's legkicks, but the fight came down to a really fine line, really.
Aggression is ineffective when your opponent is hitting you at a higher rate and you fail to stifle his movement.
You can literally view the scorecards on ur own. Izzy barely landed any shots clean. He went straight into Wilnis’s guard. Wilnis was walking him down landing cleaner shots and kicks and not slowing down at all.
Adesanya won. More strikes landed.
Especially if head shots are count for more points.
Ponz Adesanya landed less strikes and threw more, wilnis won
All Willnis does is make sounds like when your thirsty and finally get your hands on a drink, you drink and the sound that comes after. HE WAS JUST.....THAT SOUND.....ADELSAYNA WAS the true entertainer landing great connecting shots in good regular sequences!
Didn't to any damage. This is why he lost.
Notice how Izzy had holes in his game, backing up used to get him caught, but now he turns backing up into a counter sequence which shows this dude is something else
That’s because he doesn’t face elite strikers in MMA who can capitalise on those holes. His footwork and calmness are his biggest assets

Dont get me wrong the other guy brought good game but the only time the hardest hitter should benefit from hitting hardest is if he knocks someone out! Not given a match for punching harder and less.
