  • If you are looking to get up close with white-tailed deer in the Texas Hill Country, look no further than the greenbelts of San Marcos. While these deer have become acquainted with humans, there is still an epic thrill when capturing them on video or in photographs.

Nice captures. How do you like that tragopan? Worth the money? Have you tried any other blinds? Been looking into getting one for a couple months now. Still just trying to decide the best route to go.

Hey Brock, I really like the tragopan grouse v+ and I’ve been using it for a few months now. The benefits of this blind over the Tragopan V6 is how small the grouse breaks down. I can throw this thing in my large hiking bag no problem. The setup and breakdown is also really simple, with the total time of deployment just mere seconds. (You will need to attach the poles for the top of the blind, which takes a minute or two) This can be useful in a pinch if you spot some wildlife close by.
I have not tried any other blinds, but I spend far too long researching specs and reviews haha. If you have not used a photography blind before, or looking to upgrade, Tragopan is the way to go. Each view hole is customizable depending on what type of camouflage you need. This goes for the grouse v+ and V6.
Hope this helps. Good luck out there
